Adele Gets a Dress for Church

Did I tell you guys I am a collector of fabric, too?   This is not a desirable hobby I have.  It is what it is.  I always have these grandiose plans when I am in the store buying fabric.  By the time I get home I've usually moved on to a new project that doesn't involve fabric.  So one of my goals is to cut and sew something, from every piece of fabric I own.  Which brings us to Adele's new church dress.  I'm not sure what I originally had in mind for this fabric, but I loved the print and the colors.  I wasn't planning for this to be a Fashion Royalty dress, but I just love sewing for them. 

Not normally her style, but Adele said she can wear it to church.

I'm thinking of making Sydney a coordinating outfit, with the lavender being the main fabric.

Sometimes I cut corners when I am sewing for my dolls, but not this time.  I made this dress as though I was going to sell it.  The bodice is lined in the lavender fabric.  All the seams are nicely finished.  I even ironed every little piece as I went along.  Patting myself on the back for not being a lazy sewer.  

You Mean My Dolls Could Have Had Sweaters All Winter!!!

I was supposed to be making furniture yesterday, but I was not feeling it.  After 2 full days and nights of getting the video together, I was wiped out.  I didn't want the day to pass without doing something doll related, so I took the plunge and made sock sweaters. I have been meaning to do this for a looooong time.

My first attempt at a sweater was so long, I made it a dress. Not bad for the first attempt.

I should have hemmed the top and the bottom, but I didn't know any better. So the sleeves are just turned under. Leslie can still sport this dress.

Her husband recently got a new velour sweatsuit from Etsy. He is the king of sweatsuits. I guess it goes along with owning a gym.

Together they look like the cute couple that they are.

My 2nd attempt was better.  At least it was a sweater.

Still didn't hem the top and bottom. Silly me.

My 3rd attempt is my favorite.

I finally hemmed the bottom. For the top I  zigzagged the edges.

Vanessa is loving her new sweater with her Barbie Basic Jeans.

Next time I make some, I will use some thin socks.  I think thin socks will make a tighter neckline.

Leslie and Antoinette get new work outfits

If you have been following my blog, you know that I am introducing the families and telling you about their life.  Well the ladies (the dolls) decided they needed a new wardrobe if they were going to be videoed regularly.  I must say I agreed with them.  So I decided to create each doll their own wardrobe, based on their personality, occupation, etc.  This could keep me busy for years! Well, I started this process 2 days ago. In between making furniture, I was making outfits.  Here are two.  They aren't completely done, but here is the progress thus far.  They are in desperate need of some accessories and some ironing!  And Antoinette needs to schedule a trip to the salon. When you see these outfits again, they will be nicely accessorized, and with any luck hair will be nicely styled.
