Sweet potatoe pie has always been my favorite pie. My mom, like a lot of moms, make a mean sweet potatoe pie. Of course I would only get it at Thanksgiving time, which was fine with me. I just recently learned to make a healthy version of sweet potatoe pie. This sweet potatoe pie is the first addition to my "Southern Cuisine" food that is currently available in my Etsy shop.
Hmmm, I wonder if Danielle has fixed that pie for anyone in particular.
I made two sweets and one apple.
That lattice top is as difficult as it looks.
But the finished product is worth the work.
Yummy! You got the texture just right too!
ReplyDeleteDani - Thanks! Me and sweet potatoe pie, we go way back. I'd know that texture anywhere.
ReplyDeleteYum, yum, yum; I want sum/I mean some. It looks soooooo good. I can smell the spices you used.
ReplyDeleteDani is right, you got the texture right, too. How in the world do you do the things you do?

Sweet Potato Pie Yummmy Mmmmmh All I Need Is A Large Can Of Whip Cream and One Whole Sweet Potato Pie To My Self And Top It With The Whole Can Of Whip Cream And I'll Be Good For The Rest Of The Day Thank You For The Sweet Potato Pie My Favorite..
ReplyDeleteAnonymous - I apologize. I accidentally erase your comment when I was trying to erase my duplicate comment. But I read it. I am with you on the whole pie deal. I never needed whip cream for my pie, but your way sounds nice and gooey.
ReplyDeleteDBG - I did use real nutmeg so before I glazed it, even the smell was realistic. I have really started studying the little nuances of food. My immediate thought when I see something (any and everything) is "how can I make that?" When I say everything, I mean everything. Today when I was in the DR office waiting for him, I literally broke down the entire office trying to figure out how to replicate it. From the sink and faucet handles to the chair rail to the molding. I went to a business office several hours later for my mom, and the ten minutes I was there, I had that room broken down and replicated in my head. It is a blessing and a curse, and very tiring to my brain.
ReplyDeleteIts Okay But Its Not Really Nice And Gooey, Its Nice An Flavory
ReplyDeleteAnonymous - You know, I had marshmallow fluff on the brain when I made that comment. I haven't had that stuff since I was in college.
ReplyDeleteMy Mom makes sweet potato pie in a graham cracker crust. Ohhhhh sooo good.

ReplyDeleteD7ana - I keep telling you guys that dolly food is calorie free, but still very delicious.
ReplyDeleteDollz4Moi - Thanks. If I make the food I crave in miniature it almost feels like I had it in real life. Definitely saves on all those unwanted calories.
Wow! I totally thought it was real until I read the post.
ReplyDeleteAnonymous (#2) - Thanks. That's exactly the reaction I was going for. lol.
