At The Pediatrician's Office, Part II (Photostory)

In the last story, we left off with the Redmonds being called back to see Dr. Pai.

Nurse Sasha leads the Redmonds to room 4.

"Mrs. Redmond, you can have a seat.  I'm going to get Jessica's vitals first." (Nurse)

"Are you ready, Ms. Jessica?  Why don't you let your mom hold your laptop."  (Nurse)

Sylvia puts the laptop in the diaper bag.

"Let's get your blood pressure, first."  (Nurse)
"What is a blood pressure?"  (Jessica)
Nurse Sasha explains why she is taking her blood pressure.  Next they check Jessica's height then weight.

"Stand up straight.  There you go."  (Nurse)

"Once you get your balance, let go of the wall."  (Nurse)

Nurse Sasha records Jessica's numbers, then moves over to get Sophia.

"Uh oh.  You're not going to cry are you?"  (Nurse)
"She should be okay in a minute."  (Sylvia)

"Okay, let's get you back to mommy."  (Nurse)

Nurse Sasha records Sophia's weight.
"Dr. Pai will be in in a minute."  (Nurse)

Within 5 minutes, Dr. Pai enters the room.
"Well hello there.  How are we doing today?"  (Dr. Pai)
"Just fine."  (Sylvia)

"Well Jessica.  I think we will start with you today.  You can show your baby sister how brave you are."  (Dr. Pai)
"Is it going to hurt?"  (Jessica)
Dr. Pai tries to comfort Jessica before getting her flu shot.  Since there has been a request (Carrickters) not to show the actual shot, we will check on the other patients in the lobby.

It has thinned out a little....

....but we have do have one disgruntled parent.

"This is ridiculous.  I've been here for over an hour.  I will need to reschedule.  I wasn't planning to be here all day."  (Kate)

"I am really sorry.  We are not normally this busy.  Dr. Ken will be finished with his patient in about ten minutes.  Are you sure you wouldn't rather wait?"  (Receptionist)

Mikayla has made a friend, who seems to be very interested in her dolly.

Meanwhile, at the hospital a few blocks away...

Kenya has stopped in to have lunch with her husband.

Off in the distance we see Dr. Miller having lunch with a fellow doctor.

"Honey, I'm really sorry I missed the doctor's appointment this morning.  I didn't think my morning appointment would take so long."  (Dr. Burke)

"It's okay.  Dr. Ken says, hi.  Everything is just fine with the baby."  (Kendra)

The hospital cafeteria offers a wide variety of meals.

It is rumored that the young lady who works there full-time, is trying to land herself a doctor husband.
"Now what is she doing with Dr. Sheppard?"

The 'she' she is referring to is Mrs. Anderson, the town dentist's wife.

"So, Patrick, can I count on you?"  (Mrs. Anderson)
"I would love to help.  I will check with my wife to see if she can help, too."  (Dr. Sheppard)

"How is your wife?"  (Mrs. Anderson)
"Last I saw her, she was fine.  With my schedule and her new fashion line, we haven't seen much of each other lately."  (Dr. Sheppard)
"You are preaching to the choir.  This is the time of year that Dennis travels for all the dentist conferences." (Mrs. Anderson)

"They are looking way too cozy over there."
Let's just hope they aren't getting too cozy.

In case you are wondering, Kendra is now seeing Dr. Ken as her regular obstetrician.  Dr. Sheppard is acting as her secondary doctor in the case of any emergencies.

  1. Does 'she', Mrs. Anderson, have to be so darn pretty? lol The cafeteria food looks so de-lish! It doesn't look like real hospital food because we all know hospital food doesn't ever look that good. It's A Five Star Hospital!

    1. Debbie - Might I suggest you spend a little more time with your husband. There are vultures all over that 5-star hospital! I would be more worried about the lady behind the counter. The people that have nothing to lose usually go for broke when trying to get someone else's husband.

  2. Here's hoping that Jessica is more brave than I am when it comes to needles. I hope Kate will be able to just wait and not go through the trouble of rescheduling, but I can see why she's upset.

    1. Alura - Jessica was a real trooper. It didn't stop baby Sophia from screaming to high heaven. Kate agreed to wait ten minutes, but not a moment longer. They got her situated in a room very quickly.

  3. The hospital cafeteria is simply great!
I really like cafetria seller, she's so pretty, does she have a name too?

Jessica is very brave! If I would be on her place I think I would run away ;P

    1. jewel snake - Thanks. The cafe seller is a Fashion Fever Teresa. She doesn't have a name because she is just a filler for now. If she becomes a regular, I will give her a name.

    1. Verona - I was just telling his wife she may need to pay a little more attention to what's going on. Those lions can be fierce. And you know how naive men can be. Especially if they are getting their ego stroked a bit.

  6. That is so realistic. I have been in the rescheduling position. I hate sitting in a room full of sick people. ANYHOO, I love the pictures you have on the wall at the pediatricians office.

  7. Love it! Jessica is a real trooper. I am afraid of needles, so I probably would have passed out if you had shown the actual shot. Lol! I love your scenes and the repositioning of the dolls. It seems so real. Love the cafeteria especially the signs on the wall. I agree with Debbie, this appears to be an upscale hospital with food that delicious looking. The cashier (hospital worker) seems to be a bit inquisitive. Lol!

    1. Georgia Girl - What is with all these people that are scared of needles? I would love to have a miniature needle. I may have to make one.

  8. Glad you didn't show the injection scene. I'm sure Jessica was very brave. I'm also glad to hear Kate didn't have to wait too much longer. It is annoying to organise an appointment time and then have to wait for ages even though you know there are probably good reasons for the delay. Your hospital cafeteria and its food look good - as for the developments there, I guess we'll have to wait to see where you take us.

    1. Carrickters - Jessica was a lot braver than some of my blog readers apparently. I get my fair share of needles weekly, so it's second nature now. Now that I have put a fire under the doctor's wife, I'm hoping there aren't any unplanned developments in the hospital.

  10. Absolutely love the cafeteria, it's great! And that girl at the counter seems a little "gossip girl", doesn't she?

    1. Rossetti - Thanks! The cafe seller really is a bit of a gossiper. I think she has her eye on Dr. Sheppard.

    1. Marta - Dr. Sheppard is an actor here in the states on a show called Grey's Anatomy. His real name is Patrick Dempsey. His actor name is Derrick Sheppard, or McDreamy, as they have referred to him on the show. My character's name is Patrick Sheppard.

  14. I have always wanted to walk out of the doctor's office when they are running late, but I remember that episode from Seinfield where Elaine complained about a Doctor and then there were "notes" in her file that followed her from Doctor to Doctor. I know they do that stuff because I found out that my Dentist was overcharging me and I bought it to his attention and made him reimburse me. His office never called me for an appointment again! That cranky mom better sit down, or else.

The cafeteria is great! You make such excellent food.

    1. Muff - I remember that Seinfeld episode. You have to watch those doctor and dentists. They are in cohoots (sp?) with each other and all of the referring each other. I have walked out of several doctor and dentist offices, never to return.

      Glad you like the cafeteria.
