Tina Made the Chicken and Waffles

I asked Tina to make the next dish that will be available.  Unfortunately, she messed up the syrup.  She has since figured out her problem.  She told me they would be ready tomorrow.  I have a full day planned, so I told her Sunday would be fine.  So this is a preview of what's coming.

Chicken and Waffles is popular here in the South.  Gladys Knights has two Chicken and Waffle restaurants here in Atlanta.  I've been about 3 times since I've lived here.

There will be one waffle with butter and syrup and two fried chicken wings.

The waffle will be secured to the plate, but the wings will be loose for maximum play.  One side of the chicken will be flat.  Chose to do this to make the plate more affordable.

So your dolls will be able to share their chicken.  But why would they?  Tina made her granddaughter a square waffle with some scrambled eggs.   I told her it wasn't store worthy.

When I started making the waffles this morning, I had no idea how I was going to do it.  I thought I would use Danielle's waffle maker.  I tried that, but it only makes square waffles and not very well.  Most chicken and waffle plates have round waffles.  So I ended up just making a circle and putting all the holes in by hand.   I was so happy.  Then my brain came up with all kinds of ideas.  I had a hard time keeping up.

Then I ended up with this waffle.  Again all holes are individually placed.  This will be hitting the store as soon as the strawberries are ready.

Shantavia wanted me to get a shot of her in her little tennis outfit.  I really wanted to get her shoes.  I rarely get to put the ladies in tennis shoes.  Her tennis racquet is from a Dora outfit set.  By the way  there are two new "I Can Be" dolls.  A tennis player and a track runner.

Halle Does June Cleaver

A good model can transform into any character.  Halle is doing her June Cleaver impression today as she models the new traditional sofa.  I am on a mission to get my Etsy store restocked.  I'm making great progress.

I just love those little shoes.

  • Skydive with a certified instructor
  • Free-fall at up to 120 mph
  • Jump from between 10,000-14,000 ft.
  • Surprising gift for grads

Why did I just have a heart attack? Because the Skydiving that is on my list just showed up in my email for 50% off.  I literally started jumping up and down.  The thought of jumping from a plane is totally exhilarating.  Why am I sharing this with you?  Because my blog readers are like family and you were the first people I thought to share this with.  Now I have to find the $134 (isn't that cheap?) within 4 days before the offer expires.  Wish me luck!

There's a doll post coming in a couple of hours.

Rod Confronts Melanie (.Video)

I've been ticked with Melanie the past day or so.  Because of her antics, I had to do an unplanned video.  Doesn't she know I have a lot to do with this wedding coming up?  Anyway, this is the best I can do under the circumstances.  Her office is a tad bit incomplete.  I would have had her shelf a little more stocked had I known this was coming.

A Few Wedding Details and A Pie

Chances are next week when the wedding festivities begin things will be quite hectic.  Aren't they always when it comes to weddings?  So I wanted to take the time to introduce the Pastor and a few of the guests.  There is supposed to be a surprise quest in attendance as well.

Meet Pastor Carmelia Johnson.  She will be officiating the ceremony.  This doll looks just like my best friend's mother. Who in real life is Ciana's grandmother.

Rod is retired military, but he still puts together training programs for the Armed Forces and trains all branches on these special programs.  These are three of his current students who wanted to be in attendance.

Remember Debbie, our town fashion designer?  Turns out she is married with 2 children.  Poor thing.  Her daughter Kathryn, just turned 12 and her son Patrick is 16.

I finally relisted sweet potato pie in my Etsy store.  I made a healthy version for myself last week.  That pie was sooo good, I figured it was time to make more for the dolls.

Sunday Dinner is Ready!

I woke up in the middle of the night and I was starved.  Too late or too early to eat, so I decided to make the dolls some food.  I finally tackled the fried chicken I've been meaning to make.  Each meal comes with a piece of loose cornbread and a choice of a wing or a drumstick.  My plan is to create some loose pieces of fried chicken in the not too distant future.  Dinner is now available in my Etsy store.

Fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans...

and a nice piece of cornbread.

Do you prefer a wing or a drumstick?  I love both, but I like the wing a smidgen more.

Cassandra arrives home after a long first day at the daycare, where her friend has dinner ready.
"So how were the kiddies?" (friend)
"A handful to say the least.  I can't wait to get in the tub and soak.  I think I need to hire some more help. What about you?  Any luck scoping out a new place for The Pet Haven?"  (Cassandra)

"I decided I better find a Realtor to help. " (friend)
"If the pet thing doesn't work out, you can always open up a restaurant.  You are an awesome cook.  Thanks again for cooking for me." (Cassandra)
"No problem.  It's the least I can do since you are letting me bunk her for a little bit." (friend)

Barbie Basic 3.0 has been rebodied on an old So In Style Grace body.  I left her in the SIS outfit so you could see which doll it was.  The coloring is pretty close.  Of course, I am not fond of this body, so she will get an upgrade in the future.

This post is dedicated to Loretta, of At Home with Loretta.  She cooks quite a bit and usually posts her Sunday dinners.  Sorry no dessert this time around, Loretta,

Trouble in Paradise (New Video)

Wow, I got this video done in record time.  On top of that, I uploaded it from my former real estate office and it took all of 2 minutes to download versus the normal 2 hours.  Needless to say, I was more than elated.  I can now spend the rest of the weekend catching up.  Hope you enjoy!

Kenya's Floral Surprise

Yesterday I received two packages in the mail.  The first one I opened was my new Fashion Royalty outfit from Gabi55mates.  She just recently opened up her new Etsy shop, and an outfit I had been eyeing for months showed up.  I couldn't resist.  So I thought I would be sharing that with you today.  Don't worry, you will see it before the weekend ends.

Package number two just blew me away.  First of all, it was totally unexpected.  Kenya Johnson is a blogging buddy.  She is not a doll person.  She is a self published writer of The Christopher Chronicles, with a six year old, I mean seven year old son, Christopher.  Her blog, Here's The Thing, primarily talks about her life with her son.  The two of them keep me in stitches.   Well Kenya started following my stories.  She fell in love with Darius, which is only fitting because she reminds me of Halle Berry.  She was heart broken when Halle and Darius' relationship ended.   So last week she sends me the following email.

I have a "little" something for you. You can give it to anybody except "what's her face". I'm not sure if it's Halle's style. So anyway I need your address and that's all I'm sayin'

In case you are wondering, "what's her face" is Nikki.  LOL!  Nikki is making all kinds of enemies out there.    Of course I was thinking it's going to be an outfit.

But no, it was this gorgeous 1/6 scale handmade floral arrangement!!!  The beautiful vase is one she found while she and her husband were stationed in Japan.

Isn't it beautiful?! She even had it smelling really nice.

I have been looking for and wanting floral arrangements for quite some time now, but I have never found what I was looking for.  This is sooo me!

Here you can see how perfect it is for the fashion dolls.  I think the first place we will see this arrangement is in the lobby of the church at the wedding.

Yes, I did ask Kenya if she would consider making more to sell.  She seemed to be open to the idea.  I'll keep working on her.  I think if I can find her a source for more vases we will be in business.  I only wish she had revealed this talent a couple of months ago, I would have definitely hired her to do all the table centerpieces at the reception.  Maybe there's still time.  Hmmmm.

Thank you Kenya!  Love ya!

Sharing a Commissioned Sofa

This is one of my latest commissioned sectionals.  It's almost done.  I still have to add the manly throw pillows.  I liked this one so much I was willing to buy it back from it's new owner.  I am almost certain that I will not be making it again.  Not even for my dolls.  Working with this fabric proved to be more challenging than I originally thought.  I had to tweak the design and develop new methods in order to get the vinyl to cooperate.

As you can see, this is a no frills photo session.

Halle isn't modeling this sofa.  She and Diego both have the day off.  Diego insisted I lug the sectional to his house to see what it would look like.  I told him it really didn't matter what it looked like.  He wasn't getting one.

The Daycare is in Full Swing!

This weekend I will be doing a video of the daycare.  I wanted to give you a few preview shots.

I don't think Cassandra was prepared for all the kids that showed up.  On paper it doesn't look like a lot of kids.  It's a different story once they all get together.  She still has some wall hangings to put up, but her shipment from the education store was delayed by a week.

Most of the kids are already there.  Racquel is dropping off Shay.

Because the group is so big, they are sort of split into groups.  Some will have story time and some will have play time.

Alicia and Ciana are playing house together.

Samantha has everything under control in the infant room.

This room will get more decorations, too, as soon as the shipment arrives.

Can you imagine the conversation taking place here?
