Keith's Working Late (Photostory)

When we last saw my doll husband, he was reading our daughter, Alicia, a bedtime story.  After that he changed into a more comfortable shirt and headed to his workshop.  He's working on a kitchen island for Mike and Adele.  I guess Adele won the battle of the kitchen renovation.  Keith's workshop is a work in progress.  The wall cabinet will eventually get some cool shop items.  Interesting thing about this room, just about everything was a thrift store find.  His desk and the piece he's working on, were made by me.

Keith is putting the finishing touches on the island bookcase before painting it to match the island top.

He takes a look at the marble top that still needs a couple more coats of poly gloss stain.

The top is over-sized to accommodate a couple of bar stools.  More on that later.

"Knock-knock."  (Vanessa)
"Come on in."  (Keith)

"Here honey.  I thought I would bring you a drink."  (Vanessa)
"Thanks.  What happened to the beer?"  (Keith)
"You know I'm not a fan of you drinking and working with tools."  (Vanessa)

"How's it going?"  (Vanessa)
"Fine.  I have to finish sanding this piece, then I can paint it."  (Keith)

"Is the top finished?"  (Vanessa)
"Nooo.  It still needs some work."  (Keith)
"I can't wait to see the finished project."  (Vanessa)

"Speaking of finished projects, when will I get my piano bench?  It's not fair that you did one for your customer and didn't do one for me."  (Vanessa)
"I swear, honey, it's on my to do list."  (Keith)
"Yeah, yeah.  I've heard that one before.  I'm going to check on Tyler.  Later gator."  (Vanessa)

"So it's like that.  No kiss goodbye?"  (Keith)
"I'll kiss you when I get my piano bench."  (Vanessa)

That's so funny.  Vanessa was all lovey dovey until she remembered she still doesn't have her piano bench.  In Keith's defense, he really has been busy with tons of projects.  Hopefully she will get that bench soon.

This is a picture of a piano and bench Keith recently finished for a paying customer.  So now you know why Vanessa is a little miffed.

Another quick note:  My second blog, "Wow, Who Knew", just moved.  This is the blog where I discuss things other than dolls.  You can find it here.  For those who subscribed before, you will need to subscribe again because of the move.  Now that  it's relocated, I will start posting there more frequently.  The latest post features my homemade Wheat Germ Pancakes, shown below.  These pancakes are soooo good.  Hard to believe they are healthy, too.  There's a link to the recipe on the other blog.

Remember the fresh blueberries I got from Robin, a handful landed in these pancakes.  To keep the pancakes on the healthy side, I made the syrup with just a little brown sugar, water and corn starch to thicken it.

    1. Marta - Keith said thanks for stopping by his studio. He stays busy, but he loves for people to observe him. That's very interesting that the American flag is so fashionable in your county.

    1. Georgia Girl - Thanks. At the moment Adele is only getting a new island. The rest of her kitchen is being borrowed for the time being. When I have more time, I will create her an original kitchen. Happy Sunday!

    1. Ana - Hopefully Keith will get the island done soon, so we can at least show that part. Bar stools and a few other items will come when he has time to make them.

  6. Yes, I can see why Vanessa is a bit miffed but it's always like that - the customers always come first because they pay the bills. Adele's bench will look great when it is finished (and so do your pancakes).

  8. I don't know why guys think that getting beer buzzed and then working with any tools, power or otherwise is a good idea.

That's a cool studio he has. Love that metal cabinet in the back.
