The baby shower decorations gave Kendra the inspiration she needed to finish the nursery. She even went so far as to keep the sign from the celebration. I know we are all ready for her to give birth. I just haven't had a chance to make a suitable baby for them. I may have to use a Mattel baby for the birth and then swap it with another baby later.
Here she is sitting in the nursery chit chatting with her unborn child
"Okay precious, your nursery is all ready so you can come any time now. Your daddy and I are very anxious to meet you."
"Your comfy crib is being kept warm by your first stuffed animal." (Kendra)
"You have lots of goodies in your baby basket. I also bought you the cutest pair of baby Reeboks. I know you won't be able to wear them until you get much older, but I just couldn't resist." (Kendra)
"Oh, I can tell you like that from that little kick you just gave me." (Kendra)
"Honey, who are you talking to?" (Nathaniel)
"I'm talking to our baby. I thought if I described his room to him, he would want to come out quicker." (Kendra)
"Oh honey." (Nate)
Nathaniel grabs Kendra by the hands to lift her out of the chair. It takes her a moment to get up.
"I know this is just miserable for you. He will be here before you know it." (Nathaniel)
"It's not miserable. I would never say that carrying our baby was miserable. It's very uncomfortable, but not miserable." (Kendra)
Nathaniel and Kendra hold each other in silence for a while.
"Let's go to bed. You must be tired. I will even give you a nice foot massage." (Nathaniel)
They make their way into the bedroom to get ready for bed.
What a sweet nursery! It even has some swanky appeal going on like it was designed by Candice Olson.
ReplyDeleteMuff - Now that's quite the compliment. Candice is my girl.
DeleteThis is so beautiful! I love the zebra and giraffe as well as the wall painting. It's so crisp and clean looking. Very greatly designed. That crib is very nice. Belongs in a magazine. Congrats to them...
ReplyDeleteOnyyx - Thanks for visiting my blog and thanks for you wonderful comments.
DeleteThis nursery is gorgeous Vanessa. You have really made a special space for the little boy who is on the way to Morristown. <3 I found out I'm going to be a first time aunt, and we get to find out if the baby is a boy or a girl the 25th of this month. I'm so excited! (^_^) So, the stories you been posting about the baby's imminent arrival have been wonderful to read. Thank you for continuing to share Morristown with all of us.
ReplyDeleteThanks Cat! Congrats on your pending auntie-ship. That is wonderful. Hopefully the Burkes baby will arrive before your niece or nephew does.
DeleteSuch a sweet peaceful looking room for a baby. I like that rug! The couple look so sweet and in love.
ReplyDeleteGrandmommy - Thanks. I had chosen a different rug, but misplaced it before I got it in the room. So I had to come up with something else. I never drive myself crazy looking for something I misplaced. I just move on. I think it was a happy accident.
DeleteI love the look of her nursery. I chose a neutral Color scheme for my sons nursery. If we have another boy if am leaning towards blue. Poor Kendra those last weeks are a beast I was begging my Dr to place me off work! My maternity started on a Fri he snuck in the following Mon during my docs app. I was counting on at least a week off work before his grand arrival.
ReplyDeleteAG Lanc - Thanks. How old is your son? What makes it so bad for Kendra is that she's been on pseudo bed rest almost since the beginning. She is ready for some normalcy. She doesn't realize that after the baby comes, normalcy will be a thing of the past.
DeleteHe will be 4 yrs old this year.
DeleteThis is the modernest nursery I've ever seen!
ReplyDeleteV - Thanks!
DeleteSo intimate! It seems as we're violating their privacy
ReplyDeleteSergio - It is a tender moment. Luckily they don't even know we are watching them.
DeleteI love looking at pictures of nurseries, so I'm kind of obsessed with this. It looks fantastic!
ReplyDeleteAlura - Thanks. I love looking at real nurseries and kid rooms. They're so much you can do with them.
DeleteKendra has made a lovely nursery (or really you have). It looks like there will be a countdown to see whether this baby or the royal one will arrive first. At least Kendra and Nathaniel don't have photographers camped out the front waiting for the announcement.
ReplyDeleteCarrickters - That's right. The royal baby is due any day now. Maybe they will give birth on the same day. LOL. I guess I need to start working on the hospital. Unfortunately for me, they didn't opt for a home birth.
DeleteI love how Kendra is waiting for her baby! he nursery is beautiful with all the details especially the sign from the baby shower! :)
ReplyDeleteRosemary Hil - Thanks. I figured she might as well get a little more use out of that sign.
DeleteCute nursery! Love all the little details! Great job once again.
ReplyDeleteChynadoll - Thanks. Today is baby making day. Of course I know I will get distracted and find something else that needs to be done.
DeleteI love the design. It looks very nice..that zebra is that cute...
ReplyDeletePuck - Thanks! The zebra is one of my favorite things in the room.
DeleteHello from Spain!! This room is really beatiful, I love it :)
ReplyDeleteSee you soon!
Ana - Thanks! Hasta pronto.
DeleteI can tell you right now that Kendra ain't tryin to wait for you to make her a baby. She is "ret" to go. Poor thing!
ReplyDeleteThe room is beautiful!
Kenya - You are so right. You should see these looks she gives me when I pass by their house. I pretend like I don't see her.
DeleteLOL!
DeleteI can't wait to meet the Burke's new Family member! and the nursery is amazing, I love the cute bear and what Kendra said about it, so sweet!
ReplyDeleteHang in there Kendra, your time will come ;)
Yello Apple Crafts - Thanks. Isn't that the cutest little bear. He is one of the Only Heart bears. They have the best little animals.
DeleteHello from Spain: I like the color of this room for the baby. The carpet and the walls are very nice. A very cute pictures. Keep in touch
ReplyDeleteMarta - Thanks. Hopefully the new baby will enjoy his new room.
DeleteThe baby room looks nice. Cant wait for the baby to get here.
ReplyDeleteMustiwait - Thanks! I wish I could snap my fingers and have this baby done.
DeleteSo beautiful Vanessa, your sets and pictures are always so perfect...great job!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks Ginger Lola!
DeleteThe nursery is beautiful Vanessa! I love the crib and dressing table.
ReplyDeleteMy back aches for Kendra and I sure could use that foot rub from Nate.
dbg
DBG - Thanks! I never got my real nursery, so creating them in doll form is quite satisfying. I will let Nate know you are in need of a food rub.
DeleteI like the combo of the dark furniture and the blue! It does give it a modern feel. I saw your handy-work in the baby word on the wall. Very cute!
ReplyDeleteMs. Leo - I wanted to go with a powder baby blue, but I used what I had on hand. Kendra has another little word to add somewhere. She's still debating on where.
DeleteWhat a sweet picture. It's very interesting!
ReplyDeleteSybil - Thanks for visiting my blog!
DeleteHehehe, and what a twist now if the baby is actually a girl XD
ReplyDeleteSeriously though... giraffes seem to be very popular right now. Which I like, because they're cute and interesting looking XD
I'll bet she's ready for that baby to be out!
Heather - A girl at this stage would definitely be a surprise. lol. I have been a fan of giraffes for many years. I even have a giraffe in my miniature nursery, too.
DeleteQue bonita recamara, que creativa eres, me encanto todo.
ReplyDeletelindaivette - Gracias.
DeleteVanessa!! Really, you are a wonderful interior designer! I loved the nursery! It is very very cute!!!
ReplyDeleteFarbield - Thanks! I'm so glad you like it.
