Glimpse Inside the Reed Home (Photostory)

Great news!  The Reed loan was approved and they have started moving in.  It is Dasia's hope they will get new furniture soon.  In the meantime, they are using what they have.   We'll take a quick look inside.

In the kitchen, I was excited the Sindy furniture fit.  I wanted Dasia to have this furniture.  The one piece that didn't fit was the oven.  It was either the oven or the refrigerator.  That refrigerator is huge!  It is the biggest one I have.  Once I settle on a layout, I will cover up the background that doesn't work.  I love how the background works above the stove.

This table and chair set came with the house.  I like it for Dasia and her husband.  There would be more room if I could turn the table around long ways. but Dasia's legs won't fit under the table if I do that.  I will eventually cut the legs off and either move them to the long side or change them out completely.

Benji will have real dog bowls in this little area.

A few changes to the bathroom with lots more to come.  There is now a shower.

Upstairs Harold and Kaleb are talking.  I borrowed this furniture from other families.  I really like the purple and green in this room.  I will add a rug, some curtains, real lamps, etc.

I stuck a bookcase in the corner to see if it would fit.  I think a white bookcase would work there.

Dasia's desk where she pays bills.  I will add real shelves and real stuff above the desk.  Real lamps and lots of plants will warm the place up.

    1. Ladonna - I will probably add a wall between the kitchen and the bathroom. That little kitchen area will be enough for Dasia and Harold. When they need dining room space, I will probably remove the stairs and put a table in that area and a wall to make it seem like they have a dining room in another part of the house.

    2. Ladonna - And yes, you are welcome to come have dinner when that happens.

  5. Wow, that Sindy kitchen set is almost like it was made for that kitchen! I am loving the living area too and that bath is adorable. After seeing your KidKraft houses and also some on Flickr, I am thinking about getting a couple for my families too. A nice way to start getting my town together more quickly! Can't wait to see it all finished with the changes you describe.

    1. Phyllis - I was so surprised that Sindy kitchen fit as well as it did. Oooh, I need to go check out the KidKraft homes on flickr to get some ideas. I don't think you will be disappointed with these houses. It's nice having all the rooms in one little compact space.

  6. The Sindy kitchen items are big, but closer to real than Barbie furniture. Too bad it's so expensive on eBay. I have the sink, stove and oven. I would love to get my hands on a cabinet and refrigerator, but would definitely need to plan out a huge kitchen to use them.

I like your layout. The bookcase in the corner under the stairs is great use of space. I can't wait to see the house when it's done.

    1. Janainah - Keep checking on ebay for the Sindy kitchen. That's where I got mine from last year, and it was a great price. I may eventually swap out the fridge for the stove. I imagine Dasia will be doing a lot of cooking.

    1. DBG - Thanks. Yes, there is still lots to do. Dasia's and Roberta's homes are in my sewing room. They are more likely to get worked on here, than in the basement. The sewing room is clean and organized. The basement is not....yet.

  10. Congrats on getting the Sindy kitchen furniture. It looks right in Dasia's place; if she's a big cooker, she'll need the space.

    The tub looks roomy.

Good luck getting the basement as you want it.

Here's to Reed family drama ;-)

    1. Val - Vanessa has a dog, Teddy. That's probably the only other one. which is odd since I am such an animal lover. Danielle's boys have a couple of fish for pets. I guess we have to count those, too.

  13. That is a cute house and I can see the potential too. Ms. Dasia got it going on in Morristown and I am not mad at her.

    1. Britni - Dasia scooped into town and got the new house and the new wardrobe. Tsk. Tsk. You may not be mad at her, but there are a few others here that aren't so thrilled with her.
