The 2nd wave of Barbie Luxe Style dolls are out and I want them all! These outfits and accessories are da bomb. The mix and matching abilities are endless since these are all separate pieces.
Racquelle
Love all the accessories that come with this doll. Her necklace is nice, too.
Steffi is next.
Again, I just love everything. Her sunglasses are very unique. The shoes....adorable.
Barbie in the pink and black.
Barbie in the floral jean jacket and cute jean skirt.
By the way, did anyone get Racquelle from the first wave? I never saw her in stores, or on-line. I really wanted that cute outfit she is wearing. I didn't buy the one with the pink dress, but I've seen that outfit through the blogosphere and it's much cuter than I thought.
I know these dolls are $19.99, but just think, we used to pay $12 for Fashionistas (with crappy outfits) to get articulated bodies. So add $8 for a nice outft and nice accessories. It would be nice if they packaged these separately, but I have a feeling they would be more than $8 if they did it that way. I just checked ebay to see what these dolls and their outfits are going for. Wow. My advice is buy them for the $20, if you're interested in them. Doesn't seem to be too much of an overstock on these dolls. Not sure they will get marked down too much. Of course, this is just my opinion.
I know what you mean! I did get the 1st wave Raquelle on ebay and I paid too much for her. I just saw her at Target for $19.99! I bought the Midge (Steffie mold), Raquelle and the Barbie in the Floral Jean Jacket from Mattel.com using a credit I had for a returned item, plus free shipping. I also want the rest of them (there is another Barbie and I believe a Niki). The clothes are just too cute!
ReplyDeletePhyllis - A woman after my own heart. Glad I'm not the only one. I will be hitting Target next week. I hope they don't have all of them at the store or I will be in trouble.
DeleteThis serie become my favourite one! Their clothes are simply great! I can't stomach those pink glittery dresses that Barbie is usually sporting. Just pity that heads of those dolls are too big , and quite not pretty ( at least in my opinion). Even face of my favourite Raquelle looks here like Fashionistas mold, just with black hair. But clothes and articulated bodies are definitelly worth it's price!
ReplyDeleteHuh, if Raquelle still isn't available in every US toy store, then it means that here, in Poland it MAYBE will be available in 2015 X.x
jewel snake - It is an exciting series. Yes, that Racquelle does look like a fashionista doll. But I have 4 different Racquelles in my stories. I don't need another Racquelle head. I plan to use her body for someone else. Seems like the first wave of Racquelles have hit the local stores finally. She seems to be in a more limited supply. Hope they get there soon.
DeleteBe still my wallet for sure! These are so fabulous! I hope they do some more of these. would be great if they added Nikki and Ken too...I hope they do...
ReplyDeleteI found Raquelle at one of my Walmarts and the other day I saw one at Target....I think she is short packed to one doll per case.
Miranda - Aren't they fabulous? Yes, Nikki and Ken would be nice. I guess Racquelle was a little late to the party. I hope I can find her at my Target or Walmart.
DeleteThey are cute!! I was keeping hope alive that they would Nikki on the next round. Oh, well so much for hoping. Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteGeorgia Girl - Maybe Nikki will show up in the next wave. I wonder if they are leaving her out of this line because they have the articulated SIS dolls? They did such a fabulous job with the Entrepreneur Nikki, I can't even complain that she's not in this line.
DeleteNikki has actually been pictured with two different outfits in the backs of Barbie Glam Luxe boxes and I've seen at least one of her actually purchased by a flickr friend. I don't know how easy she will be to find (if at all) which is just another ridiculous game from Mattel but I agree, the dolls are worth the purchase. An articulate body is always a need and to come with such cute and well made outfits/accessories is a win win.
ReplyDeleteTracy - Good to hear Nikki is coming out. I hope her outfit is just as fly as the rest of the outfits.
DeleteTracy - I think I just saw a picture of Nikki. Is she in the silver and pink sporty outfit? If so, I'm not feeling it. But I'm happy those that want Nikki will be able to get her.
DeleteYes, that was one of the outfits and the other was the plaid denim type skirt with the front zipper down the middle. I do like her sporty outfit, at least from the promo picture. I don't understand why Mattel is making them so hard to find...just don't get it. :-/
DeleteTracy - Technically the 2nd wave of dolls isn't due out until mid June, but they're showing up earlier in some places.
DeleteThere is a Nikki in the 2nd wave at least according to the pictures that came with the Midge and Raquelle dolls I purchased from the second wave. I am keeping a look out for her!
ReplyDeletePhyllis - Thanks for the Nikki info. I just saw a picture of her. I will try to find a picture that I can put on this post.
DeleteI love these dolls and their clothes and accessories, they´re really fashion :)
ReplyDeleteAna - It's nice to be excited about Barbie clothes again.
DeleteI found Raquel from the first wave at Walmart. I have her and the Barbie with the black jacket. I haven't seen any of the second wave yet. I thought they weren't' going to be in stores until July. I'll keep looking for them. :-)
ReplyDeleteCindi - The second wave isn't technically due out until June, but I think in some areas they have shown up a little early.
DeleteHello from Spain: I also love this new collection. In my country, these dolls are not for sale. I love all the dolls. The outfits are beautiful. Keep in touch
ReplyDeleteMarta - I'm sure we will be seeing some of these outfits on your blog in the future. I can't wait.
DeleteFabulous little clothing pieces. Won't see these dollies in my area for a while so am very grateful for your post.
ReplyDeleteRoville - Glad I could tempt you with these little fashion divas.
DeleteYou are lucky to found the new Raquelle. Where I stay, it's not in stores !
ReplyDeleteShasarignis - I haven't been to any of my stores, yet to see if they are here. That will be next week's treasure hunt.
DeleteNice. Be still indeed ;-)
ReplyDeleteI see that wallet jumping.
D7ana - My wallet already went to the store to wait for me. lol!
DeleteI actually found the first wave Raquelle twice now. I bought one, and the other I saw just last weekend at a Walmart. I think she must be short-packed, because those two are all I've ever seen in person.
ReplyDeletePresto - I sure hope I see 1st wave Raquelle next week when I go shopping. I think you are right about the short packed.
DeleteWell, my wallet is quite safe at the moment, none of the first wave dolls have arrived here in Australia yet. The only Life in the Summer House dolls I've seen have been Barbie and Ken (and like lots of others, I want Midge). So we'll see if these make it to our shores.
ReplyDeleteCarrickters - Wow, you guys haven't even gotten all the Life in the Dreamhouse dolls. Hopefully they will get the Barbie Luxe sooner than you anticipate.
DeleteHola, espero lleguen a mi ciudad, estan hermosas.
ReplyDeletelindaivette - Espero que lleguen a su ciudad pronto, también.
DeleteLove Midge, I saw her on the Target webpage. My wallet is safe, too, because I recently got Life in the Dreamhouse Midge!
ReplyDeleteWhere is the list of names that the new chracters are?
ReplyDeletedonielle - The current characters are listed under the Character tab. The list with names of future characters is on my personal computer.
DeleteI never bought any of the 1st wave girls but I did see Raquelle at one of my Walmarts last month. I just never got an affinity to these girls. Only if they make it to clearance will I be getting any. I just got a Dreamhouse Midge for $8, so I'll keep hope alive that the Style ladies might go down.
ReplyDeleteMuff - I feel about these girls (mainly their clothes) the same way I felt when they did the Basics line. I was a stone cold fool with that line. Thank goodness there are only 4-5 of these dolls and not 12+ like the Basics line. They seem to have produced a lot of the Dreamhouse dolls. I'm not surprised you found them on clearance. The 1st wave seemed to be in short supply from the beginning. Maybe they were testing the waters to see how they would sell.
DeleteI have yet to purchase one of these dolls. I will eventually since your review. I don't understand why Mattel will not make a dark skinned AA doll with these bodies. I think they would sell really well.
ReplyDeletemrscarissa - They do have the Artsy doll as part of the second wave. I don't have her pictured here, because I can't find a picture of her that I can post here. I think since Mattel has the So In Style line, with two darker skinned articulated dolls that sell for $12 - $14, they are probably not inclined to put a dark skinned doll in this line for $20. I think with an outfit as nice as the ones pictured here, that she would sell well, too. They did add a darker skinned Entrepreneur Barbie to the playline for $13, and she has a great dress with great accessories. Unfortunately she's not articulated. The other problem is they didn't make the doll able to sit down at all. Some of their decisions are so off track.
