Just a reminder, Kendra and Darius are brother and sister. They are niece and nephew to Camille Langford, on their mother's side. Well Dasia is their aunt on their father's side.
Kendra is visiting Dasia. She wants Dasia to get to know Cameron better. The more future babysitters she can secure the better. Dasia made a few more changes to her home. She still has a ways to go. (I removed the stairs to give them more room.) The wicker shelf on the right hand side is a recent thrift store find of my mom's.
Cameron has just been fed, and Kendra is trying to get him to burp.
"Have you started feeding him a little cereal, yet?" (Dasia)
"I give him a little at night to help him sleep longer." (Kendra)
"So how are you adjusting to motherhood?" (Dasia)
"I'm doing well. You know how long Nate and I were trying to get pregnant, so I couldn't be happier." (Kendra)
"I only ask because I had a really bad case of postpartum depression when I had Carmelia. There were days when I didn't even want to see her, let alone take care of her." (Dasia)
"I can't even imagine. They talked about that in my birthing classes, to prepare us, just in case. Did you take drugs, or how did you deal with it?" (Kendra)
"I went a few times a week to talk to someone and managed to slowly come out of it. Thank goodness I didn't experience anything like that with Kaleb." (Dasia)
"Here, would you like to hold Cameron to remind you of those great baby moments with Kaleb?" (Kendra)
"I'm not too big on holding little babies. I prefer them when they are up and walking." (Dasia)
"Oh come on, auntie. Cameron wants his great aunt to show him some love." (Kendra)
"Hand him over." (Dasia)
"So what is my nephew up to these days? Is he still dating Nikki? Isn't it about time they tie the knot? What in the world are they waiting for?" (Dasia)
"My name is Bennett and I'm not in it. Last I saw him, he was doing great. He drops by to play with Cameron sometimes. I really can't tell you what's going on with him and Nikki. She comes to visit me, but they don't usually visit me together." (Kendra)
"I think I will invite them to dinner and see if I can't get a vibe as to what is going on." (Dasia)
Just then Dasia hears the door open downstairs.
"Honey, is that you?" (Dasia)
"It's me, Mom!" (Kaleb)
"Come on up and say hi to cousin Kendra." (Dasia)
"What's up, cuz?" (Kaleb)
"Not much." (Kendra)
"Look at you, looking all grown up." (Kendra)
"There you go clowning again. Just because you have a baby now, don't make you grown." (Kaleb)
"It kind of does." (Kendra)
They both start laughing.
"You just make sure you don't bring any babies here." (Dasia)
"Oh Mom. Stop." (Kaleb)
"What are you doing here? I thought you had a full day of classes." (Dasia)
"My psych class was canceled, so I thought I would stop by and get something to eat." (Kaleb)
"Your dad and I pay an awful lot of money to that school for your meals. You need to start eating them." (Dasia)
"That food can't touch your food." (Kaleb)
"Flattery is not going to get you very far." (Dasia)
"Maybe not, but it will at least get me a good lunch." (Kaleb)
"Nice to see you again, cuz. Tell your brother I'm trying to catch up with him." (Kaleb)
"I will, the next time I see him. Take care." (Kendra)
And with that, Kaleb heads back downstairs to raid the refrigerator.
Terrance is patiently waiting for Racquel. The Howards are getting a later start to the beach than they planned. The car is packed. Baby Shay is in her seat and Terrance's patience is growing thin.
Finally Racquel emerges from the condo.
"Well it's about time!" (Terrance)
"Hush." (Racquel)
"How much stuff do you need?" (Terrance)
"Sometimes I think you forget that we have a baby, and that babies require lots of stuff." (Racquel)
"Come on. We're running late and I don't want to get caught in the early afternoon traffic." (Terrance)
"Hey pumpkin. Do you hear your daddy complaining? Good thing we're going on vacation. Maybe he can learn to relax." (Racquel)
"There is nothing relaxing about sitting in rush hour traffic." (Terrance)
And with that, they are off to the beach.
Dasia showing off her first pair of colored jeans. She loved the lime outfit so much, she wanted a pair of jeans and a full sized (not cropped) turtleneck to go with them. I still have to make the turtleneck. Colored jeans will be hitting the store, soon. There will be lime green, red, light blue, and tan, to start.
That lime green color. I think I am just drawn to it. Nice to see Kendra with the baby, and scouting for an extra sitter no less.
ReplyDeleteTerrance is so serious. He needs to lighten up. I like how Racquel keeps him grounded.
Janainah - The lime green is eye catching for sure. Terrance isn't always so serious. If you've ever had to sit in Northern Virginia/Washington DC rush hour traffic, you would know why he is not happy right now.
DeleteLime green is my favorite color! I just bought some cute stuff from Belk today for 70% off. I would have liked to have found some pants like that!
ReplyDeleteMuff- I would have never guessed that lime green was your fave color. Now you are making me want to go shopping for sales and cute stuff.
DeleteI just love your stories.
ReplyDeleteKMQ - Thanks. Ordinary dolls doing ordinary things, but loving their little doll life.
DeleteFirst of all, the jeans look great on Dasia! I love the color.
ReplyDeleteIt is great to see Kendra again and baby Carmeron. :-)
Georgia Girl - Glad you like the jeans. I've had several requests to bring back the Burkes. I had to figure out how to get them into Dasia's world since she has high-jacked me for the moment.
DeleteHope Terrance and Raquel will be able to relax on their vacation. Dasia looks great. :-)
ReplyDeleteCindi - Thanks. I''m sure Terrance and Racquel will have a great time as soon as they get out of traffic and onto the beach.
DeleteI love how this lime color goes with purple:) Dasi has beautiful house:)
ReplyDeleteNatalia - Thanks. So funny she is wearing the colors that are in her house.
DeleteI like how Dasia has been incorporated into your doll families.
ReplyDeleteLove those jeans... brings me back to my senior year in high school when my staple attire was colored bell-bottom, hip-hugger jeans in every color of the rainbow (green, yellow, red, royal and other colors) and coordinating tops (full, not crop). :-)
dbg
Purple... among other colors, I had a purple pair of jeans too.
Deletedbg
DBG - I had to incorporate her into the stories, else we wouldn't have any new stories. She has temporarily high-jacked my life with all her and her BBW friends requesting new clothes. But I'm loving it. I bought some royal blue pants earlier this year and some strange green ones last year. My first jaunt into the colored jean world. I can't wait to make the red ones for Dasia. I think they will look really nice.
DeleteWell,I'll be leaving here satisfied.I just got a 2 for 1. Love the extra Terrance/Raquel story.Love the camaraderie between Dasia and Family.
ReplyDeleteVal - Well great. I may be doing more of that, just so I can see my own doll families. I miss them.
DeleteHey hey, Vanessa... There's been a Sisterhood of the World Bloggers Award nomination going on and I was nominated.. And I'd like to nominate you, too! Please check the link below when you have the time... Thanks!!!
ReplyDeletehttp://ateliernishasha.blogspot.com/2015/08/nomination-and-nominees-for-sisterhood.html
Shasha - Thanks for the nomination. I've been reading others. I have a previous nomination. I will try to do both sometime this week.
DeleteDasia looking sharp, Kendra looking for another babysitter, and Kaleb seeking mom's cooking - all fun highlights of Morrisville ;-)
ReplyDeleteD7ana - Yes, the Morristown crew is getting on with their lives.
DeleteBonjour Vanessa !
ReplyDeleteI like this room with all the decorations ! Nice colors !
Shasarignis - Thanks. Dasia and I have lots of plans for the house, but she and I are both pretty busy now.
DeleteDasia's home is looking good, as is Dasia with all her new wardrobe items. She is one lucky doll! It was nice catching up with the Burke's and Terrance and Racquel. Loved the interaction with the cousins, too! Like Dasia, I am very curious about what is going on with Darius and Nikki!
ReplyDeletePhyllis - Thanks. She still has to put up curtains, find a rug, and some other odds and ends.
DeleteI am amazed at all the detail in your photostory dioramas. One thing is for sure, no matter what goes on in Dasia's household, she'll always come out of it looking stylish as ever!
ReplyDeleteapril - Thanks. These houses make the dios a lot easier. I can put a few things in the house and it looks full. We still have a lot we want to do to the house, but it's nice to be able to do stories in it, in the meantime.
DeleteBoy Dasia's house is quite busy. She is so stylish with her wonderful family.
ReplyDeleteBrini - Dasia loves to entertain, so I suspect she will be doing it often.
DeleteI think Kaleb and Lena's sister Dahlia would make a cute couple! In my head it seems like Dasia would love her, maybe. I'm always so happy to see your posts Vanessa!
ReplyDeleteDoll Crazy - I will have to check out the Kaleb and Dahlia match. It might work. I'm happy to be doing more posts. I will try to do minimum 1 - 2 stories a week.
DeleteDasia looks like a good babysitter for that infant holding stage. One of those you have to say, "Please don't hold her the whole time."
ReplyDeleteKenya - Kendra is setting her up big time. Good babysitters are critical.
ReplyDeleteNice story.I like Dasia's house and furniture.I also like Kendra she is really pretty. And all baby stuff is so cute.
ReplyDeleteMy Doll Stuff - Thanks!
