Camille and Jacquelyn Have Arrived (Photostory)

Turns out Camille and Jacquelyn were headed to the bakery, Amore.  I think Camille gave us the impression that she was doing all the baking for the upcoming baby celebration for Kendra and Nate.  Not so.  She has enlisted the help of Penelope, owner of our town bakery.

The bakery has several rooms where Penelope meets with clients.  I will have to show you guys the main lobby one day, where the day to day sales take place.  We saw another tasting room when Rod and Danielle were sampling their wedding cake.

Penelope starts to make some coffee, then decides against it.  If they want coffee, she will just get some from the main lobby.

"Hello Camille.  So nice to see you again."  (Penelope)
"Hello Penelope.  I brought my daughter, Jacquelyn with me this time."  (Camille)
"Well come on in, let me show you what I've done, so far.  Would you guys care for some coffee?"  (Penelope)

The ladies decide against coffee and make their way in while Penelope situates herself behind the table.

"I decided to show the two dessert trays together so we can decide on final presentation.  Here is the first one we put together."  (Penelope)

"And here we have the second group of desserts we discussed." (Penelope)

"Here we have the teddy bear cookies, the baby block tea cakes, and the double layer lemon cake.  Why don't you taste the teddy bear cookies."  (Penelope)

"Oh, they turned out so cute."  (Camille)

"They are cute."  (Jacquelyn)
"I was thinking of the shower having a Teddy Bear theme."  (Camille)
"I don't know, mom.  Sometimes you go a little overboard when you do theme parties."  (Jacquelyn)
"Well it was just a thought."  (Camille)

"Well, let's move on to the baby blocks."  (Penelope)

"I did a sample of four with the words baby spelled out.  Who would like to taste?"  (Penelope)
"I'll taste this one."  (Jacquelyn)

"So cute! I really like this idea."  (Jacquelyn)

"And finally we have the lemon cake you requested."  (Penelope)
"Mom, why so many different desserts?  How many people are you inviting?"  (Jacquelyn)
"I just want to have a nice variety, and you never know who will show up.  It's better to have too much than not enough."  (Camille)

The ladies eat their treats, then sit down to finalize a few details

"I'm happy with the choices, but I would like to have the whole cakes displayed together on one tray, and the slices on another.  I may need a third tray before it's all said and done."  (Camille)

"That will be just fine."  (Penelope)

"Looking at my calendar, I may have to pick those up the morning before the celebration."  (Camille)
"Mom, I can pick those up for you.  You don't have to do everything yourself."  (Jacquelyn)
Jacquelyn knows that her mom will probably not take her up on the offer.

Camille has set the date for the celebration, but she hasn't told me yet.  Teddy bear cookies and a double layer cake will hit the Etsy store soon.  Baby blocks may make it there soon, too.

Where Are They Headed? (Photostory)

Who is this?

Oh look.  It's Camille Langford and her oldest daughter, Jacquelyn.  I wonder where they are going?

"Now that's a nice little car."  (Jacquelyn)

"Little is right.  That car shouldn't even be on the highway."  (Camille)
"It's not that bad.  It's bigger than those SmartCars."  (Jacquelyn)

"If you say so."  (Camille)

"Did I tell you, me, Grace and Dominique are planning to have a sleepover like we used to do before they became mothers."  (Jacquelyn)
"Oh that will be nice.  Are you guys inviting me?"  (Camille)
"We were thinking you can have your own sleepover with your granddaughters."  (Jacquelyn)

"Well that might be nice.  I haven't kept those munchkins overnight in a while now."  (Camille)

"So have you seen Kendra, lately?  How's she doing?"  (Jacquelyn)

"I've only talked to her on the phone.  She's almost on complete bed rest, and you know Dr. Nate is driving her crazy."  (Camille)
"I can only imagine what that husband of hers is putting her through."  (Jacquelyn)
"He means well."  (Camille)

"I really need to call her or go see her before the shower.  I have no excuse, now that I am back in town."  (Jacquelyn)
"I'm sure she would love the company.  If I didn't have a full schedule today, we could have swung by to see her."  (Camille)

Tune in tomorrow to see where they are headed!

Mrs. Langford's Update on the Luncheon

Camille Langford has been planning the congratulations luncheon for her niece, Kendra and her husband.  She's been working on her guest list and her menu.

Here she is showing a little of her dessert tray.  My mom found this perfectly sized display tray at the local thrift store.  There are three of them.  Camillie is very happy.

"Hello guys.  The party is coming soon.  I am so happy for my niece.  She's been to start her family for quite some time now.  Well, I better get back to work.  I still have a ton of work to do.  I have to head to Jordan's Grocer to get some things for my appetizers.  See you soon."

"Oops, I almost forgot.  Vanessa wanted me to tell you there is now a "Dolls For Sale" page.  Click on the tab up top to get there.  There aren't a lot of dolls there, because a number of them have sold, but she will be adding more real soon."

Newly Designed Sofa and New Family Addition

What a productive week this has been!  I just finished a newly designed sofa.  I've been wanting to add some new designs to the line and this is the first.  It wasn't what I initially designed.  Couldn't get my initial design to act right, so I made a few alterations.  I'm happy with the end result.  This one is currently listed in my Etsy shop.

This sofa is a little more modern and a little more casual.  The seat cushions are more pillowy (not a real word) which adds to the casual look.  It comes with a set of reversible throw pillows.  One side is a beautiful paisley.

The other side is the sofa fabric.  This allows the buyer to add their own pillows and change the entire look of the sofa.

The sofa still has a tailored look to it.

With the same level of details that come with my other sofas.  I am not taking any styles away (yet), I am adding to what will be available on my Etsy site.

You may be familiar with Grace and her daughter, Courtney .  Well meet Kevin.  He is Courtney's father.  He and Grace recently reunited after living separate lives the past two years.  They never made it down the aisle, even though they were engaged right after Grace got pregnant.  Mr. and Mrs. Langford were a little overbearing and this caused some problems in the relationship.  Now a little older, they wanted to give the relationship another chance.  Originally I had Courtney as a 5 yr old.  She doesn't appear to be as old as Julian,  even though they are the same size.  So I am adjusting her age to 4 1/2.

"Courtney, no candy right now.  I have a healthy snack for you in the kitchen."  (Grace)
"Oh, one little piece won't hurt her." (Kevin)

"Don't you remember being a kid and wanting to hear "yes" when you asked for a piece of candy?" (Kevin)

Grace turns to Kevin.  She wants to say something about how her mother made sure she had healthy snacks so her teeth wouldn't rot and maybe if someone had told him "no", he wouldn't have all those cavities.  She holds her tongue, realizing how anti-productive that statement would be, especially since it would seem like she was throwing his mother under the bus.  Instead she says nothing.  Courtney still didn't get the candy, but at least she and Kevin didn't spend the rest of the day brooding over hurt feelings.

I hope they can make the relationship work.

P.S.  Limbe dolls, I tried to introduce Kevin to Paulette first.  She was not feeling him, so he had to move on and find his place elsewhere.

Just Finished the Latest Custom Order

Along with the pants sewing that I did this weekend, that I blogged about earlier, I finished my latest custom order.  They are 3 seat cushion sofas.  Not normally what I do, so don't get any ideas.  LOL!

Jacquelyn is visiting with her mom and niece.  This is exactly the living room that the Langford's would have.  Maybe one day I will have enough time to bless them with such a room.

The Langfords are Getting a Dining Room

Remember the Langfords?  They are part of the Generations group.  I introduced them back in May 2011.  Well, they finally got their dining room started that I intended to do months ago.  Amazing how as soon as I announced that I was doing away with the other groups, Generations started getting their own rooms.  They are fighting hard to stay in the loop.  Their dining room is not finished, but I got a good start.  We are going to pretend that there are placemats on the table and that the table cloth is much nicer.  I want to get  a couple really nice floral arrangements.  That plant behind William is just a place holder for something I hope will be colorful and beautiful.  I need a top for the buffet that is just under the picture.  The elephant will probably go, since Camille is an AKA (sorority), not a Delta (who is all about the elephants).  I will also add the same wallpaper to the right wall.  Of course, lots more decorating is needed.

It is fitting that this family reappeared this month.  I re-read their story and I had forgotten that Camille is a 5 year breast cancer survivor.  It's nice that she came back during Breast Cancer Awareness month.  I wish I could take credit for great planning,  but it wasn't my doing.

Just a quick reintroduction.  William and Camille are at the heads of the table.  Jacquelyn, their oldest daughter is in the black dress.   She's single without children.  Dominique, in the hat, is one of the younger twin daughters.  She is not married and has a 2 yr old daughter who is seated with grandma.  Grace, the other twin is in the fushia outfit.  She too is unmarried and has a 5 yr old daughter that is sitting with grandpa.

Once ever month, usually the third Sunday, the entire family gathers at mom and dad's house for dinner.  It is a way to get up to date and for grandma and grandpa to have quality time with their granddaughters.  They refuse to get caught in the babysitting trap, so they don't do much of that.  The girls do stay over occassionally, but it is on grandpa, grandma time.

This is one of the few times that you will see Dominique dressed up.  Camille requires that the girls be properly dressed for dinner.

As you can imagine, Jacquelyn gets a lot of questions about her love life, or lack of one.  She always replies that she is looking for someone just like her daddy, and he just hasn't shown up yet.

William just eats that up.  He, unlike Camille, is fine with his daughter being single.  He has always been the overprotective father.

Hmmm.  I wonder if this is the family that will have the Thanksgiving dinner I was planning to do?  Wow, Thanksgiving is just around the corner.  Where did this year go?!

Sidenote::  Camille is Darius and his sister's aunt.  So they will probably pop over from time to time.
