While Danielle is home informing the boys about the little princess that is on the way, Rod is meeting with his lawyer in hopes of restoring his visitation rights with Nicole.
Disclaimer: Please forgive the office dio. It's a quick and dirty due to time constraints.
Roger is explaining to Rod the conversation he had with Melanie's lawyer.
"I just don't understand how she can keep doing this? It's just not fair. I take good care of my daughter and she wants to paint me as a deadbeat dad." (Rod)
"I know, but unfortunately the courts may be a little biased when it comes to dads. As a lawyer she knows the law and knows just how much she can get away with. You may want to consider fighting for full custody. Then maybe she would see how serious you are about the issue." (Roger)
"Full custody? I'm not sure I want to stoop to her level." (Rod)
"Just give it some thought and if you change your mind, let me know." (Roger)
"So your arbitration hearing is August 3rd at 1pm. And since your ex-wife is a lawyer, I will be there to make sure you aren't railroaded." (Roger)
"I appreciate that." (Rod)
"It doesn't look like they have assigned the arbitrator yet. I will keep checking. It helps to know who we are dealing with before we go. Try not to worry. You have a strong case." (Roger)
"Great. Well I appreciate your time." (Rod)
"My pleasure. Call me if you have any questions." (Roger)
Rod heads home. Once there, he enters to a very quiet house. He wonders where everyone is.
It doesn't take him long to locate Danielle.
She is knocked out in the nursery. He quickly scours the house to see if the boys are somewhere about, before returning to the nursery.
He walks over to Danielle and bends down to give her a kiss on the forehead.
Before he can do so, Danielle turns and opens her eyes.
"Hi, honey. You're back. How was the meeting?" (Danielle)
"Okay. Where are the boys?" (Rod)
"Oh mom stopped by and decided to take them with her to give me a little break." (Danielle)
"And how is the little princess?" (Rod)
"She was a little feisty earlier, kicking up a storm, but she's been pretty quiet lately." (Danielle)
Rod goes quiet for a minute. He is reminiscing about the times he used to talk to Nicole when she was in the wound.
"Are you okay?" (Danielle)
"Yes. I'm fine. Come lay down with me." (Rod)
He takes her hand, helps her out of the chair and leads her to the bedroom.
Doesn't take him long to undress to his boxers.
"So tell me about the meeting." (Danielle)
Rod tells Danielle all about his conversation with Roger.
"Wow, full custody?" (Danielle)
"I'm not sure that's the route to take. I'll have to wait until arbitration. Now come here." (Rod)
Rod puts his arm around Danielle and pulls her closer. He kisses her on the forehead.
"That's enough talk about Melanie. I'd like to keep her out of our bedroom." (Rod)
Wow...No words!I just hope Melanie can just get out of their head and mind.I just hope that the baby is fine!Have you found a baby yet?Feels like Kendra all over again,LOL! When is the gang going on another beach celebration? They should go on a vacation again!
ReplyDeleteJaiden - I have a potential baby I could use, but I would love to have a different one. I'm keeping my eyes open for something really good. Another beach celebration would be great, but Danielle can't travel right now with the birth date being so close. It wouldn't be the same without her and Rod. Maybe after the baby is born.
DeletePoor Rod. I have to give it to him for not stooping to Melanie's level.
ReplyDeleteJanainah - Let's just hope arbitration goes well. I don't won't him to start feeling desperate about the situation.
DeleteI hope that they get a good arbitrator! That does make the difference! No a friend of Melanie.
ReplyDeleteMs. Leo - Yes indeed. The right arbitrator will be key.
DeleteAs much as I dislike Melanie, I appreciate how you've maintained her as a character. Some people just stay jerks and time does not change that.
ReplyDeleteMelanie is doing Nicole a huge disservice and it might be in both Rod's and Nicole's interest for him say he's seeking full custody although that's not what he ultimately wants. Melanie needs a wake up call.
Muff - I'm sure some would love to see Melanie disappear, or at least get on board with everything, but that was not how it went down in real life. There are a lot of "Melanies" out there who think they are doing right by their children, and they aren't always doing so. If this storyline can open up eyes of even one person, then it's worth it.
DeleteJeez, he just can't get a break. He was into Melanie when they were together so he shouldn't be surprise she a beast, lol. Beside Nicole is big enough to inform her mother of her wishes.
ReplyDeleteBrini - I'm just glad he's not one of those "fly off the handle" people. No telling what he would have done by now. I'm also glad he's not one of those fathers that just walk away from their children because the situation got difficult.
DeleteI must be behind on a post or two about Rod losing visitation rights with Nicole. Melanie is so vindictive. I hope he regains his rights. This is terrible for Nicole as well as Rod.

DBG - He didn't officially lose his rights. Melanie and Danielle got into it at the grocery store, and Melanie took the opportunity to get the courts involved and also made the decision not to let Nicole visit until after they go to court.
DeletePoor thing. I felt him. Girl you are going to have to write an intimate portrait on Melanie for to ever consider liking her.
ReplyDeleteKenya - The person that Melanie represents in my personal life, had some redeeming qualities, but she always reverted back to being that unlikable person. So I'm not sure the intimate portrait would do any good.
DeleteDang. What's the quote about someone showing themselves the first time?
DeleteKenya - I remember Maya Angelou saying, "When a person shows you who they are, believe them."
