Dr. Cullen is Dr. Locicero

The Twilight doll, Dr. Cullen represents Dr. Locicero, my oncologist.  I got to take a picture with my oncologist today, so I thought I would post him with the doll to see what you think.

Meet my oncologist, Dr. Locicero.  He is wearing a red paisley tie which coordinated with my red paisley top.  How ironic.  This is one of two men who saved my life.  He is everything a doctor should be.  I don't think I would be here if God hadn't led me to him.  His whole team is fabulous.  They treat you like family, and they REALLY care about you.  It is great for the healing process.  By the way, my numbers were excellent today.  He was so happy, and you know I was ecstatic.  Monday I meet with the surgeon who fixed my leg.  Fingers crossed that will be great news, too.

This is me falling over after Dr. Locicero moved.  "Hello, I'm balancing on one leg.  You're not supposed to move first.  lol."

On another note, I finally watched some of the Twilight series.  I don't have a clue what was going on because I missed the first episode.  However, it was great to see the characters so that I could compare them with the Mattel dolls.  Robert Pattinson plays Edward.  Man oh man, did he look good in that movie.  Mattel got the Edward doll all wrong in my opinion.  What a pity!  The Bella doll is okay, I guess.  They did a fabulous job on Alice and Victoria's likeness.  The Jacob doll is decent in it's likeness, but they made Taylor Lautner's nose a little too big.  I'm curious enough about the story line, that I will do further research to figure out what was going on.

    1. AG Lanc - They played all the movies on TV this past weekend, and I missed the first one, so I was so lost. But I still enjoyed seeing Robert Pattison.

  3. Yay on good numbers! and on doctor's who know what they are doing.

LOL, I only got interested in the Twilight Saga after I got my Jacob doll. I've now read all of the books, but out of order since I got them online from the Library. I still have only seen the first movie. If they come free to Amazon I'll watch, but otherwise, nah.

    1. Muff - Thanks. I was considering reading the books, but I didn't like the prices on Amazon. I don't have Prime anymore. They showed all of the movies on TV this past weekend, but I missed the first one.

    2. Oh, heck no, girl! Don't pay for those books. I mean, no offense to any Twilight fans, but if you can get them from the public library, that's the way to go. Overall, the books held my interest and some bits were very funny, intentional or not, but regardless, I would not pay money for them.

    3. Muff - Public library.... I totally forgot about that. All the books I read now are on my tablet. The writing is too small in the regular books for my 46 yr old eyes. lol. I will probably just search the internet and figure out the story line. I don't need all the details just a great synopsis.

    4. Check if your libraries have large print. Not to be obnoxious, but it would be such a pity to pay for that series. Oops, bias showing.

I saw the first movie in the franchise, and my tears were that a.) I couldn't get my money back and b.) I couldn't get in the film to wipe out Bella and Edward. Ever watch a movie and want to help the villains? So frustrating.

Glad to see you looking great. Thank you, Dr. Locicero and the other doctor. Stay well.

    5. D7ana - Thanks for the advice. After reading all the comments, I've decided against reading the books. I did find an overview on line which probably gives me all the info I need. I understand your frustration with the characters. I felt the same way when I was watching the movies last weekend. That's why I thought seeing the first movie would shed some light on the craziness. Probably not.

  5. So glad to hear you are doing better. I do see the resemblance also. My youngest daughter loves the Twilight series, so I have seen the entire series. My daughter could probably tell you about the entire movie series and repeat it line by line to you since she has seen it so many times! I only read the last book, which was after I had seen the first 3 movies and before seeing the final 2 installments. I got the book at a discount store.

I hope you continue to improve.

  7. You look great and that doll matches the doc perfectly!!! I'm not familiar with the Twilight series, but I was wondering if you had watched Mad Men? I saw the Roger doll in your post the other day and wouldn't have guessed that was Roger if you hadn't said so.

    1. Kenya - Thanks! As soon as I saw that doll, I thought of him. I love my doc. I watched 1/2 an episode of Mad Men. I couldn't get into it. I think that doll is a decent resemblance to Roger Sterling.

    1. Keeta - Thanks! God surely has plans. I get the Michelle Obama comment often. As a matter of fact my doctor told me that, too. I even got followed in the store by a lady who thought I was Michelle.

  9. Thanks to your oncologists for keeping you with us so we can continue to enjoy your stories. I got at least two of the books for free from the public library (they often have used books on a give away rack in the lobby). I was not able to read them, however, because they are so poorly written. The author has a great imagination but very little technique. Maybe she improved as time went on.

    1. limbe dolls - Oh no, not poor writing. After reading this comment, I've decided to forego reading the books. If the first movie comes back on tv, I will watch it. It was at least nice to see the characters as they relate to the dolls.

  10. Vanessa, you look great! So glad to see the real Dr. L. I read the first Twilight book a few years ago to see what all the hoopla was about. I thought the writing was pretty bad, and I found Bella's character annoying. I wanted to know what happened in the other books but not enough to read them so I read the plot summaries online. I have enjoyed all of the movies though.

  14. It's great to see you looking so good - and to know your numbers are good too. Hopefully you will also have good news to report (we want to know) about your leg. Praise God for good doctors (especially ones who look like and appreciate their doll facsimiles).
And I agree with the others about the writing of the Twilight books.
