Insight into my Brain and other Goodies

As I was taking pictures of some of my latest projects for the beach house, I started laughing at myself.  These pictures clearly depict the haphazardness of how my brain works. In the first two pictures you see oysters and lobster.  I was supposed to be making fish for Roderick to serve for dinner.  Do you see any fish?  Nooooo.  I haven't made it yet. And at this rate it may not get made before Roderick and Danielle have dinner.

Another haphazard brain moment.  I was supposed to be making cotton candy, but somehow ended up with giant lollipops and pretzels.  I still plan on making cotton candy, because that is one of my favorites.  The one good thing about how I work, is that I always end up with LOTS of stuff, and I always put it to good use.

 I needed a few items for the boardwalk at the beach.

Yesterday I Sewed: Dresses, Sweaters, and Beach bags

Needed a break from the new sofa that I'm working on.  So, I did a little sewing.  I started off with something simple....more  sock sweaters!  This time I used thinner socks and I love how they turned out. 

China requested something she could wear at night time when it gets cooler at the beach.

She is wearing a pair of my favorite Basic jeans.

Halle wanted in on the action.

I changed the neckline, just by changing how far down I started sewing the sleeves.

I then moved to something that was a little more involved.  This dress is made of cotton.  The bodice is lined and it closes with snaps.  I am planning to add some type of coodinating waistband or sash as soon as I figure out which doll will get this dress.  It didn't really fit the personality of my regular dolls.  Antoinette may potentially get this dress. I thought it would be a perfect hostess type dress when she is entertaining or catering a small affair.  I would then have to make her a cute little white apron.

Speaking of Antoinette, she and her family will be spending the day together at the beach soon, so she requested a comfortable beach dress.  She also needed a cute little beach bag.  I could use your help on this one.  I made it a long dress, but I am wondering if I should cut it into a short dress?  Let me know what you think.

All of these outfits could use some accessorizing.  I will eventually organize what I have, and buy what I need to completely pull an outfit together.  But by now you guys know my motto, "gotta keep it moving".

A New Video!!! The Kids Go Swimming!

I had the best time shooting this video. I needed many more hands than I had, but I made it work. I felt like I was at the beach at times.  I had sand all over me.  I had to remember that my camera wasn't waterproof as water was going everywhere at times. This is my favorite beach video thus far.  I hope you like it.

My latest sofa inspired by Mrs. Obama

This is my new blue suede sofa.  I fell in love with this fabric when I saw it.  It is so supple to the touch.  I really wish you guys could feel it.  While I was working on it, these images of blue, black and white came to mind.  I remembered seeing this color combo, probably in one of my many home design magazines. So I searched the web and found some pictures.  I have posted a few below. That's when I decided to add the black and white pillows. That gives it an Art Deco-ish feel.  When you just have the blue suede pillows, the feel is more modern.  I included a lot of pictures to give you lots of ideas.  Available at Etsy for $47USD.

Apparently the fish were biting!

If you are following the beach videos, you know that some of the guys decided to go fishing.  Well, you know what that means.  I had to make some fish.  I didn't want them disappointing their ladies and coming home empty handed.

Trout was the catch of the day.

I wonder who is going to clean all those fish?

The Beach - Day 2

I was supposed to be fiinishing a few sofas yesterday, but Danielle and Roderick pulled me back to the beach house.  I liked the connection I saw with them on day 1, when they said hello to each other.  I wanted to explore this a little more.  Hence this new video.

They finally arrived at the Beach!

The gang finally arrived at the beach house.

I wanted to do a few other things to the beach house, but my printer ink needs replacing. As soon as I get $80 (criminal), I will replace the cartridges.  I could buy a really awesome doll for $80.  Several, as a  matter of fact.

"Singing in the Rain, I'm Singing in the Rain"

Are there any Glee fans out there? I loved that episode where Gwyneth Paltrow, Mr. Schuster, and the kids sang "Singing in the Rain".  But I digress....

This post is really about the new LIV outfit I found yesterday. Had to have it.  There's a full outfit with a shirt, a skirt, a raincoat, rainboots, and an umbrella!  And it was only $7.88.  Not bad at all.

Looks like she is about to do the robot dance. The raincoat has a hood, too.

I think I will put a ribbon around the umbrella to close it up when not in use.

Somehow the umbrella stays open. It's all in the way they sewed it. Pretty ingenious.

Just note, it is not a high quality sewn outfit, but it's awfully adorable.

I Do Love my Mushrooms!

And apparently, so do my dolls.  They will be able to make a lot of dishes with these mushrooms. 

I can always see my flaws when I blow up these pictures. They always look better when I can't see the details. LOL!

I love the little closed button mushroosm. Next time, I will make the brown inside much darker.

This is a very familiar scene to me. I am always chopping up some mushrooms. I have 2 pints in the frigde right now.

This picture is to highlight the knife.  It came with my new Halle Berry doll.  I was wondering what I was going to do with it.

Darius is a little Stressed Out! But he is enjoying the new sofa.

Apparently all those women are causing him some major headaches.  Poor thing! Maybe someone will stop over later to give him a nice massage.

Gotta keep Busy - Donuts or Bagels, Anyone?

Antoinette (my doll in charge of planning the beach house trip) wanted to have fresh donuts and bagels most mornings at the beach house. She figured this would be an easy breakfast for those families that didn't want to fix a full breakfast.

I fixed her an assortment. There's a jelly filled glazed, two cream filled chocolate covered, a chocolate cake donut and a couple different kinds of pink glazed donuts.

The kids will be happy. This will make up for the broccoli. I don't know what I did to that one poor chocolate donut. Oh well. They will still eat it, I'm sure.

 
 

I'm not sure why, but Antoinette only ordered plain bagels.

When I deliver them I will take her a sample of some of my other wonderful flavors.

Today is a very sad day

This morning I got the courage to take my dog to the vet, so that he could go to doggy heaven. It was an incredibly hard thing to do and the pain I feel is just as incredible.  Simba was his name and he was with me for the past 16 years. He was such a sweet dog. He was a lab mix who I rescued when I was 27 yrs. May he rest in peace.  Love you to pieces.

There's a New Sheriff in Town and she is making waves already!

Or is she? I don't want to jump to conclusions, but it is not looking good.

Halle arrived to town earlier this week.  She finally got out and about. 

And would you believe she was spotted taking pictures with Darius?!

Here they are in what appears to be a park.

But upon further investigation, I think that park is part of this hotel.

Hmmm.  I wonder what is going on here! Is this all innocent?  Did Darius break up with Model Nikki?  Were Darius and Nikki ever really dating?  Does Danielle stand a chance?  Like I said, I don't want to jump to conclusions, so let me go find out what's really goin' on.  I'll fill you guys in later.

Personal Commentary about My New Halle Berry Doll

Love her! She needs a serious hair washing, which I will do soon, but all in all, she is just a beautiful doll. This is one of the few times that I even like the Model Muse body for her. She will not be rebodied just yet.  I may wait to see what the Basics 2.5 pivotal body looks like. I really love her short hair and her really long eyelashes.  Can't wait to make her some elegant clothes. Oh the possibilities.
