Danielle lucked out when Cassandra, the owner of the Morristown daycare, volunteered for wedding babysitting duties. She really loves working with kids, and figured this was a great way to get more in tune with the community. She brought her teenage daughter, Christina, with her to help.
"Mom, I love this suite."
"I can't believe we get to stay here over night."
"Looks like we are going to be bunking together, tonight."
"There's only one bed? I can just sleep out here."
"Mom, can we order room service?" (Christina)
"We just ate." (Cassandra)
"I know, but they always order room service on TV." (Christina)
"On TV, you never get to see how expensive it is. You can order room service as long as you are paying with your money." (Cassandra)
"In that case, I'll pass." (Christina)
"Can you call to the front desk and ask them for another playpen? They only delivered one, and I ordered two." (Cassandra)
"Okay." (Christina)
After calling about the playpen, Christina starts watching TV, while her mom answers the door.
First to arrive are Michelle and Sunni.
"I am so happy you are looking after the kids. Now I can be at peace knowing they are okay." (Michelle)
"Yes, this is quite the surprise." (Sunni)
"I am happy to help. You know I think of my daycare kids, as my own sometimes." (Cassandra)
"So how's the reception going?" (Cassandra)
"Well everything was going well, but then it got a little strange right before we left." (Michelle)
"Strange? What do you mean strange? What happened?" (Cassandra)
"Well, Rod's father gave a toast and it seemed to throw Rod a little off guard. And then Rod and his brother hustled their father out of the room." (Michelle)
"What?! That is strange." (Cassandra)
The ladies decide it's time to get back to the ballroom. Cassandra takes the kids to the other room and puts the two babies in the playpen and the two toddlers on the bed to watch TV.
"Well we will see you guys in a few hours. They are in good hands." (Cassandra)
"Oh we are not worried. We will see you soon." (Michelle)
Next to arrive is Mike. I guess he took Adele's advice.
"Well hello. Looks like you have your hands full." (Cassandra)
"Hello. I'm Mike and this is my daughter, Sydney. I'm told you are the babysitter for the Rod and Danielle wedding." (Mike)
"You are correct. I'm Cassandra. I'm the owner of the local daycare. I've met Sydney before. She and her mom stopped by to check out the facility one day a couple of weeks ago. I understand you guys are relocating to the area?" (Cassandra)
"Yes." (Mike)
"You are going to love it here. Come into the other room. You can lay her down." (Cassandra)
"Let me take her bag." (Cassandra)
"I left my cell number on a piece of paper in her bag. I will be back in a couple of hours." (Mike)
"Well take your time. We will be here all night." (Cassandra)
Mike leaves and heads back to the ballroom.
"Mom, who is that?" (Christina)
"His name is Mike. He and his wife are relocating to the area soon." (Cassandra)
"Too bad he's married. " (Christina)
"I'm sorry. Is my teenage daughter on the hunt for an older man?" (Cassandra)
"Not for me. For you." (Christina)
Cassandra decides not to entertain her daughter with further conversations on the topic of her love life. Or lack of love life. Luckily there is another knock on the door.
Vanessa and Lisa arrive and plop down in the sitting room. They, too, are discussing what happened in the ballroom.
"Girl, I wish I knew what was going on." (Vanessa)
"Me, too. I bet Antoinette knows, but I didn't want to approach her about it." (Lisa)
"I heard a little about what happened. So I take it his father wasn't at the wedding." (Cassandra)
"I don't recall seeing him there. He just seemed to appear out of the blue." (Lisa)
"Now they never talked about their father much, but when they did, I always got the impression that he had died some years ago. (Vanessa)
"Can you imagine your dead father showing up at your wedding? That's too creepy for me." (Vanessa)
"Clearly the man is not dead. We all saw him standing there in the flesh." (Lisa)
"Well let's get back to the party, so we won't miss anything." (Vanessa)
The ladies leave the kids in Cassandra's capable hands and head back to the ballroom.
Two more kids get dropped off a short time later, which leaves Cassandra and Christina with a total of nine kids altogether. It doesn't take long for all of the kids to drift off to sleep. Apparently, they have had a long day.
Cassandra saves the day! I love her hairut.
ReplyDeleteVerona - Yes she does. She has a hair appointment at The Mane Event. She wants to get her hair blown out a bit.
Delete*haircut*
ReplyDeleteOoh these stories are sooo much better than pm tv shows! Thanks for another winner!
ReplyDeleteMatty - Thanks and you're welcome.
DeleteHey there Vanessa, James here taking over for Loretta. Stopped by to thank you for your visits and comments. I don't know dolls but these look nice. I'll tell Loretta. You take care now! James
ReplyDeleteJames - You are a real sweetheart for stopping by and checking out my dolls. I keep saying you are one in a million. I sure hope Loretta is resting well. Give her a big hug from me. You take care of yourself, too. I hope you are still eating right.
DeleteI know you did not put "so we wont MISS anything" trying to get on in the action I see you Vanessa also I knew when his came in the room at the reception something was going to go down.
ReplyDeleteAlso she looks like my teacher miss green and her name is Cassandra
ReplyDeletejessikaj - Nope, they don't, and I don't want to miss a thing. That's funny that your teacher is named Cassandra.
DeleteThat Great Now The Parents Will Not Have To Worry About Them In The Reception Getting Into Something
ReplyDeleteYour Fan Christina
P.S. Its A Surprise A Character Is My Name...
Christina - Yes, I thought of you when I named her. The parents will be able to party in peace.
DeleteAwwww And I Knw Thank You
DeleteThe suit is super! I like its furnitures and colours. Cassandra is really nice, I love her haircut and the dress Sunni is wearing is too cute!! Did you do it? I'd like to sew one like that, but I don't understand how to make the skirt in that way
ReplyDeleteSergio - Thanks. I did not make Sunni's dress. The skirt part is just a rectangle that is gathered at the top.
DeleteThat's an awesome suite at the Hotel Monaco. Perfect for the mini-daycare. (Maybe I could leave my kids there...hmmm.)
ReplyDeleteAs for Mr. Freeman Taylor being on my short list, that would surely be a scandal in Morristown. : )
Debbie - Thanks. No big kids allowed. Just kidding. There are 2 TV sets there, so they could just hang out and watch TV. Everyone seems to be digging Dr. Sheppard. I have to make sure he stays out of trouble.
DeleteThe hotel suite looks great! I really love the playpens.
ReplyDeleteHope everything gets sorted with Mr. Taylor. I'd really like to know what was going on in his head.
Alura - Thanks. We should be hearing from Mr. Taylor real soon.
DeleteI agree, Vanessa! If it wasn't for some of the competition shows like SYTYCD, I wouldn't be watching t.v. spots at all.
ReplyDeleteI'm loving this wedding/reception...so much going on between Rod & Tony's father and Ian with his Olivia, Raven dilemma! Can't wait to the next installment...
I like the conversation between Cassandra and Christina about room service. Especially when Cassandra tells Christina that room service could be had on Christina's money. And the bit about Mom's lack of a dating life. (Bet that will change soon in Morristown ;-D)
ReplyDeleteThe gossipy element was fun. Isn't it funny how people will want to know what's up when things look odd?
Oh and the hotel background ... spot on again. The gold couch and the long beige curtains - oops, drapes. More formal, "drapes", lol.
D7ana - I am out of men over her. These women will have to start doubling up soon. LOL! Max is on is way. I think I will make him a full grown man instead of a teenager. He is much too handsome to waste on a youngun, but we shall see. I think I would have been curious, too. So out of character for Rod. Especially those who have gotten to know him over the past year. Inquiring minds want to know.
DeleteD7ana - That should say "over here".
DeleteVanessa, I am sooo looking forward to Max joining the Morristown crew. Can't wait to see him and any of other boy band guys. Sigh. Will it be raining men in Morristown, too? To balance out the ladies ;-D
DeleteLove the hotel two-room suite! Max is coming to Morristown! Whoo hoo! I can't wait to see who you hook him up with. Love Sunni's dress!
ReplyDeleteGeorgia Girl - Thanks. Too bad Max wasn't here for the wedding. We could have had a little more drama. He may have to be one of those single men in town. He doesn't want to settle down too soon.
DeleteOmg daughter girl is funny especially for room service. What show are the girls watching.
ReplyDeleteFrom elijah
DeleteElijah - Christina has been watching too many movies, apparently.
DeleteVanessa this is a nice looking hotel suite and I enjoyed all of the conversations. That little girl that the lady in the chair (Lisa or Vanessa?) is holding looks pretty hungry. :)
ReplyDeleteRoxanne - Thanks! LOL about the hungry baby. That is Alicia, Vanessa's (me) daughter. I think she is just sleepy and in that state she is reverting back to something she remembers from her infant days.
DeleteHello from Spain: I like the suitcase. Is it Mattel? I like the gold watch from the nightstand. You have lots of very nice furniture. You did a great job with this room. I love the rug. The chair is wonderful. Cristina is very pretty. The gorgeous golden chairs. Mike has a yellow bag that I like. I already see that Cassandra and Christina have a lot of work with many children. A stressful job ... Keep in touch.
ReplyDeleteMarta - The plaid suitcase is from Mattel. If is from the BMC collection, I think. The clock is a real working clock bought from a thrift store long time ago. The rug is a piece of scrapbook paper. The golden chairs used to be pink Barbie dining room chairs from one of the older sets. Cassandra is used to dealing with kids, so she is not so stressed. Christina is just happy to be hanging out in a nice hotel.
DeleteThe hotel room looks really comfy, and I love the furniture you used. Luckily, the children will be sleepy very soon and both Cassandra and Christina will be able to relax a little...
ReplyDeleteRossetti - I wouldn't mind spending the night in a nice hotel suite. I could use the break. I would probably miss Morristown though.
DeleteThere was so much gossip going on! This is the kind of situation where if that were my mom she would say, "Now run downstairs, get the scoop and then come back up here and tell me what happened... and snatch me some biscuits while you down there!!!"
ReplyDeleteMuff - ROFDL! (D = dying) My mom would have done one better. She would have said "Stay here. Keep an eye on the kids. I'll be right back!"
DeleteLOL! Cute.
DeleteWHERE DI DYOU GET THESE LITTLE KID DOLLS?!!!!???!!!!????!!!????!!! I WANT THEM!!!!!!!!!
ReplyDeleteSomeodd Person - Thanks for visiting the blog. Most of those kids are Kelly sized dolls from Mattel. It's hard to find that size in the regular stores unless they are in a playset, but they are available on ebay quite often.
