Disney Articulated Body Review Part 2

Continuing with the Disney articulated body review.  If you missed part 1, you can see it here.  You can also see a very nice review of the Disney body on Ms. Leo's blog entitled, Another Road Trip  In this post I will briefly compare the Disney body to the LIV body and the Fashionista body.  For more detailed body comparisons, see Ms. Leo's post.

Here you see all three bodies.  LIV on the left, Disney in the middle, and Fashionista on the right.  As you can see, my Barbie Basics 3.0 #8 doll got the first Princess Tiana body.  It is a perfect match!  In this picture she is wearing Barbie heels, which makes her taller than the LIV doll and about the same height as the Fashionista doll.  Of course this will vary according to the size of heel on the shoe.

Here is a comparison shot of the hands.  The LIV hands never looked natural.  The Disney hands are nicely sculpted.

When you remove the heels from the Disney body, and she is flat footed, she is the same size as the LIV doll.  I really like that the Disney body can experience height changes, like in real life.  One thing to note, that I forgot to take a picture of, is the LIV body rotates at the waist.  The Disney body does not. 

Here are all three girls again, with the Disney body now flat footed.  You can now see how her height compares to the Fashionista doll.

With heels, again.

I was asked to show if she can ride a horse.  The answer is yes.

The one drawback to the Disney body is her sitting ability.  Her legs can not close all the way.  I thought is would be worse than this.  She is fine sitting as long as she doesn't try to put on a mini skirt.

Compared to the LIV doll.  I can live with this seating issue.  The benefits of this body far outweigh the minor seating problem.  

So in conclusion.....  I LOVE this body.  The skin tone, the quality, the articulation, the possible height changes, the ability to wear all those Barbie shoes I already have, make this body an 8 out of 10 for me.  I will definitely buy more as the need arises.

Did I Say No More Dolls? What I Meant Was....

No more that day.

Me with more Stardolls.  I know that's quite the shock. But most of them were on clearance for $7.48 at Target.  Get out!  I'd pay that for the outfits.  And since the LIV bodies can fit the shoes.  All is well.  The AA doll was $10.48, but still a great price.  The two dolls on the left will get LIV bodies for sure.  I'm still on the fence about a Fashionista or LIV body for the AA doll.  All three will be part of the college crew.  

Finally saw the new Artsy at Walmart.  I needed another body to paint. 

 Someone else here needs a new body and I love the little outfit.  Perfect for my college crew.

I bought a couple of the LIV outfits from Target. There were a couple more there, but I left them.  So funny, when I was at Walmart, they had the NEW ITEM sign still on their LIV stuff and regular prices.  Ha!

Found these cuties in the Fisher Price aisle.  They may come in handy if I ever do the DisneyWorld trip I have planned.

Battle of the Fashionista Bodies (Doll Nudity)

I was compelled to do this post after getting comments about how much better the original fashionista body is compared to the new 2012 body.  Sorry for the shadowy pictures. Morristown has grown so much, that my picture taking area was taken over by the local hotel.  I have yet to locate a new photo studio.  I may have to hire one of the local real estae agents to help me out.

Sylvia, Model 8, has the original Artsy body. Halle Berry is sporting the "new" 2012 fashionista body.

"How's this?" (Sylvia)
"You look awkard.  Is that the best you can do?" (Halle)
"Pretty much." (Sylvia)


"Well let's try something similar on the floor.  Maybe the chair was hindering you.  So when I go on nice romantic picnics, I like to look dainty as my date is feeding me chocolate covered strawberries.  But I digress." (Halle)
"Hmmm.  This is as dainty as I can get."(Sylvia)

"What about a yoga pose?  Not bad. You need to work on your flexibility, though." (Halle)


"Now cross your legs." (Halle)
"Wait. Darn. Why can't I do that?" (Sylvia)
"Let's move on." (Halle)

"But can you do this?!" (Sylvia)
"I'm a lady, not a stripper.  Why would I need to do that?" (Halle)
"I don't know.  Doesn't everyone need to be able to do a split?" (Sylvia)

"Granted, I can only open my legs this wide, but I really don't think I need them to open any wider.  But for the sake of the battle, I will give you this one." (Halle)

"But check this out.  I can stand without one of those crazy doll stands.  Heyyyy, Hooo." (Sylvia)

"Big whoop.  I can do that, too." (Halle)
"What? You can stand without a doll stand!  Darn, I thought for sure I would win that one." (Sylvia)
"By the way, close your legs, I think we now have an audience." (Halle)
