Randolph's Family Connection

Randolph and Melanie are almost to the restaurant.  I thought we'd take a look to see who's here already.

Lauren and her husband are enjoying a quiet night out together.

"I should probably give Faith and Angelica a call.  They will be shocked to see we're not home."  (Lauren)

"Didn't you leave the girls a note?  Why do you need to call, too?  They are not little girls.  You need to stop babying them."  (Husband)
"Oh honey.  That is just what I do.  I worry about them all the time."  (Lauren)
"You worry, and I get the grey hair.  There's something wrong with that picture."  (Husband)

Maurice and Saba are here with their 13 yr old twin daughters.  The parents take every opportunity they can to communicate with the girls.  Thirteen is a pivotal age.  Sabrina, the chatty twin, is discussing an incident she had on the school bus.

After about ten minutes of Sabrina being overly dramatic in her story telling, Saba turns to Samia, "So how did you make out on your math test?"
"The teacher hasn't graded them yet. "  (Samia)
"Well how do you think you did?"  (Saba)
"I think I did okay.  It was easier than I expected."  (Samia)

Before Randolph and Melanie arrive, I thought I would take a minute and introduce his daughter, Gabrielle, from his previous marriage.

Gabrielle is 14 and lives in town with her mom.  She stays with her dad every other weekend.  It will be interesting to see how Melanie deals with Randolph's daughter.  Teen daughters can be very difficult, especially when they are close to their dads.

I also want to introduce Sandra's husband.  This is a Ken Griffey Jr. sports figure, but he reminds me of Deion Sanders, so I'm naming  him Deion.

  3. I think this will be a lesson learned for Melanie....especially if she wants the man. Lol! This will be a great twist. Who knows maybe she will see Danielle and the boys in a different light.

    1. Georgia Girl - Yes that perfect man she is searching for may come with imperfect kids. I'm sure, in her mind, her perfect man didn't have kids. Surprise, surprise.

    1. billa's dolls - Isn't he handsome! He is a PowerTeam Worldpeacekeeper action figure. Melanie is difficult for regular people to deal with. Add a teenage daughter who is protective over her dad, to the picture and who knows what's in store.

  5. Where did you get Lauren husband's shirt?

I see the Deion Sanders resemblance in the Ken Griffey, Jr. figure, too.

I agree with others who have commented, Ms Melanie might get a dose of her own medicine now that she is dating someone with a teenage daughter. I am looking forward to seeing how this plays out.

    1. DBG - That shirt is from the ebay seller jammin. I bought it over a year ago. The collars are a little off, just so you know. Ms. Leo introduced us to this store last year. Here is a link to her store. http://www.ebay.com/sch/jamminnan/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_ipg=&_from=

It will be most interesting to see how Melanie deals with a teenage daughter. You know Melanie is not know for her patience.

  6. I agree with the other folks here. This will be an interesting lesson for Melanie since she doesn't share well. The sports figure really does look like Deion Sanders. :-)

    1. Smaller Places - Thanks for visiting my blog. I enjoyed visiting yours, too. Melanie is the troubled ex-wife of Rod, who is now married to Danielle who had two young boys before she married Rod. Melanie has not dealt well with Rod's new family, even though she was the one who wanted the divorce.

    1. Brini - Thanks. So the question is....will Melanie be a better person to Randolph's daughter? Will she pretend to like his daughter just to be close with him? Will she blow it and show her real self and run Randolph away? Goodness only knows.

I like Lauren's hubby's comment that she worries, but he gets the gray hair.

Congrats on your male sports figure. He resembles a Power Team guy, too.
