Dasia Shops at Ni'Chalets

I know what you are thinking.  Dasia shopping?  Doesn't she have enough clothes?  She loves clothes as much as most women.  After church she convinced her husband to stop by Ni'Chalet's for a few minutes.

Mr. Reed has assumed the male position.  Dasia is wearing her new houndstooth suit.

"Honey, would you mind holding my purse while I shop?"  (Dasia)
"Hand it here.  Maybe you should consider carrying a smaller purse that's more manageable."  (Mr. Reed)

"So what can I help you find today?"  (Racquel)

"I just need a casual outfit.  Maybe some capris and a top."  (Dasia)
"I have just the thing.  Come with me."  (Racquel)
Racquel and Dasia makes their way to the new Plus Size section, where Racquel picks out a cute black and white outfit.

Dasia appears out of the dressing room, pleased as punch.  This is just what she was looking for.
"So what do you think?"  (Racquel)
"I love it.  Let me get a closer look in the front mirror."  (Dasia)

So here it is.  A lightweight black knit crossover blouse and lightweight white capris.  Dasia immediately starts envisioning these capri pants with other tops she has at home.

The red and white silk blouse.

The blue and red floral blouse.  She then started envisioning pieces the black top would complement.

The leopard skirt.

Her charcoal skirt.  Her thoughts are interrupted as Racquel approaches her.

"So do we have a winner?"  (Racquel)
"Yes.  I will take both pieces."  (Dasia)
"Will that be all today?"  (Racquel)
"Yes.  I'll come back and browse a little more next week when I am alone.  I saw a few more pieces that caught my eye."  (Dasia)

Dasia pays for her items and she and husband head home.  Dasia had one more stop to make.  She needed to stop by the tailors and finally get the buttons sewn on her suit.

Here is the final result.  She was quite pleased.

She tried it on with her new outfit just to see what it looked like.

FYI:  The blouse, capri pants, and the suit will be listed in my Etsy store later this evening.

World Doll Day (Tag)

I've been tagged by Billa's Dolls and Fashions as part of a World Doll Day tag.  I'm not exactly sure when World Doll Day was.  Maybe someone will clue me in.  Anyhow, the rules of this tag are as follows:

1.  List 3 favorite dolls from the ones you got last year.
2.  List 3 dolls currently on your wishlist.
3.  Tag 5 people to do the same thing.

I barely remember buying dolls last year, but once I went back through my blog, I was reminded of a few faves.

#1 PRETTIE GIRLS Lena, Dahlia, and Kimora by One World Project.

#2 BARBIE LOOK  Red Carpet Gold Gown.  I knew the moment I saw this doll listed on BarbieCollector.com that she would be part of my collection.  She did not disappoint.

#3  Barbie Doll 2007 by Robert Best.  I found her for a great price at the a local doll show last year.  She's a real beauty.

I don't really have a wishlist.  Most of the dolls that were on my grail list, I have already purchased.  However, below are a few dolls that I enjoy and wouldn't mind if they ended up in my collection.

#1  Bus Stop Darla Daley.  I almost purchased her a couple of times when she first came out.  I loved this whole look for her.  I don't have a Darla Daley in the collection, and I think one day that will change.

#2  The Midas Touch (First AA Poppy)  Isn't she gorgeous?  I will never own her, but I'm content just watching her from afar.
Image property of Integrity Toys

#3 Incognito Elsa Lin 16" from Integrity Toys.  I have a few 16" dolls here, but I haven't bought one in a long time.  This lady is just gorgeous from head to toe.  Love the styling.

#3.5  And one more for good measure.  Super Natural Anais McKnight 16".  Another beauty from head to toe.

I am tagging the following people.  If you don't want to participate, I completely understand.  If I didn't tag you and you would like to play, feel free.

1.  Jewell
2.  AG Lanc
3.  Janainah
4.  D7ana ( I know you have already been tagged, so you only have to do it once.  Lol)
5.  Cindi Mortensen  (This may help get you back to the dolls.  Who knows.)

Here All Along

Dasia's husband and family were here all along.  If I had just walked to the basement, I would have seen them.  This is the type of man I pictured for Dasia.  This is principal Reed.  Dasia Reed....has a nice ring to it.

So that means Pastor Carmelia is Dasia's daughter.  She has three grandchildren.  Two are pictured here.  Her son, Falcon has also arrived.  We will get to see him as soon as he gets himself together.  He is as fine in person as he was in his pictures.

They love their Grammy.

"Oh No She Didn't"!

Finding a dolly online husband is a little like online dating in real life.   It might look perfect for you on that computer, but getting together can be a whole different story.  My Kaustik guy arrived a couple days ago, and he is even better in person.  Unfortunately, he and Dasia did not mesh.  However, he and Roberta immediately latched on to each other.  Apparently, they were kind of seeing each other when she was in Florida.  There will be a story soon to give more details about that.

"I can't believe that heifer stole my husband.  Let me get a little closer."  (Dasia)

"Dang, and he's fine.  Look at that body."  (Dasia)

Yes, look at that body.  And guess what?  His chest is soft and pliable.  Perfect for dolly squeezing.  Roberta is going to have a great time with this one.

I'm sorry he didn't work out for Dasia, but I'm very happy that Roberta has a man.

One reason why Dasia and the new guy didn't work out is because of the difference in their head sizes.  Dasia has a fairly big head, and I don't think a regular action figure guy is going to work with her.  So I hopped on line to see if I could find an older looking Starting Line Up sports figure.  They have relatively big heads, too.

The only guy I could find that looked old enough, was this guy.  I thought he might work with a few adjustments.  In real life this player, Mike Messier, is white, but they gave his figure a serious tan, so I thought he could pass for a light skinned black guy.  I love the outfits these guys come in.  There's one major problem.  I can't seem to get his gloves off, which tells me,he probably doesn't have any hands.  I was able to remove the nice skates and he does have feet.

So here he is with Dasia.  They have comparable head sizes, which is good.  I will have to give him a new body, and I may paint him a slight darker shade to give him a little more color.  All in all, I think this match will eventually grow on me.

Prepping for Hubby

Now that Ms. Dasia knows she has a handsome, buff, hubby coming, she wanted some new sexy nightgowns.  This is the first one completed.  You can't go wrong with a slinky leopard double side slit nightie.

She's holding it up to show the side slits.

Hubby is going to be very happy.

Married with a Kid

I put my foot in my mouth the other day when I said Dasia had a husband waiting for dinner.  You guys jumped right on that, and I knew I would need to go find her a husband.  My initial thought was that he would just be one of those husbands no one ever sees, but the excitement a few of you had about meeting her family sent me on a hunt.  I knew it wouldn't be easy.

In my search I ran across, Captain America:  The Falcon, and I was blown away.  He was so detailed and life-like.  I wanted to reach out and touch him.  He was too young to be Dasia's husband, but he sure would make a nice son.  His full figure price retailed for $240.  I was able to find his head, but even that was $49 (free shipping).  More than I wanted to pay.  But as I searched and searched, I realized that $49 was cheap compared to what others were selling his head for.  I already have extra new bodies here, so I took the plunge.

I'm just getting the head, but I wanted to share the full figure with you.

So my search for Dasia's husband continued.  Debbie of Black Doll Collecting shared a link to a fabulous Danny Glover figure, but he's really new and I couldn't find his head anywhere.   So I continued looking.  I finally ran across a figure at Cotswold Collectibles, I thought could work.  He was a Kaustic Plastik nude full figure for $49 + shipping.  More than I wanted to pay, but at least I would be getting a head and an awesome body.  It took me a few hours to decide, but again I took the plunge.  You folks sure can persuade a girl to spend some money.  I'm putting Dasia back to work.

I think Ms. Dasia is going to be very happy!

By the way, is the blog still readable with the new bluish background?  If not, let me know and I will make the necessary changes.

Chatting After Church (Photostory)

After reading some blog posts today, I was motivated to do a quick story.  Not to mention Dasia put on her new dress and went to church today.  (It's Sunday here in Morristown).  So Roberta invited Camille and Daisa over for tea and treats.  They have been chatting for hours.  With Roberta being new to town, the ladies are catching her up on all the juicy gossip and other critical things she needs to know.

"Well this has been quite enlightening.  Such a small town, but the people are quite interesting."  (Roberta)

"An eclectic community, but it's a great place to raise a family."  (Dasia)
"Are there any senior meeting groups here in town.  That is very popular in Florida."  (Roberta)

"There isn't anything formal at the moment, but that could be a great project for us to get started."  (Camille)
"It's always great to get together and do day trips or go see a matinee.  I personally love staying busy.  You know they say it helps keep away the alzeimers."  (Roberta)
"That and crossword puzzles."  (Dasia)
The ladies start laughing.  They are interrupted by the phone ringing.
"Excuse me, ladies."  (Roberta)

"Hellooo.  (pause)  Oh hi honey.  Yes, I'm just sitting here shooting the breeze with a couple of friends from church.  (pause)  Oh I almost forgot I was keeping the boys tonight.  Goodness is it  5' o clock already?  This day has flown by.  (pause)   Yes, okay.  I'll see you guys in a few."  (Roberta)

Roberta replaces the receiver on the hook.

"I almost forgot that I agreed to keep my grandsons while my daughter and her husband go out to dinner."  (Roberta)

"Can I get you ladies more coffee or something else to eat?"  (Roberta)

"If I drink any more coffee, I think I will float away."  (Camille)

"And if I eat another bite,  I'm going to pop a button on this dress."  (Dasia)

"Well I'll just sit and relax then.  It has been such a treat having you guys over.  We will have to do this again soon."  (Roberta)

"And I'm serious about us starting a seniors meetup group."  (Camille)

"Count me in for that.  I have a closet full of nice clothes and nowhere to wear them."  (Dasia)
**DING DONG**

"Excuse me again ladies.  That must be Danielle and the boys.  I'll be right back."  (Roberta)

Camille and Dasia continue talking as Roberta heads downstairs to the door.

Roberta peeks through the side window to make sure it's Danielle.  She happily opens the door and ushers them in.

"Hi mom.  Thanks so much for watching the boys."  (Danielle)
"Hi grandma."  (Julian)

"Hi sweeties."  (Roberta to the kids)
"Why do you have them dressed in those hot clothes?  (Roberta to Danielle)
"Because your house is always like an ice box.  I wanted them to be comfortable."  (Danielle)
"I guess I still think I'm in Florida."  (Roberta)

"You want to come up and say hello to Camille and Dasia?"  (Roberta)
"Mom, I can't.  I still have to go home and change.  I promised Rod I would be on time today."  (Danielle)
"Okay, honey.  Well enjoy your time and if you need to leave the boys here overnight, that's not a problem."  (Roberta)
"I'll call you later and let you know.  I really have to run.  Here is Jacob's truck.  This will keep him busy."  (Danielle)
Danielle kisses the boys goodbye and heads out.

"Are you two hungry or thirsty?"  (Roberta)
"No, we just ate at home. Grandma can I watch tv?"  (Julian)
"First you have to say hello to my friends.  Let's go upstairs."  (Roberta)
"On the elevator?!"  (Julian)
"Yes, of course.  Grab Jacob's hand."  (Roberta)

"I wish we had an elevator at home.  Walking up those stairs gets so tiring."  (Julian)
"What in the world do you know about getting tired?  By the way, little boys shouldn't be walking around with their chest out, so let's zip up that sweatshirt."  (Roberta)

"Are you ladies doing okay?"  (Roberta)

"We are just fine."  (Camille)

"Sorry it took so long.  I just wanted to make sure they weren't hungry.  Boys, please say hello to Mrs. Camille and Mrs. Dasai."  (Roberta)
The boys say hello simultaneously.

"Hello young men."  (Camille)

"Aren't grandchildren the best.  You can spoil them rotten and then send them home.  Speaking of home, I better be getting to mine.  Sunday dinner is prepared, but if I'm not there to serve it, it will sit there untouched."  (Dasia)
"I better be heading out, too.  My husband has texted me three times in the last hour, so I know he's wondering when I'm coming home."  (Camille)
"Well I will walk you guys out.  Thanks again for coming.  We will reconvene real soon."  (Roberta)
Roberta turns on the tv before she heads downstairs.  She instructs the boys to sit on the sofa and wait for her to return.

When she returns the boys are watching one of their favorite cartoons, Transformers.

"Jacob let's get these shoes off.  Pee-uuu.  Stinky feet."  (Roberta)
Roberta is so happy to have her grandchildren living so close.  Florida was nice, but being able to see her grandchildren grow up will be priceless.

She will probably need to get another tv.  There's no way she will be able to watch these crazy cartoons on a regular basis.
