It's about 6am and Ciana is still sleeping soundly. That will change soon because this is about the time Leslie gets the kids up and ready to start their day. She always prays for a drama-free morning. It makes getting to work on time, much more feasible.
(That dresser is the one from the nursery set. Eventually, I will paint the top.)
Leslie enters Ciana's room and stares at her for a while. She enjoys seeing her sleeping so peacefully.
She bends down to pick up Ciana's sleeping buddy, Cuddles.
"Ciana? (pause) Good morning sweetie. It's time to get up." (Leslie)
Ciana lifts herself up and stretches a little bit.
"Are you ready to have a wonderful day?" (Leslie)
Silence.
"Here, you hold Cuddles, while I get your clothes ready." (Leslie)
Leslie turns on the light, then heads to the closet.
"How about a cute little dress, today?" (Leslie)
"I want to help, Mommy." (Ciana)
"Here we go." (Leslie)
"No Mommy. I want to wear the pink one." (Ciana)
"What pink one?" (Leslie)
"That one!" (Ciana)
"This one?" (Leslie)
"YES!" (Ciana, excitedly)
Leslie gathers clean underwear and Ciana decides to squeeze in a little play time.
"Honey, it's not time to play. We have to finish getting ready." (Leslie)
"But I have to .... I have to write sumtin for my teacher." (Ciana)
"Okay, you have a few minutes. I'll be back in a second, then we get dressed. Okay?" (Leslie)
"Kayyy." (Ciana)
Leslie returns after a trip to the bathroom and of course Ciana is still working on her project.
Leslie finally has to remove her from the desk or else be late for work....again.
Leslie used to pick out clothes the night before, but Ciana always changed her mind about what she wanted to wear. It proved to be just as time consuming as selecting clothes in the morning.
Ciana, such a cutie, but a bit of a rascal too! I envy the patience Leslie has. And what an adroable and space saving bed Ciana has too.
ReplyDeleteVerona - Three yr olds can be a handful all day long. I've had that bed forever. It's such a small bed, I couldn't find the right doll to fit it, until today.
DeleteLol!!! How old is she? I see a fall out about to happen.
ReplyDeleteKenya - She is 3. Can't you see the temper tantrum coming?
DeleteYep because she was busy. LOL!
DeleteI love her little room is adorable!
ReplyDeleteLeslie does have a lot of patience to deal with a 3 year old at 6 in the morn.
Yellow Apple Crafts - Thanks. Luckily for Leslie the baby is still sleep.
DeleteI just love how feisty Ciana is. She's a cutie pie. Love the room, especially that bed!
ReplyDeleteAlura - Leslie does not share your sentiments. She prefers quiet mornings that go smoothly.
DeleteVery cute story. This is similar to what my sister has to go through with her 7-year-old who often makes her late for work. Instead of getting dressed like she is told, she always has some project to finish up. Kids are cute and will run the household if allowed.
ReplyDeleteCianna's room is pretty.
dbg
DBG - Thanks. LOL! Leslie read what you wrote and declared she would NOT be dealing with this when Ciana turns 7.
DeleteIt's time to have a very nice bedromm for children... I have done the same thing in my next movie #31 (almost finish) You have the same dress than me :-)))))
ReplyDeleteShasarignis - That's too funny! I can't wait to see your new movie. Great minds think alike.
DeleteThe room looks great! Vanessa, how do you do it? So much details and you pop these stories out like it ain't nothing. I read in one of your post that your sets are done within 20 mins. It takes me practically a whole day to get one set up with minor detail. I am amazed at how well you do this. Wow!
ReplyDeleteCiana is too cute!
Vanessa never ceases to amaze with her stories, right GG? The dios are always extremely detailed and the characters are so believable. This is certainly a gift that seems so effortless. I am always amazed.

Georgia Girl - Thanks! I don't even know how to answer your question. Working with the dolls allows me to tap into all of the areas of life I've ever been interested in. Sewing, cooking, interior decorating, woodworking, counseling, etc. It also gives me the chance to experience the kids I never had biologically. I guess I've been observing kids over the years because their actions come so easy for me. It also helps that I am a master at multitasking. lol. I think my thirst for knowledge and my constant learning through the years, really helps with the whole process.
DeleteBy the way, your dios are always very well detailed and show an incredible sense of design.
DBG - Awwww, thanks so much for your wonderful compliments. I'm just happy my stories can impart a little joy to others.
DeleteVery cute and also well decorated room.
ReplyDeleteDuke of Swann - Thanks!
DeleteLeslie is one of those people who gets out of bed in the morning looking drop dead gorgeous. Her hair looks great! All the more amazing since she has to deal with getting Ciana ready to go in the morning. Lovely dio!
ReplyDeletelimbe dolls - Thanks. LOL. Leslie does her hair before she wakes the kids, else she really wouldn't get to work on time. She learned this lesson really quickly. She used to get completely dressed, too, but after too many times of getting her clothes soiled with the kids, she now saves that until later.
Deleteciana is so adorable! she Is too cute. I wish wen I am older I can be like Leslie. I have a really short temper. lol. when are we going to get back o the baby shower? I cant wait to see what's next!
ReplyDeletecoolsinger - Well you have time to practice being patient before you have kids. You will definitely need it. Kids are all consuming. We will be back to the shower in a day or two.
DeleteI know this kind of mornings LOL
ReplyDeleteI like the new baby room and how You can turn the movements of the dolls into so realistic poses! I love the cutie pictures of Ciana!
Rosemary Hill - lol. I think many moms know these kinds of mornings. Parents, especially moms, need constant pats on the back. Being a parent is a LOT of work!
DeleteHello from Spain: Wonderful nursery. Ciana is a girl who likes to fashion. She has her own ideas. I really like the bunk and stuffed animals. Great job and very inspiring. Keep in touch
ReplyDeleteMarta - Thanks. Yes, Ciana is one of those little girls, who likes to choose her own clothes. Makes her mother's job difficult at times.
DeleteI like the way you combined different pieces from different sets for this room...Btatz, Happy Family, dollar store etc. Is the PJ a swimsuit or is is undie that you made. I have to get back to sewing. Cute dio and story.
ReplyDeleteMs. Leo - Thanks. I didn't make her pjs. The undies were part of an outfit. I can't remember which one. That's a little shirt she is wearing.
DeleteCiana's room is cute.
ReplyDeleteMustiwait - Thanks.
DeleteMom pick out 3 outfits, and tell her to make a choice. Too early in the morning for tantrums, and before coffee. Seriously, mom's ain't got no time for that. lol
ReplyDeleteSonya - You sound like a mom with a plan. lol. Oooh three outfits sounds like too many. Too many opportunities to change her little mind.
DeleteHola Vanessa, me encanto toda la historia, la bata de la mama y la ropade la nena. Hasta pronto, saludos desde Mexico.
ReplyDeleteThanks lindaivette! Hasta pronto.
DeleteWow, Leslie is great for 6am in the morning - way too early. Ciana is a cutie awake or asleep.
ReplyDeleteCarrickters - Are you saying you don't look that glamorous at 6am? lol.
DeleteLove the nursery! And Ciana is adorable. Like Georgia Girl, it takes me several hours to put a dio together. Awesome job as always Vanessa! :-)
ReplyDeleteCindi - Thanks! As you do more dios, you will probably do them faster.
DeleteLOL, Ciana is running that joint! My mother is more the "I'm going to count to one and then I'm gonna go get my belt," so I'm not used to kids taking their time and having 'tudes.
ReplyDeleteMuff - What? Your mom didn't even give you to the count of 3? She was tough. Welcome to the new age of 'tudes and less spanking. Don't get me wrong, Leslie will pull out the old belt when absolutely necessary.
DeleteAnother cute story to make me smile in the morning :)
ReplyDeleteV. - Thanks. Leslie said she's glad you are smiling because Ciana is stressing her out.
DeleteI really like Ciana´s room!!! It always amazes me how well you decorate the rooms!
ReplyDeleteFarbield - Our little Ciana needed a special room just for her. She has so much personality.
DeleteHow did I miss this one. must have been when my computer was acting looney. Anyway, everything is so cute and realistic. Thanks for making me smile, girl!
ReplyDeleteGrandmommy - I love making you smile. You know that.
