Laundry Time!

I took a Walmart run today.  The shelves were full of new goodies. They had lots of the RollerSkating Kara and Tennis Grace sets, but the SIS Baby Phat dolls were sold out.  I took a sigh of relief.  Maybe I would get out with the one food item I came in for.  Not so fast.  They had the new Glam furniture sets.  The new laundry set is so cute, I had to have it.  I also ran across the new cleaning set, that also came home with me.

The laundry set was $10.97

This is right on time.  I've been wanting to make a laundromat.  I thought about it again this morning.  Imagine my surprise when I saw this.  I will need another set.  I will have them side by side and they will serve as the dryers.  I think I what I need for the washers.

The little table is cute.  It will look great painted.

Notice the ironing board is in the shape of a body.

This is one of the new Glam accessory packs.  It's a vacuum set for $5.97.  There is a microwave set and a breakfast in bed set.  I didn't really care for the other two.

Sylvia volunteered to demonstrate.  The vacuum can be used as a hand held or...

...you can connect it to the canister.

Below you can see a few of the other Glam sets.

The chairs in this set are really cute.

On another note, the basement is coming along quite nicely.  Yesterday my bf and I moved the big shelves and I was able to move a few more people into their homes.  Nikki and Darius moved back into their condo.   Lisa and her family are back in their home.  I'm super excited to show you more pictures, but I need to get a few more things done first.  The Disney story is ready to continue as well.  Everything is pretty much in place.  They are just waiting for me.  I'll see you soon!

    1. jessikaj250 - I agree. They do make a lot of mess and they should be cleaning it, not me.

    1. Georgia Girl - They have put out quite a few sets. Have you seen the new camper with the removable truck? I might have to splurge for that one. When I get the basement done, I may do a video talking tour.

  3. Vanessa, I too got caught by the Barbie bug Saturday. I bought the Baby Phat dolls, the laundry, the vanity, and the vacuum set. I plan to do a laundry room...one day. So I understand. I went back Sunday and looked at the table set but couldn't justify spending that money for just the cute chairs. We think alike. So now I'm officially broke but happy. I love my dolly obsession! Lol

    1. veda - I think there were a lot of dolly people shopping at Walmart this weekend. I think I can justify the dining set because that lamp it tooooo cute and would look great in a little girls room (possibly painted).

  4. I like that the washer and dryer are stackable. Even these dolls have to deal with saving space.

    1. Muff - Stackable is great for variety. I'm going to be throwing this thing in bathrooms, kitchens, and all sorts of places.

  5. Congrat on your purchases! It has plenty of details! I love the small iron and the detergent bottle... haha! And the vacuum cleaner... It's great! In Spain is hard to find that kind of things for barbie in shops ... and much less with those prices! Lucky you! Congratulations!

    1. DBG - Yes, the SIS girls were gone. There was a space for them. I only check one store, because I really didn't want to buy them just yet, anyway.

  9. I have this laundry set also, and I like it better than the older set I've got. I like the fact that it's stackable especially for Miranda who lives in a small beach house. I have the bathroom as well, but didn't get the dining set since I already have two others! :-)

    1. Cindi - Oooh, I love the idea of this being in a beach house. I can't wait to see yours. Only two dining sets? LOL! I think I have at least 8 and I could still use some more. I like the older style tables Mattel used to put out. The last few haven't really worked for me, but those chairs are perfect.

    1. Cindi - I'm sure you probably didn't find it yet. It was shown at Toy Fair, so it's not at the stores yet. You can see the two pics here. http://toyfair13.asmzine.com/gallery/mattel/barbie/slides/Barbie_Sisters_Deluxe_Camper_open.html

  13. Laundromats are something that you would not find in Spain, unless for special clothes (wedding dresses, coats...) Here it is normal to have your own washing machine at home, inside the kitchen or the bathroom. When we see them in films, we always amaze at them! I think that having one in Morristown is a great idea, it looks the perfect place for gossiping... and flirting!

    1. Rossetti - Laundromats at pretty common in the States. A lot of people have their own washer and dryers, too. A couple of months ago when my dryer wasn't working, I went to a laundromat. It was my first time in many, many years. Years ago Mattel released a set that had one of the rolling carts found in a laundromat. Since that time, I've dreamed of building a doll laundromat.
