Tina Made the Chicken and Waffles

I asked Tina to make the next dish that will be available.  Unfortunately, she messed up the syrup.  She has since figured out her problem.  She told me they would be ready tomorrow.  I have a full day planned, so I told her Sunday would be fine.  So this is a preview of what's coming.

Chicken and Waffles is popular here in the South.  Gladys Knights has two Chicken and Waffle restaurants here in Atlanta.  I've been about 3 times since I've lived here.

There will be one waffle with butter and syrup and two fried chicken wings.

The waffle will be secured to the plate, but the wings will be loose for maximum play.  One side of the chicken will be flat.  Chose to do this to make the plate more affordable.

So your dolls will be able to share their chicken.  But why would they?  Tina made her granddaughter a square waffle with some scrambled eggs.   I told her it wasn't store worthy.

When I started making the waffles this morning, I had no idea how I was going to do it.  I thought I would use Danielle's waffle maker.  I tried that, but it only makes square waffles and not very well.  Most chicken and waffle plates have round waffles.  So I ended up just making a circle and putting all the holes in by hand.   I was so happy.  Then my brain came up with all kinds of ideas.  I had a hard time keeping up.

Then I ended up with this waffle.  Again all holes are individually placed.  This will be hitting the store as soon as the strawberries are ready.

Shantavia wanted me to get a shot of her in her little tennis outfit.  I really wanted to get her shoes.  I rarely get to put the ladies in tennis shoes.  Her tennis racquet is from a Dora outfit set.  By the way  there are two new "I Can Be" dolls.  A tennis player and a track runner.

    1. FRANNIE! So nice to see you. We've missed you here in Morristown. I would love to have waffles for breakfast. If only I had a big waffle iron. Sadly you can't just put the holes in in real life. You missed at least 2 videos. Hopefully you can catch up before the wedding.

    1. Hi William. Nice to see you again, too. It is crazy how the creative process is. I also made cheesecake in the middle of all of this.

  4. LOL, "wasn't store worthy." You are a harsh taskmaster. I would totally eat a square waffle.

    1. Hey Muff - It wasn't because it was square. It was the eggs and the waffle didn't fit on the plate so well. The square waffle was fine. I will be adding those to the store too in the future.

  6. You, or should I say Tina, did a great job making the waffles. A waffle maker couldn't have created better-looking ones!

    1. dbg - Tina did her thing. I figured I would get help from some of my ladies to cut down on some of my work. LOL! I had made a little waffle tool months ago, but never made the waffles. I have seen that tool every day since I made it because I left it out in full view. Would you believe I couldn't find it yesterday? Murphy's Law. That's why I had to improvise, but it turned out great.

  8. That waffle is VERY pretty. Definitely unique. I have yet to try chicken and waffles with all the opportunities that I've had. I need to try it at least one. Fried chicken isn't really my favorite thing and I make some slammin' waffles so I never order them out.

    1. Kenya - Thanks. One of the major restaurants serves a waffle like the last one. I can't remember. Maybe IHop. I need to find out. I haven't had fried chicken in a while, but 2 of the 3 times I went to Gladys' restaurant I had the Chicken and Waffles. You can't go to a restaurant named Chicken and Waffles and not have the Chicken and Waffles.

  9. Hello from Spain: I saw in stores in my city the new Barbies 'I can be'. Barbies are not articulated. Congratulations on your plate of cookies. I also like the room you created with the wardrobe of the Bratz. I'm going to copy that idea. I love the clothes Shelly. Keep in touch

    1. Marta - The track doll looked articulated on-line. How disappointing. I didn't plan to get either one because even if they were articulated, they wouldn't have been better than the Fashionista body. I made the SIS kid's clothes. I need to make more. I'll see you soon.

  11. Oh, waffles with hot, melting butter and warmed strawberries! Hot chocolate drink on the side. Sounds so yummy. Make those chicken wings, chicken tenders and I'll have that for breakfast ;-D

    I'm not picky, lol.

    1. D7ana - Please stop! You are making me hungry! Ever since I learned how to make fresh strawberry sauce for my pancakes, the thought of warmed strawberries sends me over the edge. I've never seen chicken tenders with waffles, but I'm game.

    2. Me? Moi? Who's created perfect waffles for our playscale pals? LOL

And you know how to make fresh strawberry sauce ... wah! I'll have to see about getting that in tomorrow. Can't do anything about it tonight. Sigh.

When I win the lottery (which will be a miracle since I am too cheap to buy a ticket), I'm gonna have a night crew who will fix me yummy meals whenever I want them. Or maybe just a pantry chock full of incredible edibles.

    1. Dawn - Hello! Tina has fallen down on her job. She was supposed to make some for the Etsy store, but she got caught up with the wedding... and Harrison, her new beau. I must get her back on task.
