The fun continues at the local park. Some are leaving while others are arriving.
Kevin lays back as Grace reads to him from her Kindle.
Kendra is on her way out just as Kara arrives.
"Kendra! How are you? You leaving?" (Kara)
"Yes. Cameron and I have been here for awhile, so it's nap time...for both of us."
"Ohhh, let me take a look. He's just so handsome." (Kara)
Jolisa and Courtney are still climbing and sliding.
Jada is busy driving around.
Lena and Alan have moved over to the kiddie playground where she is meeting Jason for the first time.
"So you are the infamous Lena. My wife told me all about you." (Jason)
"Infamous? She didn't say that." (Lena)
"Chris and I have been desperately trying to have another one. In the meantime, I will love on all the babies in town." (Kara)
"Well if you ever need an ear, give me a call. You know how hard a time we had getting pregnant." (Kendra)
Jason reaches over to give Layla a little push on the swing.
Lil Alan, who isn't even walking yet, is figuring out how to climb.
"Hey. That's my mommy." (Jolisa)
"Where? Where?" (Courtney)
Jolisa slides down to go greet Kara,
who has stopped to greet Jason and Lena.
Chris also spots his wife as Jolisa gets to the bottom of the slide.
"Hi, Mommy." (Jolisa)
"Well hello!" (Kara)
Kara reaches down and scoops up Jolisa.
"I'm so happy to see you." (Kara)
"Can you play with us?" (Jolisa)
"Yes. I came prepared to play, but let me go say hi to daddy first." (Kara)
"Looks like someone is on the move." (Jason)
Lynn, Jason's wife, has just arrived. She spots her husband and daughter.
"You made it." (Chris)
"I said I would." (Kara)
"What you say and what actually happens doesn't always coincide." (Chris)
Kara has been ultra busy at the salon and Chris and Jolisa have seen very little of her in the past month. She promised to come relieve Chris so he could get in some band practice time.
Lynn at first wonders who Jason is talking to, but then she recognizes Lena.
"Where do you think you are going little fellow?" (Jason)
"Hey Lena! Does this little one belong to you?" (Lynn)
"Yes. That's lil' Alan." (Lena)
"Honey, step away from the baby." (Lynn)
"But sweetie, it's a little boy. We don't have a little boy, yet. If we take this one, we can be completely done having kids." (Jason)
Kara has settled in to play with the girls. Out the corner of her eye she can see that Chris is getting prepared to leave. "Hold on girls. I'll be right back. Play without me for a minute." (Kara)
Kevin has fallen asleep. Grace looks up from her Kindle to check on Courtney.
Lynn ignored Jason and gathered Layla from the swing. After a long day of working at Ni'Chalet's, she is just thrilled to see her little girl.
Jason and Lena get back to talking about business. She's been picking his brain about how to be a successful business owner.
The girls quickly get back to playing. Jolisa is at the top of the slide waiting for Jada to move. Apparently, she's not moving quickly enough.
"Move Jada!" (Courtney)
"I'm coming down! Move Jada!" (Jolisa)
Jada gets up and throws them both a look.
"You don't have to yell." (Jada)
"Sorry I have to leave, but I've missed two practices this week." (Chris)
"No worries. Enjoy your practice. It will be nice to have some alone time with Jolisa. I'll see you when you get home." (Kara)
Chris gives Kara a quick kiss, then waves goodbye to Jolisa.
"Courtney? Are you playing nice?" (Grace)
"Yasss." (Courtney)
This is such a sweet story. I love the kids! Jada was not in a hurry for nothing. I actually laughed out loud at her giving them "the look". Lol! It is so good to see so many at once.P.s. Was Lynn feeling some type of way about because Jason was talking to Lena? She seemed a little stand-offish.
ReplyDeleteGeorgia Girl - Thanks. Jada was like, 'don't play'. Lol. I was trying not to have Lynn have an attitude about Jason and Lena. She's really not the jealous type. BUT I guess is my husband was comfy cozy holding some other woman's baby, especially if that woman had a badonka donk like Lena, I think I would be a little worried even if I wasn't the jealous type. Men are men. What can I say.
DeleteLOL at that, "Yasss," when she knows she's not. For me it was, "Yes, Ma'aaaam." The playground set really is spectacular.
ReplyDeleteMuff - Thanks. Little girls can be so mean. I have no recollection of playing with any little girls. That's very strange.
DeleteThat's so true for me too. I played mostly with boys and when it came to Barbie, I preferred playing alone. I agree with Muff...the park is awesome! :-)
DeleteLoved the "step away from the baby" sequence!
ReplyDeletelimbe dolls - Thanks. I guess Jason wants a little boy, too.
DeleteI love the kids in the playground.
ReplyDeleteMale Doll World - Thanks. Sometimes I will just go sit at the park and watch other people's kids play. Always a treat to see kids interacting with each other.
DeleteI can just hear the tone in Courtney's voice when she says "Yasss" to her mom's question! When they get my kids ages (teenagers) they just roll their eyes! I just love your park/playground. I have been collecting similar items to build one in Hanaly Corners too. I actually have some of the same play structures and you have. Looks like everyone is really enjoying themselves!
ReplyDeletePhyllis - I'm sure Courtney put a little extra sweetness in her voice. Oh goodness....teenagers. I had 5 stepkids. I know all about teenagers. Luckily for these moms those kids are never growing up. Lol. I'm sure your residents will love their new park.
DeleteThe whole set-up just feels so real (including the tension with Chris and Kara, and especially the little girls' interaction on the slide).
ReplyDeleteSmaller Places - Thanks. So you peeped that tension between Chris and Kara, too. Funny how Grace and Kevin have gotten closer and some of the other couples are having problems. I guess that's the way all relationships go. Even the plastic ones.
DeleteI thought it was funny Jason wanted a little boy. Kara and Chris need another baby. Poor Jalisa is growing up all alone. Courtney reminds me of a my husband's cousin who acted like that when she was smaller - bossy.
ReplyDeleteJanainah - Kara has been dying for another baby for quite some time now. I don't know what their problem is. Maybe they will need to see a specialist. Kids can get mighty territorial sometimes.
DeleteLoving the families enjoying a day at the park. Great story :-)
ReplyDeleteLadonna - Thanks!
DeleteI'm loving this park more and more. I might have to make that a long-term goal. The babies on the kiddie structure are too cute for words.
ReplyDeleteJewell - Thanks. A park is a great addition to every town. I look forward to seeing yours.
DeleteSuch a cute park! I keep praying I have the patient to hunt down some turf for my park here in Dotsvile. I haven't been able to find the right kind yet.
ReplyDeleteBrini - Thanks. If you like the turf in this story, I bought it at Lowe's. It's a huge roll and the best I've used thus far. It was under $20.
DeleteIs this some of the sand left over from the beach scenes a few years back. I know you said you got sand all over last time. I think it should be a little more tamed this time around. I just love seeing groups of dolls
ReplyDeleteMs. Leo - Sorry for the late response. Yes, this is sand from my previous beach. I want to do another sandy beach story with Rachel and Terrance. We will see.
Deletelove Cameron hope to see more of the Burkes' family
ReplyDeleteDar Shawn - I promise to get the Burke family back in action real soon. Hopefully before the weekend.
