Busy Day at the Post Office (Photostory)

It's Saturday morning and the post office is packed.

Brad is there filling out his new address card.  Apparently Sunni found him a new place to live.

"Ma'am that will be $12.95."  (Postal worker)
"Ok.  I have my card right here."  (Dominique)
"Is it still raining out there?"  (Postal worker)
"It's pouring.  It's the kind of day where you just want to curl up with a good book."  (Dominique)

"Hi.  What's your name?"  (Ciana)

(silence)

"My name is Ciana." (Ciana)

"Ciana are you being nice?"  (Leslie)
"Uh huh."  (Ciana)
"You mean, yes."  (Leslie)

"NEXT." (Postal worker)

"Okay Kimaya.  Let's go get some lunch."  (Dominique with her granddaughter)

"Can I get a money order for $135?"  (Kurt)
Kurt has the girls today.  This probably explains why the kids are out in the rain without jackets.  His wife, Samantha is home trying to get rid of a migraine.  Let's hope the kids don't catch colds.

Kurt's oldest daughter, Bethany, hasn't spoken a word to Ciana, yet.  She seems to be a little shy.

"Wait a minute, Jessica.  Mommy's almost finished with this paperwork."  (Stephanie)

"If we don't get this gift in the mail today, it will not get to your granny in time for her birthday."  (Stephanie)

Halle is the latest customer to walk through the door.

"Well hello there, handsome."  (Halle)
Joseph is loving the attention and starts smiling and giggling.

"Are you flirting, Joseph?"  (Leslie)
"I sure hope so.  It's been a long time since someone so cute has flirted with me."  (Halle)

"Please look everything over sir to make sure it's correct."  (Postal worker)

The line has grown longer and doesn't seem to be moving too quickly.

"Is is always this crowded?"  (Brad)
"I try not to come on Saturdays or after 3pm on weekdays.  There is always a line."  (Halle)

"NEXT."  (Postal worker)

"I need to get 2 books stamps."  (Leslie)
"Do you have a preference?"  (Postal worker)

"Do you have any other good tips for a newcomer to Morristown."  (Brad)
"Oh, you just moved here?"  (Halle)
"Yes.  Just a few weeks ago."  (Brad)

"Well, welcome to Morristown.  I think you will like it here."  (Halle)
"Does that welcome come with a tour of the town?"  (Brad)

"Well it would, but I'm not sure my boyfriend would approve."  (Halle)

"Jessica, don't pull on the bow.  We want it to look pretty when Granny gets it."  (Stephanie)

"By the way, I'm Brad."
"Pleased to meet you Brad.  I'm Halle."
"The pleasure is all mine."  (Brad)

"NEXT." (Postal worker)

"Mommy, I got to go potty."  (Ciana)
"Oh Ciana.  There's no bathroom here.  Come on.  Let's hurry.  We are close to the restaurant."  (Leslie)

"NEXT."  (Postal worker, again)
"I think that yell is for me and I can't go until you release my hand."  (Halle)
"I'm sorry."  (Brad)

"Mommy, I can't wait!"  (Ciana)
"You are wasting time.  Turn around and start walking."  (Leslie)
Leslie always keeps a change of clothes in the car, so she's not terribly worried, but she would really like to  make it to the bathroom.

"I don't know why people think it's okay to hold up the line with idle chatter.  I sure wish they would hurry.  You are getting heavy little girl."  (Stephanie)

I'm sure the post office will be busy all day.

In case you missed it, I posted Part 2 of the Disney articulated body review earlier this morning.

  4. I wish there was a post office as that of Morris Town where I live here too! The Postal workers here are always angry :(
Brad does not waste time! Just arrived in town and already has spotted a prize! I hope Halle remains stopped in her "I'm not sure my boyfriend would approve."
Oh, and not all the men are clumsy with kids like Kurt. I know fathers that are really careful and protective with their children

    1. Setgio - Oh no! Not the angry postal workers. You have to be careful about them. Kurt is an anomaly in Morristown when it comes to the kids. He is good with them, but he overlooks some of the basics. I personally know dads that are really good with their kids. There are quite a few in Morristown, too.

  5. Thanks for transporting my post office to Morristown; guess that means we get a replacement one - lol. No? Sigh. I didn't think so. Really.

Love Dominique's raincoat. The kiddies look cute in their raingear, too.

Oh, Brad! Fast mover, isn't he? LOL Halle, Diego = good guy = keeper. Don't know about Mr. Flirty Brad now do we?

    1. D7ana - I just recently acquired the post office pieces for a great price.

I have so many coats, and I need to start showing them.

Is Brad flirty or just decisive in what he thinks he wants? Should he take a chance on never seeing this vision of loveliness again, or throw down the gauntlet and go for what he knows? I don't know.

  6. Is Halle going to be pursued by the new guy? Will he win her over? Does she still have a chance with Darius? Or does Diego have her heart? I'll have to stay tuned. ;)

  9. I love Jordan's coat. Brad is on the prowl lol! I'm so proud to see Halle being faithful to her man. That postal worker is funny... NEXT. Lol! Maybe she is upset that she had to work on the weekend.

    1. Georgia Girl - Jordan isn't even at the post office. Do you Dominique or Halle? Postal workers are always yelling at the next person in line. She's at least yelling with a half smile. LOL!

  10. Bonjour Vanessa, je ne savais pas qu'il existait le bureau de poste pour Barbie. C'est vraiment génial.

For my next video, I need to a big room to make a reception. I think it will take me a lot of jobs. I have too much ideas but I don't know where to start.

    Encore merci Vanessa !

I know all about having too many ideas. I am finally getting around to some of the ideas I had last year. Just get started. It will work itself out.

  12. Obviously Saturdays in the post office are the same the world over and in the doll world too. Loved the picture of Bethany peering through her dad's legs at Ciana.

    1. Carrickters - That sure is a busy place. I'm thinking they may need more than one postal worker in the future. I overheard someone talking about budget cuts, so I don't know that it will happen.

    1. Kenya - You are really trying to get Halle in trouble, aren't you? It's a small town, so there is a good chance their paths will cross again. I made Dominique's coat, and when I saw the hat, I was like, 'perfect'. She's one of my top divas in town.

  15. It's usually hit or miss when I go to the post office in my free time trying to beat the rush. Often I miss. It looks like these patrons were not able to get in and out quickly. I enjoyed their conversations and the little ones interactions while they waited.

Ms. Halle still never disappoints the opposite sex. The girl can't help it. She's gorgeous. Will she ever be able to keep a man, though?

    1. DBG - Because I do all of my label printing at home, I am usually able to avoid all the lines. I love walking in, looking at the people, and dropping my packages in the box.

Halle still has a man, and from what I gather, she wants to keep him. Maybe she and Brad can just be friends. LOL!

    2. I do all my label printing at home, too. After my PO removed the APC receptacle for parcels, I opt to hand mine to a clerk in lieu of leaving them on an unattended counter. It takes a little more time during busy moments, but I don't mind the wait.

    3. DBG - Why would they remove the receptacle? Never mind. Why ask why? When I do international packages, I have to hand them to the clerk, but they don't like when you stand in line. They prefer that you walk up to the nearest clerk, hand them the package, foregoing the line. I think seeing a longer line than necessary is daunting.

  17. I agree with Stephanie. I cant stand it when people act like they are in their own little world when they are standing in line at the post office. Ugh, especially when they are on the phone! OMG, so annoying. Just move because nobody wants to hear your loud conversation.

    1. Muff - Seems like I touched a nerve. LOL! I think we have all had crazy post office experiences. The one that kills me is when they get to the counter and answer their cell phone. Never mind all the signs that say "Do Not Use Your Cell Phone beyond this point." Like it would kill them to let the phone go to voicemail for a few minutes.
