Disney Articulated Body Review Part 2

Continuing with the Disney articulated body review.  If you missed part 1, you can see it here.  You can also see a very nice review of the Disney body on Ms. Leo's blog entitled, Another Road Trip  In this post I will briefly compare the Disney body to the LIV body and the Fashionista body.  For more detailed body comparisons, see Ms. Leo's post.

Here you see all three bodies.  LIV on the left, Disney in the middle, and Fashionista on the right.  As you can see, my Barbie Basics 3.0 #8 doll got the first Princess Tiana body.  It is a perfect match!  In this picture she is wearing Barbie heels, which makes her taller than the LIV doll and about the same height as the Fashionista doll.  Of course this will vary according to the size of heel on the shoe.

Here is a comparison shot of the hands.  The LIV hands never looked natural.  The Disney hands are nicely sculpted.

When you remove the heels from the Disney body, and she is flat footed, she is the same size as the LIV doll.  I really like that the Disney body can experience height changes, like in real life.  One thing to note, that I forgot to take a picture of, is the LIV body rotates at the waist.  The Disney body does not. 

Here are all three girls again, with the Disney body now flat footed.  You can now see how her height compares to the Fashionista doll.

With heels, again.

I was asked to show if she can ride a horse.  The answer is yes.

The one drawback to the Disney body is her sitting ability.  Her legs can not close all the way.  I thought is would be worse than this.  She is fine sitting as long as she doesn't try to put on a mini skirt.

Compared to the LIV doll.  I can live with this seating issue.  The benefits of this body far outweigh the minor seating problem.  

So in conclusion.....  I LOVE this body.  The skin tone, the quality, the articulation, the possible height changes, the ability to wear all those Barbie shoes I already have, make this body an 8 out of 10 for me.  I will definitely buy more as the need arises.

LIV Bodies Meet Stardoll Shoes

I knew the Stardoll shoes fit the Monster High dolls, but I didn't know they could work for the LIV bodies.  This is perfect!!  I hated buying the accessory packs and not being able to use the shoes.  Seemed like such a waste of money.

They are not a perfect fit, but the bendy LIV ankles is what makes this possible.  

I got my one Stardoll today in the mail.  She was my Barbie Collector.com coupon doll.  Of all the Stardolls, I figured if there was one that would make my collection, it would be this one.  I loved her dress and the doll.  I immediately put her on a LIV body.  I have a TON of LIV bodies.  I don't like them for my older looking dolls, but I really like them for this doll.  Most of the Stardolls are pretty young looking to me.  They are in their very early 20s for me and I like the LIV bodies for the young adults and some of my Asian dolls, regardless of age.  I have her pictured next to my Marisa doll, which is also on a LIV body.  As a matter of fact they are both on Danielle bodies.

The Stardoll shoes are perfect for the early 20 something year old.  So this is a match made in heaven all around.  Sorry for the bad pictures.  It's late and I'm tired.

So In Style Marisa on a LIV Body

Most of my dolls know at any moment they can lose their body.  Poor Marisa.  She lost here Fashionista body last week.  It wasn't a perfect match, so it went to another doll.  I had to scour around to find her another body so she can work in the boutique on opening day.  I decided on a LIV Daniela body.  The color match was better than the Fashionista body.

She is now the same size as the original Raven doll.

I like her a lot better on this body in her new outfit.  I had no idea LIV Daniela had those cute boots on under those purple jeans.

"Singing in the Rain, I'm Singing in the Rain"

Are there any Glee fans out there? I loved that episode where Gwyneth Paltrow, Mr. Schuster, and the kids sang "Singing in the Rain".  But I digress....

This post is really about the new LIV outfit I found yesterday. Had to have it.  There's a full outfit with a shirt, a skirt, a raincoat, rainboots, and an umbrella!  And it was only $7.88.  Not bad at all.

Looks like she is about to do the robot dance. The raincoat has a hood, too.

I think I will put a ribbon around the umbrella to close it up when not in use.

Somehow the umbrella stays open. It's all in the way they sewed it. Pretty ingenious.

Just note, it is not a high quality sewn outfit, but it's awfully adorable.

From LIV to Barbie (Caution: doll nudity)

I opened up some of my goodies from Saturday. I decided to transform my LIV doll to Barbie.  I knew the LIV body was nice, but I had NO IDEA!  Now all of my dolls want LIV bodies.

Here is LIV. I dewigged her in prep for her rebodying.

I could never do a full back bend. This is as far as I could go. She can actually go all the way.

The knee, elbow, wrist, and ankle joints are fantastic!

She swivels at the waist.

Her ankles can rotate around. She can do all the ballet poses! Since she bends at the ankles, she can also wear heels. Her feet are a little wide, so she can't wear those cute Barbie heels. I plan to make her some cute heels.

Here she is with her Barbie Head!

I am really happy with her ability to get down to kid level. Boy do I have plans for her! Can you imagine her curled up in a chair reading to her child. Here she is pictured with my new Chelsea doll. Might be her daughter. Might not. Who knows?

She can actually kneel down and pray.

Flat footed she is a tad shorter than the original Barbie. I like this because isn't it a little strange that everyone is the same height in Barbie world. With her heels, she will be a little taller.

I can't even expres how in LOVE I am with the LIV body. Mattel missed out on this body design. And for $12.88, how can you go wrong.
