Apples, apples, apples. I love apple based desserts. Apple crisp is my all time favorite. If a pan of apple crisp makes it to day two, I am doing great. Yesterday, I made a few apple desserts that will be hitting the Etsy store today.
Side note: Today Amazon is offering the Kindle book, Barbie and Ruth, for $,99. I'm not exactly sure when this offer will expire. Here is a link. Barbie and Ruth
Barbie and Ruth by Ruth Gerber is the remarkable true story of the world’s most famous toy and the woman who created her. It is a fascinating account of how one visionary woman and her product changed an industry and sparked a lasting debate about women’s roles. At once a business book, a colorful portrait of an extraordinary female entrepreneur, and a breathtaking look at a cultural phenomenon, Barbie and Ruth is a must read for anyone who ever owned a Barbie doll—a book Publishers Weekly calls, “a stirring biography…a fine study of success and resilience.”

Hello from Spain: fabulous apple pies. To your Barbies will like very much. Very tasty. Keep in touch
ReplyDeleteMarta - Thanks. My Barbies are allowing these to go to other Barbie homes. They aren't too thrilled about that.
DeleteThey look so tasty!
ReplyDeleteThanks billa's dolls!
DeleteYou're making me hungry!
ReplyDeleteI have now downloaded the book - thanks for the tip.
Smaller Places - I bought the book, too. It starts out with her going to trial over fixed accounting books. Caught my attention! I never knew that about her. I didn't really know she founded Mattel either. I just associated her with Barbie.
Deleteyum, Yum...YUMMY!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteapril_n_paris - Sounds like someone may have some real pie this weekend. Lol.
DeleteThese apple desserts look delicious.
ReplyDeleteI also have to tell you that your last post made me go right out to Walmart and find those new shoe packs. I bought three and a dress with shoes and a handbag. You can't put new items in front of a shopping crazed person. It's an addiction I need to feed. :-)
Janainah - Thanks. You know what they say, "Shopaholics love company." I don't want to be the only crazed person excited about finding new cute Barbie stuff.
DeleteMmmm... pie! ;)
ReplyDeletejSarie - I opted for the healthier apple dish.....homemade applesauce. Much easier on the hips.
DeletePie's look so good....:-P
ReplyDeleteLadonna - Thanks! I'm planning to post a story or two this weekend. Stay tuned. I know you are anxious to see more families.
DeleteThese look so good! I better hide this post from Lena. She'll be after me to do the bake sale sooner than planned.
ReplyDeleteJewell - Show Lena! Lena knows that these baked goods will last a long time. Lol.
DeleteLove the pie with the cut out! Vanessa did you ever finish your prototype for the race car bed you did for Julian? Do you plan on selling those? If so, what is your price point? Thanks.
ReplyDeleteAG Lanc - Oddly enough I was thinking about that race car the other day. I made a pattern for the car when I made the prototype. I really need to make it happen. Price would be in the $25 - $35 range.
DeleteWow, the one with the cutout looks soooooo good.
ReplyDeleteMuff - Thanks!!!
DeleteOh, it has been a long time since I have eaten apple crisp -- my mom used to make that all of the time when we were kids and though I have had it since then, my mom's is very hard to top!
ReplyDeletePhyllis - Every time I make it, I convince myself that is healthy and it's okay if I eat the whole pan. Lol. A little apple, oatmeal, brown sugar, and light butter. Of course the butterr takes to the unhealthy side. But I will eat it for breakfast, lunch, and dinner and be totally satisfied. I would have loved to have tasted your moms.
DeleteThey all look delicious!
ReplyDeleteGeorgia Girl - Thanks!
DeleteGorgeous pies!!! I love anything apple, and my stomach is literally growling.
ReplyDeleteApple crisp is a huge favorite of mine, too. With vanilla ice cream. *Drools.* If you don't have the Buttery Shelf version, I can type it out for you. I love it. :D
Sarah - Thanks! You are a woman after my own heart. Apple desserts are the best.
DeleteAside from ice cream, ice cream on Apple Pie is my favorite dessert. Fortunately a good one is not easy to get my hands on.
ReplyDeleteKenya - I am not a big fan of ice cream. I guess that's a good thing. I haven't mastered making a great apple pie in real life. I've only tried once. It was good, but not stellar like my NY style cheesecake.
