So Who's Bruce?

It's dinner time at the local pizza hut.

Shantavia is taking the free moments she has to get caught up on some of her projects.

"Are you ready to order?"  (Waitress)
"Not yet.  I'm waiting for my daughter to arrive first."  (Shantavia)
"Okay.  I'll check back in a bit."  (Waitress)

"Can I get spaghetti?"  (Older Daughter)
"Sure.  You can get whatever you want."  (Mark)

"Are you guys ready to order?"  (Waitress)

"I think we are.   I'll have a small personal pan combo pizza."  (Linda)
"And we will both have your spaghetti and meatballs."  (Mark)
"Okay. I'll go put your order in."  (Waitress)

Meanwhile, Jason has arrived without Jada.  He sits down across from Shantavia.
"Hey."  (Jason)
"Hey.  Where's Jada?"  (Shantavia)
"She's in the car with Lynn.  I needed to talk to you first."  (Jason)

"Today when we were at the store, she called out to some man named Bruce.  Do you know anything about this?"  (Jason)
"Bruce was at the store?  Bruce is a friend of mine."  (Shantavia)
"I take it he's been hanging around my daughter? "  (Jason)

"He has met Jada, but he doesn't 'hang around' her."  (Shantavia)
"What do you know about this guy?"  (Jason)
"Here we go, again.  Why is it that every time I get a friend, you want to give me the 3rd degree like I'm your child."  (Shantavia)

"My concern is Jada, and making sure some dude doesn't get too close to my daughter.  You know there are some crazy people out here that do crazy things with kids."  (Jason)
"Yes, I know that.  I'm not stupid enough to trust any man around her without me being there.  She is my main concern, too."  (Shantavia)

"Well I want to meet this Bruce guy to make sure he understands."  (Jason)
"When the time is right, you will meet him, but for now, you will just have to trust that I can protect her, just like I trust you every time she is in your care.  Now please go get my daughter.  I haven't seen her all week."  (Shantavia)

"One pizza and two orders of spaghetti.  I'll be right back with your drinks and some silverware." (Waitress)

"There's my little angel."  (Shantavia)

"Mommy missed you.  Did you have a good time?"  (Shantavia)
"Hi mommy.  Yes, but Daddy forgot to take me to the zoo."  (Jada)
"I didn't forget, Jada.  It was way too hot to be at the zoo.  We will do it when it gets cooler."  (Jason)

"We will continue our conversation, later."  (Jason to Shantavia)

"Jason, there isn't anything left to discuss.  Jada, say bye to your daddy."  (Shantavia)
"Bye, Daddy."  (Jada)
"Bye honey.  Shantavia I will call you tomorrow."  (Jason)
"Goodbye, Jason."  (Shantavia)

    3. jasica - Yes, Shantavia is Jada's mom. She is the photographer in town. She and Jason haven't been together since Jada was born. Jason is now married to Lynn and they have a new baby girl.

  2. Ahhh, pizza! It seems to me that Jason and Shantavia have some trust issues concerning Jada. I guess Jason is just being careful.

    1. Verona - I just had a slice of pizza. Jason is just very protective. It also seems like he may have some control issues that we didn't know were there. We will have to see how this plays out.

  3. I am torn on this one and I can't take sides. I see Jason's point that he wants his daughter to be safe and there are a lot of crazy people out there. I know sometimes the men can play things off to trick a woman too. But then again I can see Shantavia's point too. She is her mother and she wouldn't just let any man or woman for that matter around her daughter if she didn't trust them. At least Jason is a good father. I am sorry they couldn't be together but his wife is a pretty woman as well.

    1. April - It's a tough one. I'm sure Shantavia likes that he is protective, but I can understand her not wanting him impeding on her relationship. That's liable to run Bruce off.

  4. I am sure Jason's concern for Jada is legitimate, but I wonder if he has issues with Shantavia moving on with her life like he has done.

    1. DBG - I think he might. I'm not sure if the concern is Jada developing a close relationship to another man, especially if Shantavia decides to get married, OR, if there is comfort in seeing the mother of his child single. You can never tell what a person is feeling/thinking. Especially a man.

  5. Love the pizza hut made me want to order A SUPREME PAN pizza right now. Im glad Jason asked Shantavia to be introduced to Bruce most just become stalkers and ambush their prey. She was right to turn him down and let him know she can take care of her daughter just like he can. I do hope she warns Bruce about Jasons concerns though.

    1. Mustiwait - Shortly after I posted the story, my mom came by with a pizza. Normally I am able to say no, but this time I had a slice.

The waitress is the AA Stardoll I just bought for $10.48 from Target. She is on an Artsy fahsionista body.

  7. Although this was a serious conversation between Jason and Shantavia, I had to laugh at the end. Go, Shantavia! Like DBG, I wonder how much of his concern is due to dislike of Shantavia's getting close to someone. I appreciate and love that he is concerned, but he seems a bit bossy.

    Great new story!

    1. D7ana - I think sometimes no matter if the person has moved on it's hard to see the mother of your child with another man. We are all such complex creatures.

    2. That makes sense.

That's part of the fun and drama of relationships, hmmm? Mixed feelings. Oh the angst of being human ;-D

  8. I like I like. But, I think Bruce should have introduced himself and shaken Jason's hand explaining who he was. So, I put a little responsibility on Bruce.

    1. Grandmommy - Bruce didn't even see them when they were at the store or else I'm sure he would have introduced himself. Jada called his name as he was headed out the door.

    2. Ohhhhh ok...I need to go back I thought he spoke to her too. In that case he is off the hook. I can understand Jason's feelings, needs to bring it down a notch with the insistance.

    1. Carrickters - Life would be easy if there were only two stories developing. There's a whole town of stories developing. My poor brain! I am shutting the doors to this town. NO MORE RESIDENTS allowed.

  12. Jason is just being a dude and a dad and an ex. It's to be expected. Shantavia did right to hold her own though.

Wow, those Pizza hut waitresses sure do dress sexy!

    1. Muff - You are so right. They are both acting pretty normal in this case. Better that Jason act a little overprotective than not care at all.

Girl, I had to put those multiple Artsy dresses to work. You may see them again in some other restaurant, too.

  14. I love when you do two stories going on at once. It's like a TV show. I was not interested in that Stardoll but man, she is gorgeous. You are a bad influence!

    1. Vita Plastica - I wasn't either. I always thought she was cute, but I wasn't paying $22 for her. $10 is a different story. Go to your local Target. She may be on clearance.

  16. Hello from Spain: a great job with the local Pizza Hut. You have much furniture. I like the pizza box on the wall. It is very real. I think Jason is jealous of his ex-wife and yet he loves her. I am excited to see the new doll you bought the day of your birthday ... I'm nervous to see this doll ... Keep in touch

    1. Marta - Thanks. I'm trying to get around to using as much of the furniture that I can. I don't like having things sitting around unused. The new doll has shipped. Should be here any day now.

Ok, Shantavia is a new favorite. I love how she handled Jason. She was firm without getting into an argument. She let him know, look...I appreciate your concern but I love and protect Jada, just like you. And furthermore, I'm grown over here. LOL.

She's one tough cookie, love it.
