Cruise Ship Cabin and A Tux

Halle and Diego's cabin is ready, but Diego is MIA!  Yep seems like I have misplaced him.  Not all of him, just his head.  Aaaarggghh!  I was really looking forward to doing this story.  I'm hoping his head will show up soon.  The last I saw it was when I made him that sweater.  That was over two weeks ago.  I just hope those little puppies didn't get a hold to him.  I really don't think they did.  I searched their hiding place, and didn't see him.   Please pray for his safe return, otherwise, Halle will be looking for a new man on this cruise. In the meantime you can see the cabin they will be staying in on the ship.

Yesterday while at Walmart, I found these new tuxedos for $5.97.  I rather like them, so I bought two.

Valentine's Plans (Photo Story)

Happy Valentine's Day!  Danielle and I can hardly believe it's already here.  Danielle has planned a Valentine Day dance at the community center for Saturday night.

Danielle is going over her list for the day.  She's waiting for Leslie, who is going to help her get everything ready for tomorrow night.

The boys are watching tv.

Leslie arrives with Joseph in tow.  She rings the bell.  Inside she can hear Danielle tell Julian to answer the door.

"And don't forget to ask who it is?"  (Danielle)

"Who is it?"  (Julian)
"Auntie Leslie."  (Leslue)

Julian opens the door, says hello, and runs back to his tv show.
"Hey woman.  I thought you'd be ready to go."  (Leslie)
"I'll be ready soon.  Want some coffee?"  (Danielle)
"No.  I just had a cup."  (Leslie)

Leslie takes a seat at the table.
"Where's Ciana?"  (Danielle)
"Her dad took her out to breakfast for her Valentine Day treat."  (Leslie)
"How sweet.  What are the two of you doing for Valentine's Day?"  (Danielle)

"Nothing special.  I have to admit we are like an old married couple when it comes to things like Valentine's Day."  (Leslie)
"Well it's a good thing we're having this dance.  Maybe that will spice things up a bit for you two."  (Danielle)
"Speaking of spicy, what's up with the ponytails?  That's a new look for you."  (Leslie)

Danielle chuckles.
"Well they were part of my morning Valentine gift to Rod.  We did a little role playing.  I figured I would keep the ponytails, just as a reminder."  (Danielle)

"Well, well, well.  And what role did you play?"  (Leslie)
"Now, now, what happens in the boudoir of Rod and Danielle, stays in the boudoir of Rod and Danielle."  (Danielle)
"Well I'm impressed.  I may have to up my game."  (Leslie)
"Well maybe after tomorrow's dance, you can surprise David.  We better get going."  (Danielle)

"Are you driving, or am I?"  (Leslie)
"I'll drive. (pause)  Boys, turn the tv off.  It's time to go."  (Danielle)

Of course the boys don't budge and Danielle goes to get them ready.
"MOM!  I was watching SpongeBob."  (Julian)
"Are you raising your voice?  It's time to go.  Get your jacket on."  (Danielle)

Danielle puts Jacob's sneakers on.
"Oh, did I tell you my younger cousin is moving to town in a few weeks.  I was thinking maybe I could introduce her to David's sister, Olivia.  I think they are about the same age."  (Danielle)

"Well let me know when she arrives.  I'll bring Olivia by so they can meet." (Leslie)
"I think she said she'll be her the last week of February."  (Danielle)
"That is the cutest little outfit.  Where did you buy that?"  (Leslie)

"This was a Christmas gift from my mom.  I'm pretty sure she bought it in Florida.  She got one for both boys.  Kind of ironic because we picked out a denim outfit as one of her gifts, too."  (Danielle)

Danielle and the boys finish putting their coats on.
"Why are you just sitting there staring at me?  It's time to go."  (Danielle)

"I just can't believe you are the same Danielle I met a few years ago.  That Danielle was so prim and proper.  Here you are in jeans, a green ski vest with a plaid lining, and sporting ponytails.  Rod has really rubbed off on you."  (Leslie)

"Ha ha.  Well aren't you the funny one today. Let's go.  We have a lot to do."  (Danielle)

Side note:  These football pants were part of a scrapbook pack I bought quite a few years ago.  Today I decided to try them on Julian.  Perfect fit.  Now I need to find him a little jersey with shoulder pads.

Black Denim

I get to cross another thing off the list!  Denim jeans for the kids.  I found a really small piece of black denim at a closeout sale several years ago.  I knew I wanted to make jeans for the kids.  Well consider it done.

Here Jacob is showing off his black jeans and Ciana is sporting her new black denim dress.

I took it a step further and made Jacob a matching jacket.  I may add some mock buttons.

Get it Jacob!

One more, because he's so cute and gangsta.

Yes, Julian got some jeans, too.  I actually made his first, and I didn't do the crotch quite right.  All the other jeans are done correctly.

I am still working on Julian's jacket.  It needs some work.  I may add pockets and buttons.  I may just make another one and shorten it.  He's just so skinny.

Tyler got a pair of black jeans, too.  He's not getting a jacket.

Weather Update:  We are experiencing a really bad ice storm.  I am praying that we don't lose power, but if you don't hear from me for a couple of days, you will now know why.  Stay safe and be warm!!!

Our Little Cameron

Well, I ventured to the doll room yesterday.  Good thing!  There was a small little puddle of water in my basement.  I traced it to the start of a water heater malfunction.  Thank goodness I caught it in time.  That could have been disastrous.  Morristown could have been flooded out.  The repair person is due here tomorrow morning.  The little bit of energy I had to try to do a story, was instantly gone.  So I decided to get a few more things done on my infamous list.  I've been wanting to make some infant clothes for a long time now.  Needless to say, sewing clothes this small is a challenge.  I got about 3 onesies and a couple of bibs done.  Most of the time was spent trying to get the sizing correct.  Now I just need to make about 20 more of each, so I never have to do it again.  LOL.

I made Emerald a hoodie.  The pattern called for velcro, but at the last minute I decided to put a zipper in it.  Granted the zipper is a little big, but it's still better than velcro.

Emerald is considering applying for the part time babysitting job for Cameron.

Sindy's Here!

I love Sindy furniture, but until now, I haven't owned any.  Thanks to that darn D7ana (love you), and her recent blog post about the Sindy double oven, I have been itching to get my hands on some Sindy kitchen pieces.  You can see a detailed description on her blog of the wall oven.

Here is the four piece set I just purchased on ebay.

The sink is cute with a little rubber stopper.

The knobs for the cooktop range really move.

The double oven is my favorite piece.

I am looking forward to creating a kitchen with these wonderful pieces.

My flu is just about gone, but I'm still having some challenges which have kept me out of the doll room.  In the meantime, I'm sewing a few clothing pieces for the Mixis ladies.  I will catch up on blog reading within the next three days.  Have a great weekend!

Down, But Not Out

FYI, I am sick.  This is day 7 of me pretty much being in the bed all day.  I sort of feel like Kendra when she was pregnant.  I'm not seriously ill.  Initially I had a couple muscle strains in my chest, then I was exposed to someone with the flu, and that was all she wrote.  I hear it's a 10 day thing.  I'm hoping to be back to 100% by the end of this week.  On day 4, I decided to tackle a few projects on my to do list.  I put my sewing machine in the bed, and made a few comforters and curtain sets for future "Day in the Life" stories.  I also hand-sewed a couple of sock sweaters, and started a dress for Emerald.  Last but not least, I started on the fish theme bathroom for Julian and Jacob.

Diego is going to need a sweater for the cool nights on the cruise ship.

This is four different comforters for future bedrooms

One panel of curtains.  I made a few different sets.

This is my first attempt at making a dress for the Mixis.  It is a sample to help me get an idea of fitting.  This one was hand-sewn.  I need to make a few adjustments, and remake it with a sewing machine. Add a cute little belt, and some jewelry, and she will be ready for her date with Guiren.

This will be in Julian and Jacob's bathroom.  When I bought this fabric a couple of years ago, I immediately thought of a bathroom for the boys.  Nice to finally work on this project.  The green yarn was already near my bed, so I'm using it temporarily. I will change the yarn out for something metal when I can.

So it feels good to get a few projects done that would probably still be on the "to do" list if I hadn't gotten sick.  There's always a bright spot in the midst of turbulence.  But now..... I'm ready for this to be OVER!

Cruise Ships and a Sofa

Halle and Diego's plane has landed in Miami.  They are now headed to the port where the cruise ship is parked.  I thought I would show the two cruise ships I will be using.

First up is the Barbie Cruise ship.  This was a thrift store find about 10 years ago.  I left the price on it.  It was $4.24.

This is the inside.  It was missing a few pieces.

The right side can be changed into three different area.  Here it is set up as a buffet.  I will fill it with great dishes.

It can also convert to a sleeping area.  Halle and Diego will not be sleeping here.

And thirdly it can be a dance floor.

On the left side there are changing pictures that can alter the scenery.

The original set comes with a very, very small pool and a lounge chair and table.  I'm going to add a much larger pool.  I'm trying out the swing set because the newest Barbie Cruise Ship comes with a swing set.

Here it is with a lounger and table.  All the entertaining and eating will take place in this area of the cruise ship.

Next, up is the Barbie Friendship Cruise ship.  I bought this from ebay about 6 months ago.  I plan to use this as Halle and Diego's private cabin.

I will fix up their bedroom to be a little more romantic.

They will also be able to lounge on their private deck.

Last up is a custom sofa I just finished.  It's been awhile since I've made a sofa.  It felt good to do it again.
