Calling All Scientists

Yesterday I received the Rement science set.  I haven't been this excited about accessories in quite some time.  I let out multiple squeals as I was opening each box.  The set comes with 10 separate science sets that cover biology, chemistry, physics, anatomy and more.  I bought mine on ebay for $21.50 for the set plus $20 shipping from fan21_hk.  That is the cheapest I found.  It is worth every penny, for those interested in science.  Using a darker colored table would have allowed for better pictures.  Hindsight is 20/20.  Sorry about the blur.  I was sort of in a hurry.

I am finally using my American Girl paper doll backdrop.

Set #1:  A disecting kit complete with a frog.  The tool on the far right is a scalpel.

Set #2:  Microscope with 2 lenses, immersion oil and a leaf.

Set #3: Bunson burner set

Set #4: Test tubes, test tube stand, a beaker and an Erlenmeyer flask.

Set #5: Electric current tester

All the parts are separate.

Set #6: Chemistry glassware with a mortar and pestle, a flat bottom boiling flask,  a regular flask, and a graduated cylinder.

Set #7:  An anatomy set.  The brown thing is actually the stand for the figure.  All the organs can fit inside the model.

Set #8: Another chemistry set.  Comes with a beaker, an alcohol burner, a metal tripod stand, and a wire gauze.

Set #9:  A roberval balance, a couple of calibrated weights and a set of tweezers.  The two white plates are removable.

Set #10: Starch experiment set that comes iodine, a pipette, two petri dishes, a book, and a specimen.

Again, the background is from one of my American Girl paper doll books.

In the last post, Leandra Holland made a great suggestion to get more room in the boy's bedroom.  She sent me a picture of car beds on a car lift.  Danielle wasn't too keen on the design, but she and Rod were able to come up with a simpler design.  Rod quickly built it and they are pleased as punch.  Thanks Leandra!!!  You are a lifesaver.  I never would have thought of this type of design and I didn't really want to drill holes in the cars to turn them into bunk beds.  It's still not as safe as Danielle would like, but they had a stern conversation with the boys about not jumping from the platform.

Julian is standing near the ladder to his bed.  Not sure what color to paint the ladder, yet.  Now there is room for the dresser and a few other things.  The room looks quite busy at the moment.  I'm hoping it won't be that way once all the decorations and accessories are put in the room.

  2. I agree! The Bomb! I ordered #8 a while ago but have never seen this full set! I have been thinking about the Barbie microscope but that set blows it away. Congrats.

    1. Ms. Leo - I highly recommend this whole set. I have two of the Barbie microscopes. So I really paid $13 just for the microscope and the lab jacket. So with shipping included, each set is a little over $4. So worth it!

  3. WOW! The rement set is amazing! And what a great idea to do a lift for bunk beds! It would be incredible to decorate the dresser so that it looks like one of those big Craftsman rolling tool cases. The whole bedroom could be a sporty garage!

    1. Presto - Definitely one of the best Rement sets I've seen in a while. You guys have such great ideas. Love the idea about the dresser/tool case. I'll see if I can pull that off. I am planning to make them a gas pump bookshelf, too. They are so spoiled!

  4. This science set is so cool. I just want that microscope for a doctor's office. I have to look for it.

I can't wait to see who gets to use the items in your new set. I also love the idea for turning the car beds into bunk beds. For the ladder, is there a way to either incorporate both bed colors and maybe the lift color too or make it look like a flag with the rungs as the stripes?

    1. Janainah - I think this is my favorite Rement set to date. If you can't find this microscope, the Barbie one looks nice, too. Great idea about the ladder, but because of where it's placed, none of the details would be seen. I'm going to leave it for awhile until I finish some more decorating. I think it will become clearer soon.

  6. Wow, that science set is really detailed and cool! The frog gave me a horrible flashback to high school biology. I loved all of the other items, especially the anatomy set with the separate organs!

    1. Roxanne - The beakers even have details on them. It's a very impressive set up close. I hated dissecting the frog in school too. Turned me completely off to biology.

    1. april - Yes, it's 1/6 scale and so amazing. I will have to wait to see what colors I use for the other furniture pieces. That will help me balance out the colors in the room.
