Family Fun Day - Jetskiing!

If you saw my post yesterday, you know that Morristown had Family Fun Day this past Labor Day.  I will post that photostory later today.  After a lot of the activities, some of the residents took to the water on the new jetski.

After the fun these three had mopeding, Faith convinced them to go jetskiing.  They realized they didn't have bathing suits, but they didn't care!

"Faith, aren't you going a little fast?"  (Jasmine)
"You're supposed to go fast."  (Faith)

I now realize that Faith is a little dare devil.

After Diego's win on the basketball court, he and Halle even ventured out on the water.  No real surprise here.  After all he is a motorcycle rider.

"That's it, honey.  Now give it a little more power."  (Diego)

"There you go!"  (Diego)

Finally, Sean, Shannon's dad, took her, Nikaya, and Todd out for a ride.

Tyler was having a great time.

Raven arrived after most of the activities were over.  She had a prior family engagement.  Ian tried to convince her to go jetskiing, but she didn't want any part of it.  So they just took a walk.

"So how was the luncheon?" (Ian)
"It was nice, but I would have rather been here."  (Raven)

"Well, I spent most of the time playing basketball.  We had a 3-on-3 tournament." (Ian)
"Did you win?"  (Raven)
"Did I win?  What kind of question is that?  Don't I always win?"  (Ian)
"Oh boy.  You better kiss me before your head explodes."  (Raven)

[Ian has basketball hair.  LOL!  I need to reflock him. His hair came off when I first got him.  Mattel sent me a refund.  Now that I have flocking material, I will take care of him.]

EPILOGUE
These pictures were taken at my boyfriend's complex.  I was fortunate enough to have the pool all to myself.  I'm sure I was getting some interesting looks from some of those windows as I was doing the photoshoot.  I felt like one of the rap artists who rent out houses with pools, to do music videos. LOL!

How much do I love you guys and my dolls?  Well, I haven't put on a bathing suit and gotten into an outdoor pool in ......  Let's just say it's been so long that I can't even remember.  The last time I remember being outdoors in a pool, I was about 12 yrs old.  I did swim a few times in the pool at my gym.  That was four years ago.  I must say it felt good being outside in the water.

The jetski is very nice.  The tube that Todd was riding in has two holes in it.  I had to make sure the tube didn't fill up with water, otherwise it wouldn't float for long.  Todd and I figured it out, though.   It is a wonderful prop.  As you can see, it can hold three adult dolls as well.

Debbie Designs Her New Line

Seeing the new Tim Gunn dolls inspired me to sew a little bit.  I was excited because all of the things I dreaded doing just months ago, were no longer an issue.  Things like, changing the thread after each garment, sewing darts, sewing on snaps, etc, weren't a thorn in my side this time around.  Now, I am not even close to where I need to be, or where I used to be with my sewing, but I can see light at the end of the tunnel.

Debbie has hired Shantavia to take pictures of some of the pieces in her new line.  None of the outfits are finished, but this will give her an idea of how the line is flowing together so far.
"Okay, I need each piece shot with the model standing and sitting.  I only have a few pieces, so I am a hoping we can be out of here within 2 hours."  (Debbie)

"I don't think that will be an issue.  Shooting outside always helps the photoshoots go quicker."  (Shantavia)

"Great.  My assistant sent me a text to say Ms. Berry is on her way out.  So you can go ahead and set up."  (Debbie)

Halle emerges wearing the first piece.  A blue and white floral pencil skirt.  It is paired with a plain white tank, but it could also be paired with black or navy blue.

The second piece is another pencil skirt with soft green floral designs and a light cream background.  It's paired with a light cream top, but it would also look nice with white.

The third piece is a fuller skirt.  The overskirt is a sheer fabric with shades of mauve and white, with silver accents.  The underskirt is a soft pink. (The finishing on the edges aren't great.  I was experimenting at this point.  I did finally get the right stitch numbers).

Staying very feminine, the fourth piece is a peach dress with a simple bodice and full skirt.  The simple embroidery on the top and bottom adds enough detail to keep it very soft.  (A peach ribbon will probably be added to the waistband.)

This design will also accommodate any of the expecting mothers in Morristown.

The final piece is a little more versatile.  Here it is worn as a skirt and paired with a black top.  It would look nice paired with white or navy blue.  It's very loose and very comfortable, while at the same time very chic looking.

It was also designed to be worn as a dress.  This is a perfect day to night wear piece.  Paired with a nice black scarf or shawl, and it's a nice dress for dinner at a lovely restaurant.

The photoshoot is over, and they were able to meet their time deadline.

"Thank you Ms. Berry.  You did a wonderful job.  I really hope you will be available in a few weeks when I have more pieces to shoot."  (Debbie)

"Just give me a call.  I love your clothes, and I would love to see the rest of the line."  (Halle)
Debbie goes to finish up with Shantavia, and Halle goes to get dressed.

"Thank you, thank you.  When do you think the pictures will be ready?"  (Debbie)

"It won't take long.  I can have them to you by Friday."  (Shantavia)
"That's great!"  (Debbie)
Meanwhile, Halle has returned.

She is talking to Diego, who arrived about half an hour ago.  It had been awhile since he'd been to a photoshoot, and he decided to come watch a little of this one.
"Are you all set?"  (Diego)
"Just about.  I can't find my shoes.  I think they may have accidentally put them with the prop shoes.  But let me go say good bye to Debbie, then we'll find my shoes and be on our way."  (Halle)

"Thank you so much Debbie."  (Halle)
"No, thank you.  I'll be calling you soon."  (Debbie)

Halle Had to Get Back to Work

I had to send Halle back to work.  She had too much time on her hands and she was making some questionable decisions.  She's the type of doll lady who needs to stay busy.  So she's introducing my new suede sofa.  Nice and simple, yet sleek and classy.  Now available in my Etsy store.

Halle decided to go for a very casual look to accentuate the comfort of this piece.

She even chose not to wear any shoes.

An Unexpected Meeting (PhotoStory)

It's lunchtime on Saturday afternoon.  Meg has stopped by the diner for a burger and fries.

"You doing okay over here, dear?"  (Waitress)

"I'm doing just fine.  I'm just taking my time trying to enjoy every bite.  You guys make the best burgers."  (Meg)

Over in the corner of the diner are Halle and Brad.  Huh?  Well turns out Brad took a condo in the same building that Halle lives in.  So the post office is not the only place they have met recently.

"I'm really surprised that you asked me out to lunch."  (Brad)

"Well, I'm just doing the neighborly thing."  (Halle)

"Besides, I've been thinking.  I have a really good friend that I would like to introduce you to."  (Halle)
"Wait a minute.  I don't need help finding a date."  (Brad)

"Don't think of it as a date.  Just think of it as two new people in town, meeting, and exploring the town."  (Halle)

"Hmmm.  Let me tell you what I think.  I think you like me and this is your way of making me less available, so you won't be tempted.  How am I doing so far?"  (Brad)

"Can I get you two anything else?"  (Waitress)
"No, thank you."  (Halle)

"I am perfectly happy with my boyfriend.  I don't have any ulterior motives.  I was just trying to be helpful."  (Halle)
"I see.  So where is this boyfriend?"  (Brad)
"If you must know, he is out riding with his buddies."  (Halle)
"I see."  (Brad)

"Would you please stop saying, 'I see'."  (Halle)
"Would you rather me tell you how beautiful you are?"  (Brad)
"Definitely not.  Can you please focus?"  (Halle)

Oh goodness.  I think Halle is playing with fire.  Where the heck is Diego?
