Inside the Miniature House
Happy belated Mother's Day to all the moms out there. I wanted to post yesterday, but my internet was acting up because of the storm we had. My company has left, so I can get back to life as I know it. It was wonderful visiting with family. I needed that little mini break.
Back in February, I did a post on a miniature house I had in my basement. This weekend with the help of my brother, I moved it into Morristown. I plan to finally do a miniature house. In my previous attempts, I was too impatient to do it correctly.. This time I will take my time and go step by step.
Here is the inside. It has a total of 7 rooms and a couple of hallways.
I have no idea what style I am going for, or what each room will be. Some of them are obvious, but there is a lot of leeway to be creative.
The first step will be the wiring. I took a miniature wiring class a number of years ago. The gentleman at the local dollhouse shop told me I could audit another course just for a refresher. I may take him up on that. Lights can be expensive. I am thinking about making my own.
After wiring will be picking out the wallpapers. I have a few miniature wallpapers in my stash. I will get creative and use some of the same type items I use for the fashion doll dioramas to keep the cost down.
Then comes the fun part. Furniture and accessories! Let's hope I haven't pitched it out the window by time I get to this part of the project.
Don't worry. The fashion dolls will continue to take center stage. This house will be worked on in my spare time or when I get bored with the other stuff.
Here is a picture of the outside in case you missed the original post.
I will catch up on blog reading before tomorrow, if my internet connection stops acting crazy.
