Jason and Shantavia

As promised, Jason picked up Jada from Hotel Monaco.  He and Lynn will have her for the week.

"We're home.  What is Layla still doing up? "  (Jason)
"I wish I knew.  I've tried everything.  She just doesn't want to go to sleep tonight"  (Lynn)

"Is Jada sleep?"  (Lynn)
"She's not completely sleep anymore."  (Jason)

"Daddy, are we home?  Where's the baby?" (Jada)
"You'll see the baby tomorrow.  Time for you to go to bed."  (Jason)

"Okay, let's get you dressed for bed.  Tomorrow morning, you will take your bath."  (Jason)

"Hello Mr. Bear.  I missed you."  (Jada)

"Okay pretty girl.  Give Daddy a big hug"  (Jason)

"Daddy, can we go to the zoo tomorrow?" (Jada)
"Daddy will be working tomorrow and you will be in day camp.  Maybe this weekend."  (Jason)

"Sleep tight.  I love you."  (Jason)
"I love you, too, Daddy."  (Jada)

"Can you work some of that sleep magic on Layla?  Every time she thinks she's going to sleep, she starts fussing."  (Lynn)
"Hand her to me."  (Jason)

"See you have to cradle her like she's a football.  Then she feels safe enough to go to sleep.  It's all in the cuddle."  (Jason)
"Oh, is that how it goes.  Whatever works.  I'm ready to go to bed."  (Lynn)

Meanwhile, across town, Shantavia has made it home.  She has quickly changed into something more comfortable.  Bruce is stopping by to watch a movie.  She really should have put the movie off until the next day.
"I guess I better put some lotion on these legs."

Bruce arrives around 9pm.
"Sorry, I'm not looking my best.  It's been a long day."  (Shantavia)
"You always look your best to me.  I like seeing you casual." (Bruce)
"Care for something to drink?"  (Shantavia)
"No.  Let's get you off your feet, so you can rest." (Bruce)

"So where's my little buddy? " (Bruce)
"Jada?  She's with her father this week."  (Shantavia)
"Does that mean you can go out to dinner with me this week?"  (Bruce)
"Maybe."  (Shantavia)

"So how was the wedding?  (Bruce)
"It was beautiful, but weddings are just so tiring.  Then something crazy happened at the reception, so they didn't get to do a lot of things.  I hope they remember that when they see their pictures."  (Shantavia)
"I'm sure you did a wonderful job."  (Bruce)

"You have such pretty feet."  (Bruce)
"You keep massaging them and I will soon be fast asleep." (Shantavia)

I love catching my dolls doing something I didn't pose.  Look at him rubbing his finger along her leg.  It's a shame when even the dolls know that move.

In case you missed the post from earlier today,  it was the third installment of the wedding reception.  Make sure you check it out.  Wedding Reception Part III

  1. Well I'm jealous! He's a cutie. Shantavia is a lucky lady! Is he a hot toy figure?

    1. veda - Shantavia's new man is a Loading Toys, Gavin Head Sculpt. His body just arrived in the mail yesterday. I think I've seen him sold as a whole figure, too. He looks just like my ex-boyfriend, which is how he got the name Bruce.

  2. I am loving Shantavia's apartment. It looks really cosy, especially after as long of a day as she's had. Glad she can unwind.

    1. Duke of Swann - My dolls never cease to amaze me with their antics. My doll number keeps growing. I was supposed to be getting rid of dolls, but they seem to be accumulating.

  5. Your new doll is a cutie, hope Shantavia appreciates him. And your babies with their dad are very cute too. Love the description of cradling her 'like a football'. Babies (and cats) so often do love to be carried that way.

    1. Carrickters - Just in case you are wondering, that is not the doll that showed up on my doorstep yesterday. I still have to take pictures of him. On my next break from furniture making, I will do that.

  6. So cute Vanessa! I love reading your sweet characters. You had an interesting little girl in your video that I don't know if anyone's asked you about yet, but I bet you know who I mean. She looks like a cloth doll and is very life like. I was especially taken to her, because I have a life sized doll made to look just like my oldest daughter when she was in the Bluebirds in kindergarten. I just love her. Anyway, I was wandering who she was and how you got her.

    1. Susan - Thanks. Are you referring to Sydney? Adele and Mike's little girl? She is an Only Hearts toddler doll. They used to sell them in Targets. She is from the same company that Rod's daughter, Nicole is from. They are sold as a sister pair, as well as individually. They can be purchased from the Only Hearts website. Lately, there have been several of the dolls showing up in the Marshalls, and TJMaxxs. I haven't seen Sydney there, but one of the collectors did find the pair in Texas. I hope that is the doll you are talking about.

    1. Verona - When I originally saw him over a year ago, I thought he and Shantavia would make a nice couple. He finally decided to pay Morristown a visit and I guess my theory was right. We are always down for a good massage, aren't we?

    1. Marta - That blanket came with the original Krissy set. I'm surprised I still have it. That leopard print futon is from Walmart many years ago. They used to sell lots of different patterns. I was set to give it away, but decided to use it in Shantavia's room to give her more space.

    1. mrscarissa - This is not a Big Lots guy. He is a Loading Toys (name of the company) guy. He is sold primarily as a head and you have to buy the body. I may have seen him as a full action figure a year or so ago. Not sure.

  13. Great story. Both men in this story have skills. Jason is the baby/child whisperer and Bruce obviously knows how to make a woman feeeeel good.
