New Family, the Robinsons and a New Couple

Meet the Robinsons.  Frank and Michelle have 2 little girls.  Mikayla is 3 and Chloe is 4 months old.  This is my country family.  They love everything outdoors; camping, fishing, canoeing, etc.  They live in a small country town away from the hustle and bustle of city life, but not too far that they can't partake in some of the in town activities when necessary.  If you recall, Michelle is one of the assistants at the Pediatrician's Office.

Here's proud Papa with his two little angels.

Michelle has a younger sister, Natasha.

They are very different in personalities, but still very close.

Natasha is currently dating bad boy, Ryan. He is a member of the infamous Harley Davidson club.

Walmart has lost their minds! They just increased the Basic Accessory Price

It was bad enough that Walmart was selling the Barbie Basic Accessory Packs for $19.99, when the retail price is $14.99.  I thought only specialty stores sold products for more than the retail price, not supposed big box discount stores. Well today when I went to Walmart, I walked down the doll aisle as usual, and those crooks have raised the price of the accessory packs to $21.97.  Huh???  Are you kidding me?  Aren't these the same packs that Target just had on sale for $12.99, marked down from $14.99?  They have the audacity to have this huge sign up saying, "We will match competitors prices."  How about you just not price gouge on some of your products.  I don't think Mattel is charging you any more than they are charging Target.

The Pediatrician Diorama and Video

Took me an extra day to get it finished. My Saturday shopping escapade threw me off schedule. But it is finished.
A few things to note as you are watching the video:
1)  I got a chance to use the white cabinet and two dolls (Stepanie and Dr. Pai) from my Doll Finds at the last November doll show.
2)  Dr. Pai is a rubberized doll.  She is completely bendable.  I used this doll because she reminds me of my dentist, Dr. Pai, who just did a fantastic job on my recent dental work.
3)  If you are wondering why Lisa is carrying an orange purse with that outfit, she spilled milk in the diaper bag, and this was the only purse she had that was big enough for her stuff and the baby's stuff.
4) Jessica is an Only Hearts toddler doll. She is wearing a Kelly outfit. She was wonderful to work with because of her totally poseable body.
5) Certificates, clocks, checkbook, money, folders, and some of the other items on the shelf behind the desk, are from Jim's Printable minis.
6) My makeshift baby scale: I made the bottom from polymer clay and the top is from a small stroller I have.

Side note: I shot this video with the tripod and it made all the difference.  I only had one unusable picture!

Hope you enjoy!

Photos from my upcoming video - Visiting the Pediatrician

My upcoming video takes place at the pediatrician's office. Here are a few shots. The video should be posted by this weekend.

There's baby Aiden.

There's Lisa and baby Chelsea.

Isn't she adorable? Not sure what happened to her socks.

The ladies are getting ready to call the first patient.
That's my newly purchased Barbie Basic, rebodied.

Too Many Doll Purchases! Those Darn Barbie Basics!

Have you ever had the feeling that you were spending too much money on something, but you couldn't stop yourself?  I can always recognize when this is happening.  Luckily, it doesn't happen very often.  End of last month, I made quite a few ebay purchases in a 2 week period.  I justified that by saying, "It's Christmas and these are the only gifts I am going to receive."

Well here we are in January and for the first four days of this year, I have spent too much money on doll stuff already. I blame all those people on those doll blogs I've been reading.  What enablers!!! Now that the Barbie Denim Basics is sort of out at some of the Targets, I have been on a search to get a few of them.  I am particularly interested in getting all of the men.  I guess in my mind, I feel that there are going to be limited men dolls available and I will miss out if I don't get them quickly.  This has fueled my trip to 5 Targets, 3 Walmarts and a ToysRUs.  I have had limited success, because here in GA, they are very slow at put the Denim Basics on the shelf.  Unfortunately, I have somehow talked myself into other things when on these trips.

So far I have bought the following:

Barbie Denim Basics #02 Love this doll. Her make-up is really nice.

Barbie Denim Basics #15

Barbie Basics #11 - I'd always wanted this doll, but never bought it. Now that the Denims were out, I realized she would probably not be available much longer.  I had just bought a Kelly doll from ebay that I knew would be a great daughter for her.

This is the jointed Kelly I just got from ebay.

Denim Basics accessory pack #2. Never thought I'd ever buy a pack, but couldn't pass this one up.

Basics Red #8 Never even thought about buying this doll, until I read a blog two days ago that had
this doll redressed.  Those enablers! She is beautiful though.

Of course I bought a few other items to use for dioramas and I made a couple of ebay purchases already.  Well I guess I better go make some more furniture.  I have to go sell some things to catch up with my purchases!

These are the two Barbie Basics that I bought when they first came out.  I was perfectly happy just having these two.  I don't know what has come over me.  I have a feeling I may OD on Barbie Basics as soon as the whole denim collection is in stock.
