Tina and Celia have made their way out of Nikki's office. Darius has made his way in.
Maya leans in trying to listen to Nikki and Darius.
Nikki may be a lot of things, but unprofessional is not one of them. She decides not to say anything to Darius in her office, especially with a nosy assistant nearby.
"Are you okay?" (Darius)
"I'm fine. Let's just go before I lose my appetite." (Nikki)
She grabs her purse and walks briskly past Darius.
"Maya, if there are any emergencies, please contact me on my cell I'll be back in about an hour." (Nikki)
"Sure thing, boss lady." (Maya)
"Oooh, you are so going to get it, Dar-E-US" (Maya thinks)
Once in the car, Darius tries again to talk to Nikki.
"Are you sure you're okay?" (Darius)
"I said I was fine." (Nikki)
Darius has yet to turn on the car. He looks straight ahead, then lets out a huge sigh before turning back to Nikki.
"Look if you are going to be like this the whole time, I'd rather not go." (Darius)
Nikki pauses before asking, "How do you know Celia, and why the hell was she all over you?"
"I met Celia on the plane, Saturday." (Darius)
"Well, that answers the first part of the question. What happened on the plane to make her think she could disrespect me, as if I wasn't even there?" (Nikki)
"She didn't know you were my woman." (Darius)
"Even after she found out, she was still all over you." (Nikki)
Darius looks away for a minute. There's no way he's going to tell Nikki what really happened on the plane.
Instead he reaches over and touches her hand.
"You know I love you, right?" (Darius)
Nikki is quiet and doesn't move.
She slowly reaches out and puts Darius' hand between hers.
"I'm sorry I'm being so bitchy. It just threw me off that Celia just got in town and she acts like the two of you are best buddies." (Nikki)
"Come on, now. She's a nice lady, but she has nothing on you." (Darius)
"Now what would you say to us taking the rest of the day off? I'm hungry for a little more than just lunch." (Darius)
Nikki smiles and Darius takes that as a yes.
He finally starts the car and pulls out of the parking lot. Nikki considers going back in to tell Maya of the change of plans. She decides to call her in a couple hours instead. As long as Maya believes Nikki is coming back to the office, she will continue working.
Darius seems to have dodged a bullet.
Oh, pretty slick Darius!

DeleteDarius got out of that one real good! Lol! Maya nosy behind is probably peeking out of the window. I am happy that they are making up. They are my second favorite couple in Morristown. Rod and Danielle are my number one. :-)

Smaller Places - There's definitely a man handbook out there because I've had the same thing done to me. It's called deflecting. Must be a whole chapter on that.

billa's dolls - Nikki is learning how not to be a total witch. In the past she always took things too far. I'm glad she's learning how to pull back. I think we all need that lesson at times. Can you really see Maya with a fashion doll blog? Maybe a fashion blog. She seems like the type.

DeleteMum (Carrickters) told me about this post because of the ferrari. We've had that model for years and years (I think we got it from an op-shop about 20 years ago) but I've never seen anyone else who has it :) Glad you're using it in your story.
ReplyDeleteWe also picked up a czech republic later model the other day - I saw it listed on the internet as 2000/2001 release but the base of the car says 2004.
I'm keeping my eye out for the white model :)

Hello Joy. Thanks for visiting my blog. I feel bad that I haven't shown this car and the white one more often. I think I've only done one story with the white car. That are such great pieces, I really should show them more. Glad you enjoyed the story. Maya's doing something she's not supposed to. I doubt if it's blogging. Probably checking Instagram.
