The KidKraft Glamorous house arrived on Tuesday Today after making some room in the basement, I was able to get it constructed. I immediately called Sunni to let her know it was ready to show. She called the stagers, who rushed over with furnishings.
Hours later, Sunni is on site to prep for tomorrow's open house.
She enters through the door in the kitchen.
(I may extend the kitchen and add a dining area through the door she is entering)
The kitchen is small because of the large appliances. She will have to play up the stainless steel.
(Sidenote: These appliances may not stay. If I can find a smaller kitchen that I like, I may switch it out)
She moved on to the bathroom. She's happy with the color combo. The separate tub and shower will be a huge selling point. (The bathtub and the turquoise trash can are from Mattel. I think the toilet is too. The house comes with a green tub, but it was too small).
For the shower I added a Mattel shower to the opening that was already there. All I need now is the shower curtain.
Sunni heads upstairs to the living area.
(I took the stairs that were inside, and I temporarily added them to the front of the house. If you look to the left, you can see the shower.)
She's thrilled with the living area. The colors pop, and the low furniture makes the room look larger.
She takes a seat on the sofa and takes a look around.
The lamp next to the yellow chair, came with the house. The sofa and the chair are from the Ikea set.
Forgive this blurry picture. It's the only one I took of the elevator. I added the elevator because it was so cute. Chances are I will remove it so I can get more space.
With the elevator in place, I only have a little area for dining.
If I take the elevator out, I can create a nice dining room. Of course, if I switch to a smaller kitchen, or extend the kitchen area, I can put the dining table in the kitchen area.
(This dining set came with the house.)
Sunni makes her way to the bedroom. She sits on the sofa and visualizes different room layouts.
(Everything you see here came with the house.)
A close up.
I am considering adding a closet through the opening behind the sofa. I will be covering the opening in the floor, since I won't be using the stairs inside.
Sunni will suggest different layouts to the clients. She will also suggest different ways to use the bedroom. For example, adding an office area
She will also suggest ways to make this a two-bedroom for someone who may need that. Perhaps for a child's room,
or a nursery.
She visualizes a smaller crib that would probably work better with the low furniture.
Of course added walls aren't really necessary, especially if the client is a single mom or dad.
After leaving the room, Sunni wonders what the room would have looked like with the bed on the far side.
She can't wait to see who shows up for the open house. Neither can I. We both know this house won't be on the market long.
I love it! The colors are nice. You are already working it and you barely have furniture in there. I am looking so forward to seeing what you do with it. Congratulations on getting it!
ReplyDeleteGeorgia Girl - Thanks. It's so nice to get a house and not have to think about repainting it.
DeleteLove the tour - This house is fabulous (as is that clawfoot tub)!
ReplyDeletejSarie - Thanks. I've had that tub forever. Guess I haven't been doing too many bathroom scenes.
DeleteLovely abode..I love the customizing ideas. When you finish fluffing and puffing this house, someone will have a great home.
ReplyDeleteBrenova - Thanks. I still don't know who will get it. I'm waiting to see who shows up before Sunni and I decide.
DeleteI really like it.When you finish customizing it will be perfect.
ReplyDeleteMy doll stuff - Thanks. It will be fun to add all the extras.
DeleteI love that you have a tiny real estate agent! So cute. I'm another fan of that tub, too.
ReplyDeleteSarah - Sunni has been selling houses for 6 yrs now. She was busy early on when all the new people were moving into town. Now she's busy again with all the new builds happening.
DeleteHello from Spain: I also have a house with elevator. The elevator eliminates space in the house. I really like the rooms and furniture. Your new home is awesome. I like very much. Keep in touch
ReplyDeleteMarta - As cute as those elevators are, they sure take up a lot of room. I much prefer the space.
DeleteQuick work getting this house set up. I like that you have options you can do to make it suitable for more than one of your families to use. I agree with you on the elevators -- they take up a lot of space and really limit your options. I also like the idea of adding a dining space next to the kitchen. I think it will really expand the areas. You are really tempting me to get some of these Kid Kraft houses too!
ReplyDeletePhyllis - I had to work fast. I didn't want that country estate showing up with this one still boxed. I didn't think of the dining space until the very last moment. I think that is the way to go. Some of these houses take up less space than what I was using with my makeshift houses. You know I love being the enabler.
DeleteGreat buy! This house is very stylish. :-)
ReplyDeleteTracy - I always wanted to invest in real houses. Never got around to it. So now I'm investing in little houses.
DeleteEVERYTHING THT EVRYONE SAID, LOOKING SO.... GOOD, GREAT JOB AS USUAL. TH FAMILY WILL B SOOOOO HAPPY W THIS HOUSE :)
ReplyDeleteLadonna - Thanks. I agree some family is going to be very happy.
DeleteSunni has so many wonderful ideas! Iwonder who will be the happy owner of this great house.
ReplyDeleteLOVE IT!
billa's dolls - I'm looking forward to seeing who shows up for the open house. I think there will be characters there I haven't seen in a long time.
DeleteWow, what an awesome house. Love the idea of extending the kitchen. And the potential layouts for the bedroom are gold, especially being able to turn it into a 2.
ReplyDeleteDolly Girl Iris - Thanks. Welcome to my blog. I just popped over and checked out your blog. I am a now a fan and a follower.
DeleteI saw a doll house yesterday at the thrift store and while it was only $6 I just don't have the room for it. I'll just have to settle for drooling over yours!
ReplyDeleteKMQ - Wow, do you know which house it was? I've bought quite a few Barbie houses from the thrift store. One of my readers recently found a KidKraft house at her thrift store.
DeleteI LOVE the kitchen set ... it looks like the Sears pieces from a few years ago.
ReplyDeletePlease thank Sunni for sharing the new house photos ;-)
D7ana - That is the Sears kitchen from years ago. I stuck it in this house, temporarily. Sunni said she hopes you will come back for the actual open house.
DeleteOh, yes, I'll be bbbaaacckkk!
DeleteHi Sunni!
Everything looks great. The decor is very IKEA-ish, even without the furniture pieces you added. I can't wait for the open house!
ReplyDeleteJewell - The people were lining up last night to get dressed for the open house. So many people showed up, I had to turn some away. They will have to wait for the next open house.
DeleteLove what you've done with the house!!!! This just looks like way too much fun. While I like the idea of the elevator, I see your point about removing it to make more space for the dining room. Great post!
ReplyDeleteapril - Thanks! I'm looking forward to adding some nice touches to this one. I love the color scheme they already have going, so I'm going to stick with it.
DeleteSo Lovely This Place!
ReplyDeleteAnd all the precious details...Adorable!!
<3
Thanks for stopping by, Jorge!
DeleteWow. I'm totally jealous of a doll house! Too bad my place doesn't look that good.
ReplyDeleteMuff - LOL! Don't feel bad, I would love it if my place was this chic, too.
