Started out with an Office. Ended up with a Boutique

What an awesome morning!  I love when I get something done that wasn't even planned.  This morning I walked into the studio, just to get a glimpse of my new doll.  I got the bright idea to set up her office.  I was going to make her the town psychiatrist.  I cleared out the area that I was intending to use.  Within minutes I had changed my mind and decided to transform the space into the Langford's dining room.  I have been planning to have a family dinner for that family for over a month.  I got the dining room table in place, and just that quick, I changed my mind again.  I think BB 2.5 was whispering in my ear, "boutique, boutique", because I have no idea where this idea came from.  It wasn't even on my long list of things to do.  So I am patting myself on the back for pulling it together so quickly.  Within an hour I had what you see below.  Of course this is just the rough cut.  Many changes have to happen, but I am pleased with it so far. I knew taking the time to get organized these past few months would pay off.  I was able to go right to everything that I needed.  Sorry for the poorly lit pictures.  This is on a very dark side of my studio.  I will have to add interior lighting to the room.

This is the left side of the boutique. I may be adding some wallpaper.  There will probably be a full length mirror on the left hand wall.  The white hat will disappear when I get something nice to put in it's place.

This is the center.  I will be painting the purple on the little stand.  The pictures on the wall are note cards from Target.  The $1 section, of course.

This is the shoe area.  The blue will be painted another color. I haven't decided what yet. Not sure if that chair will stay, but there will be a chair of some sort in the space.

Shoes, glorious, shoes!

I am not a big shoe person, but I was definitely hyperventilating as I was putting these on the shelf. These are some bada__ shoes. I can't wait to get my Target accessory pack.  I need some red shoes on this wall.

Look at these shoes!  You go Mattel.

Everything in here is just a place holder.  It will be totally revamped with some really nice stuff.

I have been carrying these stockings around for years, but they have never been on display.... til now.

Every woman needs a nice pair of shades.

The flooring was my bright idea of the day.  It is actually just designer office folders. I had to move one of my used folders and just like that I thought of flooring.  I have so many extra folders, it was a perfect choice.  The green is just the inside of the folder.

Here she is (still nameless) in her sweats from (whitesquirrel on Etsy). She needed to be comfortable because she knew she would be working all day in the shop.  She is exhausted now. By the way, she is on her new Pop Life body.  Poor thing only had her original body for one day. Don't worry.  Halle is very happy with her exchanged body.

The baby (nameless, too) did fairly well, but now she is hungry and sleepy.  Since they are new in town, mom didn't want to leave the baby with anyone just yet.  The next post will give a little background about her.

She wonders what her husband is doing.  He is still in Atlanta, finishing up business.  They decided to make the move to Virginia to be closer to family.  They wanted the baby to know her relatives.  Nothing like being close to grandma.  She is hopeful that he will arrive soon.

  2. Always cool when inspiration strikes. I guess we will be seeing some of the elite set when they come to patronize the boutique. Just hope the shoe storage area is on the same floor as the sales area. I worked in a boutique where all the shoes were stored in the basement. I had some customers send me up and down those stairs six times!

  3. I've got to get better on my commenting, I'm out of sequence, LOL.

Anyway, the boutique is beautiful! I like that you went with a boutique, rather than an office. You've got so many beautiful outfits for your ladies, now you have a place for them to shop.

You're really making me want to buy BB 2.5...she's gorgeous. At first I thought I could fight the urge, since she looks so much like my Tatum but now I'm thinking I'm gonna have to bite the bullet and get one too. So, it looks like she's closer to Artsy's complexion? I'm guessing. Well, she looks great on her new body and I know Halle looks good and it seems like it's a perfect complexion match for Halle. :)

  5. D7ana - You mean the BB 2.5 line. 2.0 is so passe. I did a complete review post on her yesterday. It's worth taking a peek to see her on her original body.

limbe dolls - That's too funny! I can actually picture the look you gave those people after the 3rd or 4th time down those stairs. This is a small boutique that she owns. If she considers expanding, she will get some help.

  6. Tracy - You got to keep up. I am moving fast these days. I will be putting up another post right after these comments. I found her husband!!!

Yes the boutique will be nice because she will be able to see lots of different ladies. She will also be able to occassionally bring the baby to work. She will have to hire someone else to help in the store. Perfect opportunity for me to bring in one of those college students.

Yes she is close to Artsy's complexion. BUY the doll. You won't be sorry. If nothing else you will have another body and you can save her head for a rainy day. I don't want you searching for her on ebay 10 months from now.

  7. Frannie - No name for the shop yet. I am having a name block at the moment. I'm trying to get these two named, because they will be attending the cookout. Definitely need names for that.

  10. Ms Lydia - I was going to ask your alter ego if she did commercial spaces. But since I have you here, it will save me a trip to the studio. Do you know if she does commercial spaces? LOLOL.

I can't wait to see your boutique when it's done. The new Adele is nice. I can't believe you are buying something that isn't Trichelle.

  13. william - I have so many unfinished projects over here, but at least it allows me to keep rolling the camera. I think you will enjoy the 2.5s. I am happy to be able to use all those old Model Muse clothes that didn't fit anyone else. How's that story coming along?

  15. I was looking at your pictures of your new 2.5 doll and I kept thinking the names Brianne and Marie in my head, maybe those could be her and he baby's name? Just a thought, unless you already have dolls named that or just don't want to.

  16. Kaye - Thanks for the suggestions! I will add them to the list of possibilities. I will be naming them before they show up in the next video, but at the moment I haven't made any decisions.
