We are just outside Ron and Robin's house. Ron has already left for work. Robin and Courtney are ready to leave.
Having only a large one car garage, Robin parks in the garage, while Ron parks in the driveway. There is a little room for Ron's tools.
Courtney is sporting the black dress from the Monster High fashion pack. Her red and white checked jacket is the shirt from the Fern doll in the "I Can Read" series. Robin put her hair in three braids.
They get in the car, and Courtney is trying to take off her backpack.
"Can you get it? Here let me help." (Robin)
They get the backpack off, and Courtney sits on her booster seat and buckles up.
"Let's get this show on the road." (Robin)
"MOMMY! I forgot my bunny for show 'n tell." (Courtney)
"Sorry, sweetie. You will have to take it tomorrow. We do not have time to go back and get it.
Robin is sporting the La Boutique March purse of the month. It's only my second La Boutique purse. I just couldn't pass this one up.
There's Halle. She's chilling poolside with a good book and a nice cocktail. Diego is off making reservations for some of the ship's activities. We will see him next time.
I remembered I needed to find Diana Ross a husband. I was surprised how reasonably priced the boxed Lando dolls were. I got this one for $19.99 and free shipping.
It's not the best Billy Dee sculpt I've seen, but Diana will be happy to see him. The box says he's fully poseable. I don't know what that means in terms of articulation. I will be deboxing him soon.
On to the Cutie Pops outfits I picked up a couple weeks ago for $5. This is how the outfits came packaged. The best doll I have that will fit these clothes is the older style Janet/Stacie doll. I knew I would be cutting off the treats when I first saw this.
I didn't know that the treats just pop off. Duh... I will be using the treats as treats.
The newer Stacie dolls can't fit the clothes, but she can wear the cool boots.
Here is the pajama set, as shown in the pack. It comes with pop tarts and teddy bears. What a combo.
Here it is without the treats.
These will come in handy for breakfast and decor.
Here are the purple bedroom slippers.
Last but not least, I told you I bought this car for $12.50. I deboxed it. Robin took one look at it and said, "I'm not driving that piece of crap." I can't blame her. This car was such a disappointment. I can't even believe that Mattel has that car retailing for $41. It is so cheap looking. The plastic on the inside is poor quality. I have nothing good to say about this car. Don't waste your money. I do like the outfit the doll is wearing, but that is it.
You are just TOO creative! \(^o^)/ I love it. The Billy Dee doll is so cute! lol
ReplyDeleteKenyaDoll - Thanks! Diana will be happy to see her honey.
DeleteGreat updates I might get some of those Cutie pop outfits. If Lando (Billy Dee) is the same one I have and I believe he is. He is not articulated I love Billy Dee and had plans to add him to the stories but I never took the time to find him a body.
ReplyDeleteMustiwait - Thanks. I was pleasantly surprised with with the Cutie Pop clothes. Deep down I knew that Billy Dee wasn't articulated. I'm not sure why the box says poseable. Maybe they intended to make him articulated and changed their mind.
DeleteI love those cute little outfits. My Stacie dolls needs some more clothes.
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing info about the Fiat. I wanted this one but could not justify the high cost. Now, I don't have to worry about that. Lol!
Georgia Girl - It's always nice to find new clothes for the little ones. That Fiat is worth about $10 on a good day.
Delete2 things: First I had no idea you had/there was a Diana Ross doll, Second Lando is cute! great find. I'll be on the look out for that one! thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteValsays - The Diana Ross doll is gorgeous. You can see her in this post, http://vansdolltreasures.blogspot.com/2014/02/kendra-finally-gets-out-photostory.html
DeleteThere are quite a few Lando dolls on ebay at great prices.
I can't wait to see Billy and Diana together. Will they be a part of your elite families? I would have gotten that handbag too, so luxurious looking. Your dolls are too spoiled! I see ya Ms. Berry, relaxing and looking like a bag of money. Those Cutie Pops clothes although cute can be annoying if you were a mother who is OCD about keeping up with pieces. Now I'm thinking about "borrowing" them from my little one. I'm smh head about the fiat I actually thought it would be nice. Thanks for the heads up! Be blessed.
ReplyDeleteDoll Crazy - Yes, Billy and Diana will be part of the elites. The cutie pop come with a bracelet where the kids can put the pops when not in use. The fiat was such a disappointment.
DeleteLove the clothing! That's too bad about the Fiat (or whatever the brand) of car is. It's so cute in the promo pic. :-(
ReplyDeleteI have the same Billy Dee cadres ad Brooklyn's father and Joyce's (Uptown Barbie) husband. He's definitely not articulate. His arms twist in/out but he doesn't have elbow or wrist articulation and his knees ate ben click. Still, not a bad character and obviously Diana will look perfect with him but you might be disappointed with his body.
See you next post. :-)
Tracy - That Fiat is much cuter in the promo pics than in person. I didn't think this Billy Dee was articulated, so I was surprised to see poseable on the box. He can sit down so he may keep his body. We'll see.
DeleteI think that's actually a pretty good Billy Dee comparison, especially for the cost. I mean, if he was unboxed and in different clothes, I would still say, "Hey, that doll looks like Billy Dee Williams!" Colt 45!
ReplyDeleteI'm out of room for cars but I was thinking about getting that fiat and now... not so much, lol.
Muff - I agree it's a good likeness, but I have seen one that was a little more realistic. Don't even waste your time on this car unless you can get it REAL cheap.
DeleteI also have several Star Wars action figures (not this one) and their articulation is different. Old Obi-Wan Kenobi and Han Solo have poor articulation, Luke Skywalker has articulated arms, but not legs, young Obi-Wan is fully articulated. I always thought it was very strange - action figures without articulation. I also have little Anakin, he is about Stacie size and articulated, but doesn't have feet.
ReplyDeleteDukasha - Thanks for sharing info about the other figures. I've seen Anakin. I would love to add him one day.
DeleteAnakin is really nice. But it's not easy to have in a doll family a boy, who can't take off his boots. :) He looks very strange in many situations.
DeleteHello from Spain: Courtney is lovely. I like her outfit very muh. Great garage. Very real. The bag is a great purchase. I like Lando. I had not seen before. I have the same car Fiat and I agree with you that too much plastic but in my country is very expensive: $ 50! You did a very cheap buy. Keep in touch
ReplyDeleteMarta - Thanks. Courtney is all set for a great day at school. As for the car, it only bothers me that they used such poor quality plastic and put such a high price tag on it. It's so overpriced for what you get.
DeleteI have those cutie pop outfits but purchased them for my Blythe- thank you for showing in this review that they fit the Stacey/Whitneys- I have a couple of those little dolls.
ReplyDeleteThe car I cannot believe is priced at that much- at least the cruiser had all kinds of bells and whistles. Thank you for giving us car fanatics a heads up on this one. I wish Mattel would make a Pick up truck for Ken! I have some classic GI Joes and would love to get them a pickup truck. Back to surfing for vintage vehicles, lol.
Lisa - Good to know they fit the Blythe dolls, too. I was thinking about a pick up truck, too. I know there is an RC pickup truck out there. Someone found one at a thrift store and it's very nice!
DeleteThanks for the heads up on the Fiat. I thought about getting it too but not for $41. I really wish Mattel would make a pick up truck. That would be cool! Thanks also for showing the clothes. I was thinking of getting those for Stacie. :-)
ReplyDeleteCindi - Do not buy that car unless you can get a great deal. Mattel would probably make the truck pink. I don't think they are qualified to make a decent pick up truck.
DeleteLove Robin's outfit! And Halle looks flawless hanging at the poolside. The Cutie Pops outfits are adorable. Now I'm on the lookout for the denim one. Thanks Vanessa.
ReplyDeleteadrian - Thanks and you're welcome. I found Robin's coat on ebay a few years ago. I made the skirt about a year ago. Time sure does fly. Hope you are able to find the outfits. I hope they continue producing them.
DeleteI LOVE Robin's reaction to the Fiat. Go girl!
ReplyDeleteThe Cutie Pops outfits are adorable. I'd use the treats as food goodies, too. Who wears sweets? Never mind - someone might, lol.
At least your Lando has the complexion right - this Hasbro Lando has articulation, but he's much darker. I LOVE that guy, but he's not the best Billy Dee likeness. Shrug.
D7ana - Robin said she had a reputation to uphold and that car was not going to help. I like the real hair on your Billy Dee. That sculpt looks really close. If they had made him a tad lighter, I think it would have been perfect.
DeleteRacquel just ordered some new handbags for her boutique. Maybe that will give me the boost I need to finish setting it up.
The Billy Dee I have - Hasbro's Return of the Jedi
DeleteLando Calrissian has molded hair. The detail is incredible - they carefully molded almost every tendril ;-)
Oh and I LOVE that La Boutique bag. Super.
ReplyDeleteAnd hi to Halle drinking red wine on the deck. Good to see her chilling. I look forward to seeing Diego again. In the future ...
The clothes look better without the treats and vice versa :-). Love the bag! I like the garage too. Promotion pictures often are deceiving, a good thing you didn't pay much for the car if you don't like the quality! I wish I was in Halle's place :-)!!!
ReplyDeleteNymphaea - I like the clothes without the treats. Otherwise, it looks like a kid who was eating a snack and got it stuck on their clothes.
ReplyDeleteYeah,I got the Cutie Pops jean ad sweater set too a while back on sale on for Stacie. I wonder what else could be attached to the pants. I diidn't. See the pj's. When I was there.
ReplyDeleteCongratz on Billy Dee! I have him too and he is a fav!
On the car, so many things are made so cheaply now. Soda cans are barely strong enough to hold soda. But $41, you should expect more! Competition always makes Mattel do better.
Ms. Leo - The Cutie Pops outfits are adorable. It's always a plus to find clothes that fit the old Stacies.
DeleteI wonder if Mattel had to pay licensing fees for the Fiat name? That's the only reason I can think they would charge so much for this cheaply made car.
I agree with you, the car is realistic but with poor qualitly... I bought it cheaper than its original price, so we were lucky to find it cheaper ;)
ReplyDeleteI love Cutie Pops outfits, it´s really nice!
Ana - Congrats on getting that car on sale. I'm glad that it photographs well. I guess that matters quite a bit.
