Sunday Dinner is Ready!

I woke up in the middle of the night and I was starved.  Too late or too early to eat, so I decided to make the dolls some food.  I finally tackled the fried chicken I've been meaning to make.  Each meal comes with a piece of loose cornbread and a choice of a wing or a drumstick.  My plan is to create some loose pieces of fried chicken in the not too distant future.  Dinner is now available in my Etsy store.

Fried chicken, mashed potatoes with gravy, green beans...

and a nice piece of cornbread.

Do you prefer a wing or a drumstick?  I love both, but I like the wing a smidgen more.

Cassandra arrives home after a long first day at the daycare, where her friend has dinner ready.
"So how were the kiddies?" (friend)
"A handful to say the least.  I can't wait to get in the tub and soak.  I think I need to hire some more help. What about you?  Any luck scoping out a new place for The Pet Haven?"  (Cassandra)

"I decided I better find a Realtor to help. " (friend)
"If the pet thing doesn't work out, you can always open up a restaurant.  You are an awesome cook.  Thanks again for cooking for me." (Cassandra)
"No problem.  It's the least I can do since you are letting me bunk her for a little bit." (friend)

Barbie Basic 3.0 has been rebodied on an old So In Style Grace body.  I left her in the SIS outfit so you could see which doll it was.  The coloring is pretty close.  Of course, I am not fond of this body, so she will get an upgrade in the future.

This post is dedicated to Loretta, of At Home with Loretta.  She cooks quite a bit and usually posts her Sunday dinners.  Sorry no dessert this time around, Loretta,

  3. Hello from Spain: what a pity you do not live in my country because I would buy some of your dishes. They seem so real that I even get hungry. The blue kitchen I love this post. I have not. The white table yes I have. The two I like Barbies. The conversation is very real. Keep in touch

    1. Marta - Thanks! I ship all over the world and food is cheap to ship, so don't let that stop you. All of my listings are set up for international shipping. I was hungry when I started and I'm still hungry, but at least the dolls are taken care of. Have a wonderful day!

  4. That food looks GOOD!!!!! Im curious why dont u like the body u are using. Im just getting into the body swap thing from watching your videos and reading your post. What body's do you prefer to use. I have only beheaded liv daniella for SIS Marissa so far. I would like to behead all my barbie basics for articulate bodies I will then use them to set up a fashion show diorama. My Integrity Toys Tariq will be the photographer. HOPE IM NOT ASKING FOR TOO MUCH INFO.
I just luv what ur doing and want to get the full experience of playing with my dolls.

    1. mustiwait - Thanks! Ask away. I don't mind. With the articulated So In Style bodies, they did something funky with the forearm/hand placement. So it's not possible to get those hands in a realistic position. If I had time, I would probably chop the hands off and fix it so the wrists were articulated.

  5. The food does look appetizing. I don't normally like wings -- not enough meat, I guess. I prefer legs, thighs, breast. Still looks yummy; my stomach is growling. Great job!

What about rolls? I love dinner rolls with fried chicken. How about a jalapeno pepper? LOL!

    1. DBG - Thanks. My mom and I used to fight over the wings. Neither one of us like the breast. Dinner rolls are on the list, so they will be coming up soon. No jalapeno peppers.

  6. Sunday dinner looks very realistic. I tried making some salt dough chicken wings but they didn't come out very well -- probably because I'm a vegetarian and don't look closely at that kind of food. :-)

    1. limbe dolls - Thanks. I imagine it's hard as a vegetarian creating meat dishes. I have eaten 2 pieces of fried chicken in the last 3 yrs. After creating this meal, I may have to have another piece soon.
