Even though the weather has been fairly mild, Dasia knows she needs to get prepared for the cold weather. She recently bought this outfit (that I made) from Ni'Chalet's. The two pieces are now available in my etsy store. To be completely honest, she saw Roberta with a pair of pants made from this plaid material and she fell in love with them. She was ecstatic when she was able to find them in her size. I don't know how Roberta is going to feel about this.
Speaking of plus sized.... Project Runway just crowned their first plus sized designer, Ashley Nell Tipton. They even allowed her to design for plus sized models in the finale. It was nice to see.

Dasia looks so nice and ready for the season change. Woot woot to Ashley and Project Runway for acknowledging Plus Sized Peaches!
ReplyDeleteBrenova - Thanks. Love the phrase plus sized peaches.
DeleteDashia's outfit is really beautiful, I love the pants! And Ashley's collection is too, I hope to see these episodes here too soon!
ReplyDeleteLinda - Thanks. They are perfect fall/winter pants.
DeleteI like Dasia's new outfit. I think Roberta will understand that they (um, you) made more than one pair of pants.
ReplyDeleteI think Ashley could match Christian Siriano in the plus size world. She's really good. I think Ashley Stewart, Lane Bryant and a few other places may try to get her to work put something out for them. Her win will not go unnoticed.
Janainah - Thanks. I made them for Roberta first and wasn't planning to make any for Dasia. I just can't seem to stop sewing for her. Roberta is still waiting for more clothes for her wardrobe.
DeleteAshley is good. Hopefully she can keep her confidence up because she will soar if she does.
DeleteThis is quite a classy outfit, and really befits Dasia! I like Ashley's fashions a lot, they are very interesting. I've pinned the second one for my future Frida's inspired fashions....
ReplyDeletebilla's dolls - Thanks. She is constantly thinking of new items she can use. I'll keep my eyes open for the Frida's fashion post.
DeleteHello from Spain: I really like Daisa's outfit. Feel great on her. ¿Is proyect runway a TV program?. keep in touch
ReplyDeleteMarta - Thanks. Yes, Project Runway is a TV program. You can see episodes on YouTube.
DeleteDasia's outfit does look all warm and cozy! The chill has already hit us here, albeit on and off! We had temps in the 30's at the end of October, then in the 70's for a few days and now it is in the 40's and 50's! That is why we love Michigan! Tell Roberta, imitation is the sincerest form of flattery!
ReplyDeletePhyllis - Thanks. Wow, your weather is on a roller coaster ride. We are still fairly warm here in Atlanta, but we've been getting tons of rain lately. Dasia lives in VA and it will get colder there before here. Did you get my response to the email you sent me?
DeleteDasia has such great fashion sense thanks to you, Vanessa.

DBG - Thanks. Wish I could get my own wardrobe to grow as quickly as hers is.
DeleteI love Dasia do you have any idea where I can get shoes for her?
ReplyDeleteSue - I did a blog post about shoes for her. The shoes I use were purchased many years ago. A company still sells similar shoes, that look just like this, but I think they are a little bigger in size than the ones I have. Mine are size 7, but you may want to order a size 8 (that is a smaller size believe it or not) to get a better fit. Check out my post here. http://vansdolltreasures.blogspot.com/2015/04/shoes-and-skirt-for-dasia.html
DeleteDasis is such a great model for all those fabulous items you create. She a trailblazer for sure.
ReplyDeleteBrini - Thanks! I can't get over how much this doll inspires me to sew. And to think I almost didn't buy one.
DeleteDasia is such a super model! :-) I love the fashions that you are making for her. She wears them well. I plan to pick up a few for Christmas gifts to myself soon. :-) Do you extra fabric of the pants?
ReplyDeleteHappy Sunday my friend!
Georgia Girl - Yes she is. She's thinking about putting in an application for the local modeling company. lol. I listed two pair of pants. One sold already. I do have enough material to make a couple more pair.
DeleteThey say that good friends dress have similar taste so maybe that's why Dasia wanted the plaid pants. They do look good on her.
ReplyDeleteAnd it's good to see a plus-size designer win on any fashion program. Her designs look very pretty.
Carrickters - Thanks. I think Roberta would feel better about it if it wasn't the only thing I had made for her compared to all the stuff I've made for Dasia.
DeleteI always love a post about Dasia and she is looking spectacular this time.
ReplyDeleteRoville - She did a little twirl and said thanks!
DeleteWhat a fantastic outfit for Dasia! Love it.
ReplyDeleteI like Ashley's designs. I'd wear a skirt like that, with all those flower embellishments. So would my dollies. <3
Sarah - Thanks! That flower skirt was her finale look.
DeleteAhe's gorgeous! This is really nice! Who doesn't love plaid?
ReplyDeleteLady LoLo - Thanks. Plaid has always been one of my faves.
DeleteThank you for posting this! It raised my sister's self esteem big time! :)
ReplyDeleteLeandra - Awww, you're welcome. I'm glad to hear that about your sister.
DeleteI love this outfit, especially the sweater. Dasia looks just great in it!!!!!
ReplyDeleteVery nice!
ReplyDeleteI only watched a few episodes of this season. Now that you say she won I might go back and check the rest of the series.
Muff - It was an interesting season. Tim Gunn went off on one of the contestants and cursed him out. It was so un-Tim like.
