The Happy Family at Home

The McGraws are spending their first night in their new home.  If you recall, they were one of the families who took a look at Sunni's Open House.   Well, they were the lucky family who successfully purchased the house.  They first saw it on Jan 12th.  They had an offer in the next day, which was accepted.  They closed on  Friday, March 8th.  This is their first night staying in the new house.

Tim is still sound asleep.  I expanded the bedroom a bit, adding a closet for Kate and adding a few walls.  They haven't unpacked all of their belongings yet.  Most of the boxes are still packed downstairs.

"Mommy, am I going to the new school today?"  (William)
"Yes, you certainly are."  (Kate)
"The one we went to with the big playground?"  (William)
"That very one."  (Kate)

"Now can you go wake up, Daddy?  It's time for him to get up."  (Kate)
"Okay."  (William)

"Daddy?  Time to get up."  (William)

"You may have to get closer so he can hear you." (Kate)

"Daddy?  It's time to get up!"  (William)
Tim begins to stir.
"Huh?"  (Tim)

"Oh, is it morning already?  Come give daddy, a hug."  (Tim)

"Mmmm.  Nothing like a hug from my little man, in the morning."  (Tim)

"I'm going to turn on the lights now."  (Kate)

"Ready?"  (Kate)
"Nooo, we want to sleep in."  (Tim)

Kate turns on the lights, anyway.

"You're no fun.  How did morning come so quickly?  I feel like I just shut my eyes."  (Tim)
"You were tossing and turning half the night.  I'm not surprised you are tired."  (Kate)

"Where you going, little man?"  (Tim)
"To the potty."  (William)

"So I was tossing and turning all night, huh?"  (Tim)
"Yes.  It's probably going to take you a little while to get used to the new house."  (Kate)
"I do like the new house.  Seems like a really nice neighborhood, too."  (Tim)
"I can't wait to get the downstairs decorated so we can have a housewarming party."  (Kate)

Meanwhile, William is .....  busy.

Kate crawls back in bed with her husband for a few more minutes.  Can you blame her?

"Mom!  I need help."  (William)

So the McGraws will be working on getting their home unpacked.  They still have quite a bit of remodeling to do, both upstairs and downstairs.  They are in no rush, so that housewarming party may be a few months from now.

    1. Mustiwait - that Joe Boxer pj set came with a lot of bedroom goodies. It was a foreclosure, so they did really well with the price.

  3. Loving what you have done thus far. You do such an amazing job with creating great scenes with partial parts of Mattel homes. They are always on point.

The pic of William in the last pic is my favorite...too cute!

  7. William is so adorable! And I love Kate's smiley PJs. What doll is Kate? She doesn't look like the Faith Hill doll. :-)

    1. Cindi - No, that's not the Faith Hill doll. I found this doll at a local doll show for $2, three years ago. I have no idea who she is. You can see the picture of her when I first got her, here, http://vansdolltreasures.blogspot.com/2010/11/doll-show-goodies-to-redo.html. She is the second to the last picture with the jean dress on.

  11. William is sooo cute. You create the dearest kiddies ;-D

Love the Joe Boxer p.j.s - wish I had bought them when they were out.

Love Kate's closet - how she has the shelves lower and the rod thingie above. Nice to have that combination for storing clothes.

I think that your Kate is a Fashion Fever Barbie.

    1. D7ana - Thanks! The kiddies always tug at my heart. That was a cool Joe Boxer set. It came with so many pieces. I can't believe I kept up with everything. Kate's closet will get some minor upgrades, but for now it works. She needs a high shelf to hold her hats or her handbags. Thanks for the info on Kate.

  12. You have done a good job with the room. It's difficult with small space. I like the wardrobe. I don't want to offend William but he's so cute on the toilet pan !

    1. Claude - Thanks! Yes the small spaces are hard to work with. William only gets offended when the laughter is uncontrollable. Otherwise, he's okay.

  13. I'm glad they got the house and at a good price. William is going to get a prize for cuteness from everyone because he is. It will be interesting to see their house when everything is unpacked and they are settled in.

    2. Can you explain me the meaning of toushy ? I looked at translator and it says : "easily upset or irritated; oversensitive ". Do you mean the bottom ?
Sorry for this question but I would like to know.

    3. Claude - Yes, tousy is slang for bottom. I never mind answering questions.

  15. Moving is a chore and sleeping in a new home can be a little unsettling. I understand why Tim was unable to sleep well.

William is cute. Was he originally male or did you create him from a female doll?

I love the pastel colors of the bathroom.

    1. DBG - Moving is awful! Says me who is still trying to get the basement and family room together. I didn't even move houses and I'm overwhelmed with too much to do. William came like that. He came in a set of 4 slightly larger Kelly dolls that came out in 2004 or 2005. There were at least two different sets that had 3 Kellys (maybe 4) and this Tommy.
