Project Runway Canada: Bratz Edition

This is a quick post for the Project Runway fans.  I discovered Project Runway Canada on YouTube.  They have full episodes.  I started watching their first season, and the third challenge was all about the Bratz doll.  The designers had to consult with little girls about a Bratz inspired outfit.  The outfit was to be made for the models, and surprise, surprise, they also had to make the same outfit to fit the doll.  From what I've seen so far, the Canada version of Project Runway is more difficult than the American version.

I'm still hoping to post a doll story later today (or tomorrow).

  4. It was so weird to see a Project Runway without Tim or Heidi. This was a fun episode! A lot of the fashions I didn't think worked well for dolls at all.

Thanks for turning me on to this.

    1. Muff - You're welcome. Took me a minute to get used to Iman and Brian, but they grew on me pretty quickly. I fell asleep last night watching the finale of season 1. It's interesting seeing the little differences, but in general I think their challenges are a little harder.

  7. I only watched some of the judging at the end. I'm glad to see the Victorian Bratz idea did well. :) I see your Dasia line is growing by leaps and bounds!

  8. I'm not a fan of Project Runway at all but I really enjoyed the Canada version. Thanks for sharing. But I think on another blog someone posted the AG challenge that was on the original Project Runway.

    1. Kat - Glad you enjoyed it. I saw the AG challenge on the original one when it first aired. The difference was the designers didn't have to make an outfit for the doll, only for the little girls. I like that the Canadian contestants had to make doll outfits, too.

  9. I never heard of this show before but that video was awesome! I wish bratz would sell the outfits the designers made in stores except for the egypt one because that was too high on the slit in the front.

This makes me want to design some outfits for my dolls. :)

    1. Leandra - You should design some outfits for your dolls. I'm sure they would be very happy about that. Glad you enjoyed the show. I liked the concept of the Egyptian one. All they would have to do is get rid of the slit completely. The neckline was really nice.

    2. I agree, i really did like the Egypt dress especially the details in the collar though i still like the Shanghai outfit the most. Also do you know any good sites for doll patterns and fashion books?

  10. Yay, I got to watch an episode of Project Runway. I didn't know there was a Canadian version. There was an Australian version for a while but it was only available on Foxtel (pay TV) so it was never as well-known or popular as the American version.

    1. Carrickters - Yay! The Australian version is on youtube too. I've watched a few episodes. I don't like it as much as I like the other two version. I watched an episode of PR Phillipines, too. The video quality was poor, and half the time they were talking in their native tongue. I did like their designs. I may just watch their runway shows.
