Taking Kendra to the Doctor

During the final weeks of Kendra's pregnancy, her extended family is pitching in to help with errands, doctor appointments, etc.  Today, Grace is taking her to her doctor's appointment.  The kids are out of school today for a teacher's workday, so her daughter Courtney is tagging along.

"Get in, Courtney.  We have to boogie."  (Grace)

"Where we going?"  (Courtney)
"We're taking cousin Kendra to the doctor?"  (Grace)
"What's wrong with her?"  (Courtney)
"She's just getting a checkup.  Get in, please."  (Grace)

"You've got to be kidding me."  (Grace exasperated)

"What's wrong, Mommy?"  (Courtney)
"Oh nothing."  (Grace)
What she wanted to say was "your dad forgot to put gas in the car again!"   But she refrained.  She would deal with him later.

"Have a seat and put on your seatbelt."  (Grace)

Grace pulls off and heads to the nearest gas station.

The Burkes Home

Grace pulls up to the Burkes house and gently blows the horn.

"Want me to go get her, Mommy?"  (Courtney)
"No.  She'll be out in a minute."  (Grace)

Kendra comes out the house moments later.

"Hey girl.  You need some help?"  (Grace)
"Hey.  No, but it may take me a minute."  (Kendra)
"Take your time."  (Grace)

"You got it?"  (Grace)
"Yep."  (Kendra, grunting a little)
"Courtney, it's time to sit down." (Grace)

"Is it quicker to go down King Street?"  (Grace)
"There's a lot of traffic this time of day.  You should probably take Duke Street."  (Kendra)
"Alright."  (Grace)

Grace backs out and heads toward Duke Street.  Check back tomorrow to see how Kendra's doctor visit goes.

  3. I love te exterior of Kendra's home! It is so charming! Did you make those moss decorations next to the door? And where is her lawn furniture from?

    1. Connor - Thanks! The moss decorations were purchased at JoAnn's fabric store. They probably carry something similar at Michael's. The lawn furniture was just cheap doll wicker furniture. I painted it white. I think they were thrift store finds.

    1. Verona - And she is so ready to cross that finish line. She's a little exhausted from carrying around all this weight.

    1. Heather - Number one thing not to say to a pregnant woman...Wow, you are so big! LOL! I didn't let her see the comments. That SIS kid barely fit in the back seat. I just discovered the car has cup holders. So cool.

    1. Muff - Triplets! Girl, don't say that too loud. Funny how I was all set up just to shoot the doctor's office, then remembered I need to start shooting more of these vehicles. Hence today's story.

  7. I have that car but didn't even realize it had a back seat. I was waiting to see how pregnant Kendra would fit in there with Courtney. Love the exterior shots!

    1. limbe dolls - Thanks. It's not much of a back seat, but it works well for kids. Did you notice the cup holder? I had forgotten about it until yesterday.

  11. That Grace has beautiful face screening. Is she the Baby Phat one?

Yay for Kendra nearing the end of her pregnancy. She does look fit to pop ... I'll be glad when she has the baby in her arms instead of where it is now.

Love your exterior scenes and the cars.
