Summer Sheer Florals

I stopped by a fabric store yesterday and found the most beautiful sheer fabrics.  I couldn't pass them up.  I envisioned a couple beautiful summer dresses for Dasia.  One of the fabrics lended itself to a great full length skirt.

Here is Dasia sporting her new skirt.  Underneath she is wearing her silver sandals.

I did an underlining on the skirt, otherwise you would be able to see all her goodies.  This skirt will be in the Etsy store sometime this week.

Below are three more fabrics I purchased.  I'm going to be designing a couple new dresses later this week.

  1. I'm so envious! She looks so cute in her maxi skirt. Her wardrobe is coming along really nice and I'm sure the items will be a hit in your Etsy store.

    1. Brini - Thanks. I need to add to my own wardrobe because pretty soon Dasia will have a better selection than I do.

  2. I want that skirt in my size- lol. It would make a perfect summer maxi. I can't wait to see what you do with the second and third fabrics. Those colors are lovely on my Dena.

    1. Jewell - I wish I enjoyed sewing for myself because I want a skirt from that fabric, too. I know one of the dresses will have short flowy sleeves and perhaps an empire waist. Still working on it.

  3. Your clothing line for Dasia is coming along nicely. I will be buying some when my budget allows for it. Glad to see you are getting out and about again. How are you feeling? Do I dare ask how things are going with the new guy???

    1. Phyllis - Thanks. I'm enjoying improving my sewing skills at her expense. I am feeling great today, but I have chemo again tomorrow, but then I will get a week off. Sadly the new guy is now spooked about my cancer. Even though he said it wouldn't be a problem, after a week of thinking about it, he got really scared. So we are a little in limbo which really sucks! But my spirits are high again. I went through a little mourning period but I'm doing great now.

    1. billa's dolls - Thanks. That's so funny that you have a skirt in the same pattern. It's such beautiful fabric. The key to buying new fabric is to sew them quickly before they get lost in the huge pile of excess fabric.

    1. Georgia Girl - Thanks! Isn't that print beautiful? I am feeling much better. Unfortunately it's chemo day again, so I may be down for a day or so, but I will bounce back as usual.

  12. I love the design of the blouse and the full-skirt concept. I am not big on florals, but I'm sure whatever you design using the other fabrics will look great on Dasia.

    1. DBG - Thanks. I don't wear florals, but I absolutely love seeing them on people and dolls. It must be the English in me. They just make me think of garden tea parties.
