Earlier That Day..... (Photostory)

 Earlier Saturday, we find ourselves at Chris and Kara's place.  Kara is just home from the salon and Chris is in the midst of preparing dinner before he heads off to band rehearsal with Jay Chou.
(Kara said forgive her artwork.  She had nicer framed art for the wall, but couldn't find the picture hanging set to hang them.  In other words, all the framed art I put on the wall fell almost as soon as I put it up.  I'll have to work on that next time.)

"Hello, I'm home." 

"Hi, mommy."  

"Hi honey."  (Chris calls out to Kara from the kitchen)

"Hello.  Smells good in there."  (Kara)

"So, how was your day?"  (Kara)

"Gooood." (Jolisa)

"Dinner's almost ready."  (Chris)

"Okay.  Guess who I ran into today?  Your buddy, Mark.  He told me to tell you hi."  (Kara)

"Man, I haven't seen him in awhile.  I should probably give him a call."  (Chris)

"Do you need help with dinner?"  (Kara)

"No, but you can come keep me company while the noodles cook."  (Chris)

"So when do you have to leave for rehearsal?"  (Kara)

"I need to be there at 6:00."  (Chris)

"Well it's 5:00 now.  Are you going to have time for dinner?"  (Kara)

"Yes.  As long as I'm walking out of here by 5:40, I'll be okay." (Chris)

"Jolisa.  Go wash your hands.  It's time for dinner."  (Kara)

Jolisa washes her hands and is seated for dinner.

"Not too much for me."  (Kara)

"Mommy, I need a spoon."  (Jolisa)

"Okay.  One second."  (Kara)

Chris and Kara finally sit down to the table.  Chris has about 15 minutes before he has to leave.

After dinner, Kara and Jolisa settle in to watch a little TV.  Sid, The Science Kid is on.  Kara is checking her email, and planning out her next singing gig.

**DING DONG**

"Now who can that be?" (Kara)

It's Sasha, one of Kara's good friends, who lives in the subdivision.

"Hey girl, come on in.  Look at you.  I love the new do."  (Kara)

"I hope you don't mind me stopping by without calling.  I just got back from the salon, and saw your car was here, as I was headed home."  (Sasha)

"I don't mind at all.  So you finally got the braids.  They did a really nice job.  Which salon is it again?"  (Kara)

"Limbe Hair Studio on Henry Street."  (Sasha)

"Hello Miss Jolisa.  Where's my hug?"  (Sasha)

"Jolisa, she didn't say you could touch her hair."  (Kara)

"Oh it's okay."  (Sasha)

"So whatcha' think Jolisa?  You like it?"  (Sasha)

"It's pretty."  (Jolisa)

"Well, I guess I better head on home.  I've been at the salon all day.  I think I'm going to try to make the early church service tomorrow."  (Sasha)

"Well I'm glad you stopped by.  Chris and I need to come visit your church again soon."  (Kara)

"You know you are always welcome."  (Sasha)

Sasha leaves and Kara and Jolisa watch a few more PBS shows before Jolisa has to take her bath.  By 8:30pm, Jolisa is settled in her bed for the night.  She complains that Daddy is not there to kiss her goodnight.  Kara assures her that when Chris gets home, she will make sure he comes to kiss her goodnight. A Grueling Band Rehearsal

Jay Chou has just signed a deal that puts him in the States for an extended period of time.  He's pretty excited about it.  He's been going back and forth for over a year now.  This way he will get more time with his lady, Kyori.  He had to contract out some new band members.  The drummer, Max, and the guitarist, Chris, have both signed contracts.  He is still looking for a permanent keyboardist.  It's Saturday night and rehearsal has been unusually long.

Chris, Kara's husband, jumped at the chance to play with Jay Chou.  Kara is a little concerned that it will interfere with their performances.

JB is just standing in for the night.  He's a great keyboardist, but his mom will not sign off for him to be a full time band member.  After all, he is still in high school.

"How did it sound that time?"  Jay Chou asks his music producer, who is operating the sound boards.

"Well, I think that's good for now.  We will work on the ending next time."  (Jay to producer) 

"Jay, how about we change the ending a liitle.  Maybe take it down an octave to something like this."  Chris plays a few bars on his guitar.

"I like that.  We'll work on it Tuesday.  It's getting pretty late."  (Jay) 

"Alright guys.  Thanks for coming.  We'll meet here again Tuesday night, same time."  (Jay)

Jay starts talking to Chris.  Off in the distance, Kyori, his girlfriend has made her way on stage.

She waits for a bit, then makes her way over, just as Chris is leaving. 

"Hey sweetheart. Have you been waiting long?"  (Jay)

"No. I've learned that when you tell me a time, it's going to be at least an hour later than you tell me." (Kyori)

"Am I that predicatable?"  (Jay)

"Predictable and cute."  (Kyori) 

Max's girlfriend, Carmen was also waiting. 

"Honey, you look tired."  (Carmen)
"I am tired.  Do you mind if we just grab a quick bite and go relax?"  (Max)

"Of course not.  How about the IHOP down the street?"  (Carmen)

"So can we go now?"  (Kyori)

"Give me five minutes to talk to my producer and then I'm set."  (Jay)

"Ok, five minutes and then I am dragging you out of here."  (Kyori)

Jay is a work-a-holic and is prone to losing track of time.

 A closer look at some of the Bieber accessories:

This is the guitar stand.  The guitar itself has a strap so the dolls can stand and hold the guitar.

This is a working foot pedal.  It isn't attached to the drum.  It can be placed wherever you like.  Isn't it cute?

This is the Justin Bieber chair.  It closes up top, but I was being lazy.

Here it is with a seated doll.  There is one more prop that I didn't show, which is a headset.  The microphone shown up top is a really nice one.  The articulation on the Bieber doll is also very nice.  Just a reminder, I found this set at Big Lots for $15 a few days ago.

This is an awesome thrift store find my mother gave to me today.  They are WORKING multicolor strobe lights.  Perfect for a dance club.  I may have to put my mom on the payroll.  She is getting pretty good at finding wonderful dolly props.
