In yesterday's story, Racquel mentioned she needed to stop by the store before going home, This got me motivated to do the grocery store. When I initially showed the store in a story with Terrance and Jordan, I knew it would be dismantled right after the story. At the time I did not have a permanent place for it. With my recent reorganization, a space opened up.
For the moment it will stay the crazy colors. The pink and purple will be painted later. I was able to stock some of the shelves, but more products will be added over time. Signage is still not up, but it's coming.
"Pierre, we won't be here long. I just need to grab a few things. We can't eat out every night." (Nicole)
This is Roy. He is a manager at the store, but Jordan is making all her managers run the store by themselves for the first couple of months. She wants them to understand how to work in every department.
At the moment he is manning the Meat and Seafood counter.
Naisha and Kimaya are out shopping.
There's Racquel and Nichelle.
The goal is to have all handmade fruits and vegetables. Here are mushrooms I made early last year.
I made these Idaho potatoes early last year, too.
The meat and seafood counter will also have mostly handmade items.
I made the fish back with the beach series. Remember when Rod went fishing?
Raw chicken and steak are made from polymer clay. I'm sure I can do a better job at the steaks, now, but chances are I will just use these.
These are some of the household supplies.
This is mostly drinks; juices and soda.
This is the freezer/refrigerator.
On the top shelf are the frozen items.
The middle shelf has the dairy products.
The bottom shelf has ice cream, beer and wine. This refrigerator system is top of the line. It knows which products need freezing and which ones don't.
By the way, Diego did come see Halle last night. It's the morning time and he is still there. Hmmm. Halle has fixed him and egg and ham bagel for breakfast.
Halle can throw down in the kitchen. This item is from Rement. I did not make it.
So I am ecstatic about the grocery store! Now if someone would just say they need to go see the Pediatrician, I would get that room done, too.
Oh my goodness, all of this stuff is just so wonderful. I think I love the mushrooms the best XD
ReplyDeleteI know where my girls are going when it's dolly apocalypse! XD
Heather - Thanks. Your girls are welcome any time.
DeleteMy gals are fueling up the car... On the way to Morristown to shop lol
ReplyDeleteLooks great! Love all food and extra stuff you have there:)
Chynadoll - I will get an eye out for them. I can't wait to make more fruits and vegetables.
DeleteIdaho potatoes baked and slathered with melted butter and freshly ground black peppercorns ... ohhhh ....
ReplyDeleteYou did an excellent job with those potatoes. That would be the first thing on my grocery list ;-D
D7ana - I forgot how much of a foodie you are. You can describe food like no one else I know.
DeleteAw ... thanks!
DeleteBut your potatoes would bring out the poet in anyone ;-D
Gah! My dolls here are now questioning me about my promise to build them a grocery store! It looks lovely, and I'm pleased to see Halle keeping Diego :).
ReplyDeleteVerona - I'm sorry to be the cause of your dollies putting more pressure on you. I know how frustrating that can be. Send them over here to shop in the meantime.
DeleteHello from spain: wow wow wow... wonderful, gorgeous, marvellous... I like very much every food. I like your fish. Your grocery store looks like a real ... I like everything you teach in the store. It is a perfect store. Keep in touch
ReplyDeleteMarta - Thanks so much! I am looking forward to slowly getting it finished.
DeleteI want to go shopping in your grocery!!!!
ReplyDeleteSergio - Well, come on over!
DeleteI love your shop, specially like the food you made out of polymerclay. I am filling a 1:12 fruits and veggies stall (see http://diaryofaminiaturist.blogspot.com/) but you inspired me to make some bigger ones too, my Barbies and Sindy needs to eat too!
ReplyDeleteMaria - Thanks. Glad you are no longer starving your Barbies and Sindys. Your blog will be inspiring when I start my miniature house project.
DeleteLove the grocery store :)
ReplyDeleteAdrian - Thanks. We definitely needed a grocery store. I need more spots where the elite group and the regular people can coexist.
DeleteHalle and Diego sitting in a tree... next comes a baby carriage. ^_^
ReplyDeleteThis is the perfect corner grocery store, but, does it take coupons, 'cause you know I got coupons!
Muff - Halle and Diego, just like Darius and Nikke will be those babyless couples. They bet not pop up expecting!
DeleteWe got you on the coupons and the sales. You will enjoy our store.
I use to be all in the soda aisle now I'm in the fruit and veggie aisle!
ReplyDeleteEbony - Way to go on the fruits and veggies! We hid the soda on the bottom shelf so hopefully people won't be drawn to it. Of course, being that low, it's easily spotted by any kid walking around.
DeleteHey, tell Halle that the sandwich look alot like Jimmy Dean! Yep! I'm questioning her cooking. Who makes a breakfast sandwich?
ReplyDeleteThe market look great and I love the food you made...almost as much I the food I got from you! I'll send you and email. :)
Ms. Leo - You may be right about the Jimmy Dean sandwich. I just assumed since she cooked him such a wonderful dinner not too long ago. Glad your package arrived safely.
DeleteMan I need to spend some time in your kitchen so I can learn how to make food. My market is a permanant spot in Grace's Grove. I was going to make a story to show it but I dont know about that now, I dont have any food in that market that looks like yours.
ReplyDeletemustiwait - Oooh can't wait to see your store. We want to see it with or without food. You see that mine is far from finished. If I waited until things were completely finished, the only thing you guys would ever see are the things I put in my Etsy store.
DeleteGrocery store is coming along nicely. Love all of your food and miniature details.
ReplyDeleteGeorgia Girl - Thanks. Maybe your ladies will stop there for snacks after the reception. Now that I think about it, they shouldn't need snacks after eating the at wedding.
DeleteI went shopping this morning and the potatoes I bought look just like the ones in your store - fantastic realism. Why a pediatrician?
ReplyDeleteCarrickters - Are you sure you weren't at my store when you got those potatoes. LOL! Thanks for the compliment. Are you kidding about the pediatrician? All these kids in Morristown. Not to mention I bought a new playset months ago and haven't opened it yet. I did a pediatrician video in 2010 (my these years are flying) so I already have characters that need to get back to work.
DeleteDiego and Halle...swoon! LOVE this couple!
ReplyDeleteThe market came together really nice! You have it stocked well, and of course, love the food items you made.
Lovin' Morristown!
Tracy - I really like Halle and Diego together, too. He treats her well. I am happy to have this project underway. Won't be long for that doll tour. The main thing now is to put covers to hide the storage area and to straighten up the houses that have been moved.
DeleteHey! I just saw on another blog, in the comments, you talking about Stardolls... and that you actually use the Stardoll bucks.
ReplyDeleteI have some I never intend to use if you're interested... just shoot me an email:
littlebearries@yahoo.com
Vanessa this grocery is gorgeous! I purchased the "So Much to Do Supermarket" off of Ebay because it was my absolute FAVORITE playset when I was a kid. Seeing how nicely your grocery is coming together is inspiring me to put it to use! Thank you!
ReplyDeleteTabitha - Thanks! First I got the MyScene Grocery store for an incredible price from ebay. Then I got the So Much to Do Supermarket for an incredible price directly from a collector. I think there are other grocery store pieces from a Barbie set that was sold in the last 10 years. I had enough pieces to set up 3 checkout stands, but not enough space. It's going to be a fun project.
DeleteThe handmade food is awesome, far more better than the plastic toy ones!
ReplyDeleteRossetti - Thanks. I will be donating the plastic food to a couple of little girls once I replace them.
DeleteThe store looks great and is so very well stocked. Your food items are look so real.
ReplyDeleteThat refrigerator is amazing, too -- allows you to stock ice cream and beer on the same shelf.
:-)
Great job.
dbg
DBG - Thanks. Only in the world of make believe can you have a smart refrigerator/freezer. I take that back. With what they are doing with technology today, this may already exist in the real world and I don't know it. I am way behind in keeping up with new technology.
DeleteJulian said he has a sore throat and its been going on for quite a while. He might need to be checked for strep. ;-)
ReplyDeleteGirl you are so talented with the food. The mushrooms were very impressive.
Kenya - It took me awhile to get the first sentence. Finally realized you are directing me to build the peds office. Julian IS NOT sick. He can't be sick. Rod and Danielle have enough to deal with right now. Not to mention those kids have gotten mad video time. Someone else needs to go to the peds office.
