I got a little more done on the upright piano. I still have to add the black keys, the keyboard cover, the foot pedals, and make a new bench. I picked up the stain, Cabernet, that Cindi of Moreville, recommended. I love it. Thanks Cindi!
So here I am sitting with my daughter, Alicia. I thought this would be a good time to introduce her to the piano. Then I thought, I would be the perfect piano teacher for Morristown. This is also a great way for me to get some more face time on this here blog.
"Honey, you are a natural."
I guess this also means I'm getting that new Kara body I spoke about a couple of days ago. I can't very well play the piano without movable wrists. Time for a Target trip!
ID Help Needed!
Does anyone know what this is?
Or can you offer any suggestions as to what it might have been attached to? It was another thrift store find. The carriage part is removable. I just may take it off and make a stroller, but it would be nice to know what it was originally. Thanks.
Thanks to Taylor, the mystery has been solved!
Wow! Who would have thought? I will proceed to turn this into a stroller for Barbie.
Oooh, beautiful work! I can't wait to see your progress!
ReplyDeleteVita Plastica - Thanks! Need to find some small piano hinges for the key cover.
DeleteThe piano looks lovely all finished. I'm sure all the kids will enjoy learning how to play it. I can't wait to see you get a new body upgrade!
ReplyDeleteVerona - After I finish all the other parts, I will give it a couple more coats of stain and then a little shine.
DeleteI am loving that piano and all of the stories that will evolve from it. I hope we actually hear piano music when it is completed...hint hint. :-)
ReplyDeleteGrandmommy - Well, when I took my 30 min break today, I ended up turning on my dusty keyboards, and playing a new tune. I don't know that you will hear any real tunes, but we shall see.
Deleteits a zhu zhu pet thing and it is attach to a zhu zhu pet
ReplyDeleteTaylor - Thanks so much for the info! I'm going to look that up.
DeleteYou're very welcome my friend! Glad I could help. Home Depot sells great verathane too! Your piano looks great! I think the double stroller was some zhu zhu pet accessory, but I'm not sure what. :-)
ReplyDeleteCindi - Thanks. I bought the Cabernet at Lowes. I did go to Home Depot and I think I bought some Varathane in black walnut.
DeleteThe piano looks amazing Vanessa! Love the stain color, great idea Cindy. :)
ReplyDeleteYou're lucky to live in an area where you see the SIS girls. I haven't seen anymore since I got Marisa and Chandra. Oh well, guess I'll take it as a hint that I don't need to be spending anymore money anyway, LOL.
I don't think I've ever seen that carriage before, sorry. It does seem like it will make great strollers. Can't wait to see your finished projects!
Tracy - Thanks. Yes, I'm still seeing the SIS girls in multiples at Target and Walmart. I'm going to pick up a couple more tomorrow. I don't want them to disappear all of a sudden.
DeleteWill you be making any pianos for your Etsy store? This one is turning out wonderfully well. Looking forward to seeing Vanessa in more stories.
ReplyDeletelimbe dolls - I'm waiting to see how this prototype turns out, before I decide if one will go in the store. So far, so good.
DeleteI hope so, I have been wanting an upright piano for my dolls badly! I am also anxious to see what your four post bed will look like. I need to start saving my duckies so I do not miss out.
DeleteAG Lanc - I'm going to work a little faster, now, so I can have a couple to put in the store. But I would say you have some time to save up. LOL!
DeleteBaby hamster stroller ? Who could guess it!
ReplyDeletePiano looks really great! Can't wait to see it finished!
jewel snake - How do they come up with some of these things? Thanks. I can't wait to see it finished, either.
DeleteHello from Spain: I like your idea of the car for babies Barbie. The piano is awesome. Nice pictures of the girl learning to play the piano. Keep in touch
ReplyDeleteMarta - Thanks! It will be a nice challenge to try to turn that piece into a Barbie stroller.
DeleteThe piano is coming along very nice! Great job! Do you plan to put a glaze on it? I look forward to all of the play that you sure to get out of it. Thanks for the info on stain color. I really do need to make a Home Depot run.
ReplyDeleteGeorgia Girl - Thanks. I don't think there will be a glaze, but it will add another coat of stain and a bit of shine.
DeleteThat's a sweet looking piano you are building. I like that color a lot.
ReplyDeleteMuff - Thanks. I love this stain. I'm going to invest in a few more colors to experiment.

ReplyDeleteYour piano looks very nice!
ReplyDeleteRoxanne - Thanks!
DeleteThe piano looks great - and I'm glad the mystery of the piano teacher has been solved. And strollers for hamsters- well, well. Will be interesting to see your transformation (or is it technically a restoration?).
ReplyDeleteCarrickters - Thanks. I think it will be a major transformation.
DeleteGreat progress on the piano. I like the stain color suggestion/choice.
ReplyDeleteI am glad the stroller mystery has been solved. Members of your doll family can certainly put it to better use than hamsters.
dbg
DBG - Thanks. I've been wanting to make a stroller from scratch. This will be good practice.
DeleteYay, more online time for 1:6 Vanessa. Cool piano.
ReplyDeleteD7ana - Thanks!
DeleteYou're doing a great job with that piano, and the tint fits perfectly well. But definitely you will have to look for a body with pivotal wrists...
ReplyDeleteRossetti - Thanks! The body swap happened yesterday. I now have fully functioning wrists.
DeleteThe piano is very nice, going to be great when you finish it! Curious gadget, I want to see in what you convert it!
ReplyDeleteFarbield - Thanks. I took the stroller apart today to start the conversion. Hope I can pull it off.
DeleteWow, your piano is really coming out nice. So talented!
