Asian Buffet is Now Open

As you know Rod and Danielle are headed out to dinner with the family.  This was the perfect time to open the Asian Buffet restaurant.  It is still a work in progress.

The restaurant is very popular already after only a week of being open.

Here is the lobby.  Still needs some work.

Looks like they have a water leak in the lobby ceiling.  They will have to get that fixed.

Looking into the restaurant.

Now for a little story:
"How are you guys doing over here?" (Waitress)
"Just fine."  (Chris)
"Mommy, I need something to drink."  (Jolisa)
"After you eat some of your food, we will get you a drink."  (Kara)

Dad, half owner of Asian Buffet, is checking out the buffet.
Note:  This buffet will feature all Chinese/Asian food when I get a chance to make it.  The buffet hood is a plastic cover that came on my take out sushi.  The rope may be changed to metal chains in the future.

"So when is Mr. McGraw arriving?"  (Kara)
"I have to pick him up from the airport in two days."  (Chris)

"So how many songs did you write for him?"  (Kara)
"I have about eight so far.  I am hoping to get at least two or three on the new album."  (Chris)

"Daddy are you going to see the planes?" (Jolisa)
"I'm just going to the airport.  I won't be there long."  (Chris)
"Can I go see the planes?"  (Jolisa)
"Not this time, honey.  But I will take you soon."  (Chris)

The Langford sisters are having dinner.  Jacquelyn, the oldest sister, is just back from vacationing in Egypt.
Note:  This is Jacquelyn, not to be confused with Jackie, who owns the bridal shop.   There are also two Dominique's.  This one was named first.  The other Dominique arrived with her name, and it was so perfect, I didn't change it.  As in real towns there are often people with the same/similar names.

"Okay Dad, I will be back tomorrow to do the books.  Everything has gone pretty smooth this week."  (Daughter)
"Okay.  We need to keep the advertising going strong."  (Dad)
"I know. I've also starting planning a family gathering here to celebrate the restaurant opening."  (Daughter)

"So honey, I have gotten quite a few new sponsors for my upcoming charity event."  (Mrs. Anderson)
"That's great honey.  When is the event again?"  (Dr. Anderson, local dentist)
"I swear honey, I don't think you ever listen to me.  I have told you at least ten times when the event is."  (Mrs. Anderson)
"I'm sorry.  I just have a lot on my mind."  (Dr. Anderson)

"So what's going on with you and Kevin?"  (Jackie)
"We are doing much better.  Mom and Dad don't know this yet, but he has moved in with me and Courtney."  (Grace)
"So is there any talk about getting married, or are you guys still unsure of the relationship."  (Jackie)
"Believe it or not, he is the one talking about it.  I just need to be sure."  (Grace)

"Dillon, finish up, hon.  We need to scoot soon."  (Mrs. Anderson)
"I'm finished.  I'm stuffed."  (Dillon)

"How many?"  (Waitress)
"Just two."  (Cassandra)
"Right this way."  (Waitress)

"Well dinner is on me.  We have to get together again soon.  I missed you guys."  (Jackie)

"Thanks for dinner."  (Grace and Dominique)
"You know we need to have one of our old fashioned pajama parties.  Remember those?  They were so much fun."  (Dominique)
"I'm sure that can be arranged.  Give me time to recoup from my vacation."  (Jackie)

"Hello sir.  How many?"  (Waitress)
"We have six."  (Rod)
"Okay.  We have about a ten minute wait."  (Waitress)
"No problem."  (Rod)

This is setting us up for the next video with the new Taylor family and Nicole going home to Melanie.  Stay tuned!

Newly Designed Sofa and New Family Addition

What a productive week this has been!  I just finished a newly designed sofa.  I've been wanting to add some new designs to the line and this is the first.  It wasn't what I initially designed.  Couldn't get my initial design to act right, so I made a few alterations.  I'm happy with the end result.  This one is currently listed in my Etsy shop.

This sofa is a little more modern and a little more casual.  The seat cushions are more pillowy (not a real word) which adds to the casual look.  It comes with a set of reversible throw pillows.  One side is a beautiful paisley.

The other side is the sofa fabric.  This allows the buyer to add their own pillows and change the entire look of the sofa.

The sofa still has a tailored look to it.

With the same level of details that come with my other sofas.  I am not taking any styles away (yet), I am adding to what will be available on my Etsy site.

You may be familiar with Grace and her daughter, Courtney .  Well meet Kevin.  He is Courtney's father.  He and Grace recently reunited after living separate lives the past two years.  They never made it down the aisle, even though they were engaged right after Grace got pregnant.  Mr. and Mrs. Langford were a little overbearing and this caused some problems in the relationship.  Now a little older, they wanted to give the relationship another chance.  Originally I had Courtney as a 5 yr old.  She doesn't appear to be as old as Julian,  even though they are the same size.  So I am adjusting her age to 4 1/2.

"Courtney, no candy right now.  I have a healthy snack for you in the kitchen."  (Grace)
"Oh, one little piece won't hurt her." (Kevin)

"Don't you remember being a kid and wanting to hear "yes" when you asked for a piece of candy?" (Kevin)

Grace turns to Kevin.  She wants to say something about how her mother made sure she had healthy snacks so her teeth wouldn't rot and maybe if someone had told him "no", he wouldn't have all those cavities.  She holds her tongue, realizing how anti-productive that statement would be, especially since it would seem like she was throwing his mother under the bus.  Instead she says nothing.  Courtney still didn't get the candy, but at least she and Kevin didn't spend the rest of the day brooding over hurt feelings.

I hope they can make the relationship work.

P.S.  Limbe dolls, I tried to introduce Kevin to Paulette first.  She was not feeling him, so he had to move on and find his place elsewhere.

Rod Confronts Melanie (.Video)

I've been ticked with Melanie the past day or so.  Because of her antics, I had to do an unplanned video.  Doesn't she know I have a lot to do with this wedding coming up?  Anyway, this is the best I can do under the circumstances.  Her office is a tad bit incomplete.  I would have had her shelf a little more stocked had I known this was coming.

Another Box Bites the Dust!

The boxes are really flying off the dolls now!  I actually deboxed two dolls today.  That means it is a minimum two blog posts day.  This is the first.  If you recall my Dynasty Photo, my Lt. Uhura doll was deboxed and she made the Elite group.  She is the one in the hat.  Well, when I shot the picture, I immediately thought she would be the older sister to my Grace (S.I.S.) doll, who was part of the Single Ladies group.  Well last night, Lt. Uhura was named Jacquelyn, and instead of one younger sister, she ended up with  twin younger sisters. (This just means that I couldn't decide which Grace doll to use, so I made them twins).  This morning, before coffee, I decided I had the perfect mom for these sisters.  There was only one problem.  I had listed this potential mom for sale on my DollPage site.  No problem.  I quickly opened up my account and kindly removed her from the For Sale list.  I was on the fence about selling her anyway, because I didn't have a duplicate. But an unpaid bill, and panic, had me posting this doll for sale.  The bill is still unpaid, but my panic is over.  So I'm taking my doll back.

This is the 2006 AA Breast Cancer Doll

Meet the Langfords. They are a family of means. Mom and Dad married right out of college 30 years ago. They have three daughters, Jacquelyn (29) and the twins, Grace and Dominique (26). Grace has a 4 yr old daughter and Dominique has a 2 yr old daughter.

William and Camille are prominent members in the community.  William is a member of Alpha Phi Alpha fraternity and Camille is a soror of Alpha Kappa Alpha.  Camille is a breast cancer survivor, and just celebrated 5 years of being cancer free! (Note: These two were not named after the Cosbys. I just noticed that they were the same. LOL.  I actually did name research before coming up with these names. So I am sticking with them)

Jacquelyn, is a hard working business woman. She is single, with no kids.

Dominique, on the left, is somewhat of a Tomboy.  You will usually see her a lot more casually dressed than her sisters.  Grace, on the right, is a little more fashion savy like her mom and sister Jacquelyn.  I am not sure of their relationship/marital status.  I have to do a little more research there.
