It's the day after and Kendra and baby are doing well. She and Nathaniel decided to name him Cameron.
Kendra has gotten Cameron ready for his first visitors. He's been fed and changed.
Kendra finds herself staring at him all the time. She's still in awe that he is here.
Cameron's first visitors are his great aunt Camille, and his uncle, Darius.
"Hi guys! Come on in." (Kendra)
Camille heads straight to the crib, and Darius goes to give his sister a hug.
"Congratulations, sis! I'm so proud of you." (Darius)
"Thanks. Where's Nikki?" (Kendra)
"She got stuck at work. She said she will stop by later." (Darius)
"Is it okay for me to pick him up?" (Camille)
"Sure." (Kendra)
After Camille takes the baby from the crib, Darius moves the crib to the side.
"Well hello little fella. I'm so happy to finally meet you." (Camille)
Cameron sits attentively with his little balled up fists.
"I can see both you and Nathaniel in him." (Camille)
"You think so? I wasn't sure who he looked like." (Kendra)
"Alright Auntie. Stop being a baby hog. It's time for him to meet his uncle." (Darius)
"Be careful. This is precious cargo." (Camille)
"Hey Cameron. This is your uncle Darius. I have big plans for you." (Darius)
"I think he likes you. Look at that smile he's giving you." (Kendra)
"He knows I'm going to be the one who introduces him to all the ladies." (Darius)
"So when will you and the baby get to go home?" (Camille)
"We can leave tomorrow after we both get one final check up." (Kendra)
"Waaah, waaah!" (Cameron)
"Uh oh. What's wrong Cameron? Come to Mommy." (Kendra in her newly discovered baby voice)
Kendra puts the bear on the bed and reaches out for Cameron.
"I don't know. He shouldn't be hungry. Maybe he's wet again." (Kendra)
As soon as Kendra puts Cameron in her arms, he stops crying.
"Well would you look at that? Spoiled already." (Camille laughing)
"He can't be spoiled already, can he?" (Kendra)
"No sugar. I was just kidding." (Camille)
Epilogue:
1) Just in case you were wondering, Nathaniel went home to get some rest.
2) I wonder if Nikki really got stuck at work, or if she chose not to come with Darius?
3) Do you see the muscles on Darius. My, my, my.
4) The crib is from the Gloria set. I painted it. You can see the original in this previous post.
5) In case you missed it, Kendra gave birth to Cameron in yesterday's post.
6) I named the baby Cameron, because it's close to my stepdaughter's name, Carmen. She too, just gave birth to a baby boy just last week.
Hello from Spain: beautiful round crib. Lovely. The pictures are very cute. I like the name of baby about your stepdaughter's. The photos are fabulous and very real. I like the teddy bear. Keep in touch
ReplyDeleteMarta - Thanks. Kendra is settling into her new mommy role quite well.
DeleteAwe This was so sweet and well worth the wait! I truly admire your talent and creativity. keep the posts coming!
ReplyDeleteVernette - Thanks! Now that the baby has been born, I think the posts will come more frequently. That was a weight lifted off my shoulders.
DeleteDon't stress everything is too cute to stress. I promise if you just posted pic's people would be happy. I don't recommend this... I'm just saying Lol!
DeleteQue autêntico tesouro um bébé!
ReplyDeleteAdorei todos os pormenores. Parabens!
Emma - Thanks! Todo mundo está tão animado para conhecer o novo bebê.
DeleteCongratulations.
ReplyDeleteDuke of Swann - Thanks!
Deleteawwww he is so cute and looks just like his dad. is that a new mattel baby doll you received?
ReplyDeletecoolsinger - lol. No, he's not new. I have a lot of babies here that haven't been used yet.
DeleteCameron is so adorable! I love little babies. And Darius? Mmm. Nice! Where can I get one of him? :-)
ReplyDeleteCindi - If you haven't guessed by now, I love little babies, too. As soon as I find a stash of real Darius men, I will let you know.
DeleteWelcome baby Cameron! Nathaniel and Kendra should take in every moment they grow up sooo fast...well maybe not the plastic ones lol! Why wouldn't Nikki want to come with (so fine) Darius?
ReplyDeleteAG Lanc - Thanks! I will try to impress upon them, the importance of enjoying every little minute they have with him. Oh have you missed the posts with Darius pressuring Nikki to have a baby? Here is one of them so you will better understand why Nikki wants to visit without him around. http://vansdolltreasures.blogspot.com/2012/10/darius-and-nikki-starting-their-day.html
DeleteI like the name of baby and his crib is very cute. Nice pictures ;)
ReplyDeleteSee you soon!
Ana - Thanks. I think the name suits him quite well. Hasta pronto.
DeleteYou have captured very touching moments. Cameron is lucky to be welcomed into such a warm, loving family.
ReplyDeletelimbe dolls - Thanks! I think Cameron is in great hands. He has two loving parents and an incredible loving extended family.
DeleteCameron is a nice name. I have a nephew, Cameron.
ReplyDeleteIt is obvious that Kendra is going to be a doting mother.
Love the crib!
dbg
DBG - I don't know any Camerons personally. Isn't that the perfect little crib? If I ever have a baby, I want one just life that. No, I'm not planning to have a baby.
DeleteThat baby voice comes out of nowhere. I didn't know I had one in me until I had Christopher. LOL! Love the bassinet.
ReplyDeleteSo if I compliment Darius on his muscles will he get over the shoe thing? He looks like he's been hittin' the gym hard and he looks really good.
Kenya - I can't really picture you with a baby voice. lol. I have one with my dog(s).
DeleteYou know how men are. Complimenting those muscles will go a long way. He will probably go home and tell Nikki you said he had nice muscles. Did you want to tell him that Nikki's a lucky girl? LOLOL! (For others reading this, this comment is a tie in to one of Kenya's blog post called Men to Men.)
Believe me, I didn't use that voice long or on any other baby.
DeleteLOL - I hope I'm not too late. Tell him to keep that on the down low. Women don't wanna hear that stuff.
Kenya - I still use that voice, and I don't even have kids. I still use it for Bruce, my dog, who I affectionately call Nickerdoodle.
DeleteYou're not too late. Darius hasn't seen Nikki yet. I will relay the message.
Vanessa, thus is one of my favorite of your photostories. So sweet!!! I love love the crib! Uncle Darius is HOT! Kendra is lovely as ever. Looking forward to seeing what you have on the plate next...it keeps getting better and better.
ReplyDeleteGeorgia Girl - Thanks. I think Darius' hotness helped this be one of your favorite posts. lol. That little round crib makes the perfect bassinet.
DeleteVisitar a tu sobrinito es muy tierno, felicidades a toda la familia.
ReplyDeletelindaivette - Creo que Darío se va a hacer un gran tío. Cameron debería considerarse afortunado.
DeleteKendra and Cameron will probably have lots of visitors. I bet Kendra can't wait to get home with Cameron though.
ReplyDeleteCarrickters - I'm not sure she's in a rush to get home. Right now the nurses tend to him during the night to make sure she's getting some rest to rebuild her strength. I think she's gong to miss that when she leaves.
DeleteThe baby is so cute in his new clothes, but I must confess the star of this post is Darius... He looks lovable holding the baby. Where is Nikki? I hope everything is ok between these two...
ReplyDeleteRossetti - I agree about the Darius comment. He and Nikki are doing great. She just wasn't up for having the baby conversation with Darius again.
DeleteWhat a feeling, watching that guy full of muscles holding a tiny baby!
ReplyDeleteV. - I won't ask what kind of feelings you're having. lol. It is a nice sight to see.
DeleteAww...I love happy endings! Answering on all 4 post. I loved the birthing room. You did a great job with that. ...But Darius muscles though...thank heaven he's a doll. lol The baby is such a cutie pie. Loved the entire story line of this pregnancy.
ReplyDeleteSonya - They are very happy, especially after thinking they weren't ever going to get pregnant. Darius, Darius, Darius. What else can I say? Yes, it's definitely a great thing that he's a doll.
DeleteVanessa, you are my favorite! like wow to darius's muscles. i'm happy that kendra is a mom now.
ReplyDeleteBarbieLover - Thanks! Kendra is ecstatic about her new bundle of joy.
