Dasia Shops at Ni'Chalets

I know what you are thinking.  Dasia shopping?  Doesn't she have enough clothes?  She loves clothes as much as most women.  After church she convinced her husband to stop by Ni'Chalet's for a few minutes.

Mr. Reed has assumed the male position.  Dasia is wearing her new houndstooth suit.

"Honey, would you mind holding my purse while I shop?"  (Dasia)
"Hand it here.  Maybe you should consider carrying a smaller purse that's more manageable."  (Mr. Reed)

"So what can I help you find today?"  (Racquel)

"I just need a casual outfit.  Maybe some capris and a top."  (Dasia)
"I have just the thing.  Come with me."  (Racquel)
Racquel and Dasia makes their way to the new Plus Size section, where Racquel picks out a cute black and white outfit.

Dasia appears out of the dressing room, pleased as punch.  This is just what she was looking for.
"So what do you think?"  (Racquel)
"I love it.  Let me get a closer look in the front mirror."  (Dasia)

So here it is.  A lightweight black knit crossover blouse and lightweight white capris.  Dasia immediately starts envisioning these capri pants with other tops she has at home.

The red and white silk blouse.

The blue and red floral blouse.  She then started envisioning pieces the black top would complement.

The leopard skirt.

Her charcoal skirt.  Her thoughts are interrupted as Racquel approaches her.

"So do we have a winner?"  (Racquel)
"Yes.  I will take both pieces."  (Dasia)
"Will that be all today?"  (Racquel)
"Yes.  I'll come back and browse a little more next week when I am alone.  I saw a few more pieces that caught my eye."  (Dasia)

Dasia pays for her items and she and husband head home.  Dasia had one more stop to make.  She needed to stop by the tailors and finally get the buttons sewn on her suit.

Here is the final result.  She was quite pleased.

She tried it on with her new outfit just to see what it looked like.

FYI:  The blouse, capri pants, and the suit will be listed in my Etsy store later this evening.

    1. jSarie - Thanks! I bought that fabric years ago when I thought I wanted to make myself some clothes. That feeling passed real quick.

  3. It's great to see how Dasia's wardrobe has grown! All of her outfits look awesome, but I think the suit and the black top are my favorites.

  4. Nice suit, Vanessa! Mr. Reed is a sweetie, but over here the male position is at home and out of my way- lol. My husband and son are not allowed to accompany me when I'm shopping for clothes. They just ruin the fun of it. FYI: I've been showing Dena your Etsy listings and she's started a wish list.

    1. Jewell - Thanks! Dasia knew if she went home without stopping, she would not have made it back out to the store, and she really wanted an outfit for Monday. Let Dena know some items are limited in quantity, so if they disappear before she gets them, there will be lots of new items coming out regularly.

  5. Oh Vanessa, I LOVE this post. First of all Dasia looks great in everything she tried on. Men just don't understand that there is no such thing as "enough clothes." But most importantly, I love your fashions for non-skinny dolls. They are both fashionable and flattering to Dasia's body type. Bravo!

    1. april - Thanks so much! Yes, Dasia probably would have bought a lot more if her husband wasn't there. She had to keep it conservative. After playing with Dasia for so long, I realized just how skinny my Racquel doll is.

I love the new tailleur, it looks wonderful, and the scale of the fabric is perfect! Your Dasia's fashions are getting better by the hour

    1. billa - Thanks. I wanted to do more of a story with her today, but I didn't feel like it. All I want to do is sew these days. I guess that's not a bad thing. There's so much I want to learn

  8. When my Dasia saw this, she said: "Ohh, those are really nice! How about getting me some capris and that houndstooth suit is to die for!" She doesn't know yet about the stuff I already bought from you and is on the way! She is quickly becoming the best dressed doll in Hanaly Corners, thanks to you!

    1. Phyllis - Yes your Dasia's new stuff is on the way. Even with the added outfit, I got it out early. Tell her the new stuff will be listed first thing in the morning. If she misses out on the first quantities, there will be relistings. I have plenty of material for these items. I thank both of you for very much for your continued support.

    1. AG Lanc. - She chose the red coach because her suit has a red lining. She is becoming quite the fashionista around here.

  11. I love the suit. The buttons are the perfect accent.

Dasia's casual outfit is nice. It looks like something she can relax in after church or wear to her next shopping outing to NiChalets.

    1. DBG - Thanks. I was online getting ready to order buttons, but decided I would use the ones I had just recently purchased. I was pleased with the result. I would say she could hang out with Roberta in her casual outfit, but Roberta won't go out with her until I make her some new clothes. I guess I can't blame her.

  14. I loved this post!! The clothes are beautiful! I need that top. I will be watching for them to go on etsy. My Dasia's are nude and really mad that I am allowing them to stay this way. I plan to recreate one like the original, but the other one is fair game. Thanks for creating fashions for this plus size Diva!

Love the shop. It looks great!
