Waiting for Lena (Photostory)

Last we saw Lena, she was finishing up her interview at The Bridal Boutique.  Her husband, Alan, and son, Alan, Jr. are waiting for her to return.

Here we see Alan and son, in the family's makeshift bedroom.  With the recent move to the area, Alan and Lena are renting a small one bedroom apartment.  Right now the majority of their furniture is still in storage. They will be looking for a bigger place soon.

Alan is trying to do a few things on his Ipad, but little Alan is making that difficult.
"Come on little man, let Daddy finish this up."  (Alan)

"Nope.  I'm turning it off.  You are drooling all over my screen.  That is just not cool."  (Alan)

"Here.  How about you drool on your keys."  (Alan)
Little Alan starts whining as he tries to get to the Ipad.
Alan starts shaking the keys and that does the trick.

Little Alan is happy to take the keys.

They are almost bigger than he is.  He is content to play with them and watch t.v. with Daddy.  Of course this contentment is short lived and Alan has to find something else to entertain him.

He tries the rocking horse.  This seems to be working pretty well.  Alan gets back to watching ESPN.  He is anxious for his wife to return.  He is running out of ways to entertain his son.

Epilogue
1. Alan is the Allen Iverson, Jr. action figure from Starting Lineup.
2. The baby is a 1994 Totsy Vanna infant baby I purchased from ebay back in October.
3. Initially, I thought I would pair Lena with my Grant Hill figure, but this baby was the split image of Allen Iverson.
4. We will learn more about Alan in future posts.
5. It feels good to post again.  This is the best I could do today.  I would have loved to include Lena in this post, but she was down in the basement, and after tackling two small flights of stairs to get to my workroom, I could not tackle a third.
5. I love this little family already.  I'm looking forward to developing their story.

  1. Thanks for introducing us to Alan. I wondered who he was and why his mouth is open.

It is good to see a post from you.

    1. DBG - I still don't know why his mouth is open. We may have to get creative and fix that in the future.

  3. Hi Van, this was really lovely, and it made me laugh. It was like watching my brother with his baby son. LOL.
I'm really happy to see your new photostory.

    1. bila's dolls - If your brother is anything like this Alan, he can't wait for his wife to walk through that door. He'd probably be better engaged without the sports on, but that's not likely to happen.

  4. Hi Vanessa! Glad to see you're back.

I love how Alan Sr. is all cozy in shorts and white socks. And Alan Jr. has his jeans on. Cute! I love that key trick too. Distract 'em. Good that the keys are baby keys rather than household ones ;-)

Maybe this Alan has a breathing problem and that's why his mouth is open? I totally understand, though, if you choose to close up his mouth.

Great start to a new family story. Stay well and take care!

    1. D7ana - I was happy that these shorts were under his uniform. I really like the shoes, too. They are so flexible that they easily take them on and off. I won't be fixing his mouth any time soon.

  8. Glad you are feeling better! You know we need a video soon! LOL! Yep! Just causing trouble!

I think A.I. always ran with his mouth opened and that is why the doll's mouth is open but I'm not sure. When the shorts got longer in basketball, I stopped watching! LOL!

I like the action figure! Van, he was a great purchase! I have that baby too but haven't worked my self up to using it. The paint job is a little wonky on mine! Greak use of the Ikea house too! A small space can get too tight with a young child.

    1. Ms. Leo - I was feeling better until you mentioned a video. LOL! Baby steps.

Watching old videos with them in those short shorts is hilarious. As soon as I fix Grant Hill's hairline, he will be making an appearance.

  9. Seeing this figure with his mouth open makes me wonder if their doll version of the Jordan has his tongue hanging out.

    1. Muff - The most recent MJ figure is phenomenal. There are several new versions and one does come with two heads, one with a tongue hanging out. Here is a link

    1. Georgia Girl - Thanks. I'm learning the fine art of going up and down stairs with one leg. This figure doesn't really look like Allen to me, but I still like it. Most of the other sport figures look like the real person.

  15. Welcome back! LOL @ drool. Last year Christopher met one of his little cousins - he was 18 months at the time. Christopher was trying to entertain him with the iPad while holding a napkin under his chin to catch the drool. It was too funny.
