New Purchases and Potentials

Mattel.com has their career Barbies 15% off through Sunday 8/16, with free shipping on orders $35+.  I took the opportunity to get a couple dolls that were on the list, only for their accessories.  Before you ask, these will not count towards my ten dolls coming to live here this year, because the dolls will immediately be donated away.   I got two of the Girl Scout dolls for their outfits and their cute little boxes of cookies.  I also bought two of the scientist dolls for the microscopes and the safety googles.  The retail price for each doll is $12.99.  Mattel.com had them for $10.99, so the 15% brought them down to $9.84.

I like the short pants because I plan to make a couple of my younger girls, Girl Scouts.

I saw this set weeks ago, but refused to buy it at $12.99 since I really just wanted the microscope.  The lab jacket and goggles will come in handy, too.

Now on to the potentials.  The first is the Eye Doctor set.  This is currently a pre-sale retailing for $19.99.  I love this set, and will more than likely add it in the future.

  1. Hey Vanessa, cool new purchases. I swear I've been going back and forth on purchasing the scientist, I want her for her props too. I love the little girl in the Eye Doctor set and the Frozen bike is just awesome. The Disney line is really impressive! I'm still debating over getting the Fairy Godmother and/or the stepmom. We'll see what my wallet has to say. :) Btw, love your new background.

    1. adrian - I just couldn't pass up the microscope. I could have made one, but I just don't have that kind of time anymore. You may want to check the Disney store to see if they have these sculpts, too. Usually their dolls are articulated. Hope your wallet says, yes.

  2. Thanks for the information about the sale. I was just on their site looking for the Live Love Laugh top. Sellers on Amazon have it priced way more than I am willing to pay. I didn't find it at ShopMattel.com. Will hold out until it arrives at one of the two Walmarts that I visit.

Congrats on your two new dolls for their accessories.

    The potentials are all nice.

    1. Janainah - Yes, that eye set is the cutest! You can pre order it now, and still get the 15% off. If it doesn't show up automatically, type 'eye doctor' in the search bar and both doll sets will show up.

  4. Some nice purchases! I know what you mean about Mattel using the same old face sculpts in the career packs. What would it hurt to use a new face mold for a change? I agree that the "Eye Doctor" set is really cute. Will have to watch that one or wait for My Froggy to create one and give a tutorial!

    1. Phyllis - It would be nice if they changed up the faces in the sets. I would still donate the dolls away because I can't afford to have them count against my 10. I will want the original of this set. That little girl will come in handy, too.

Thanks for sharing the sale information. Guess I need to tackle my "for sale" list sooner than I thought ;-P

The Disney Cinderella and Fairy Godmother are on my Wish List, too.

  8. Vanessa !
