Food, food, and more food

I am in mourning, not ready to talk about why.  But in my efforts to keep busy and my mind off my sadness, I made some food.   If I had some extra money, I probably would have gone shopping.   If I wasn't being weighed in a couple of days, I probably would have gone to an all-you-can eat Chinese buffet.   Instead I cooked.... in miniature of course.

I made a supreme pizza, which I put in the Etsy store a few hours ago.

There's Halle and Diego.

I made a few things for the reception.

These are little ravioli styled appetizers.  They are pasta triangles, stuffed with ricotta cheese and herbs, topped with a tomato sauce.

These are spinach and cheese stuffed pasta cups.  I want to make sure I have enough food for the vegetarians that will be in attendance.

These are heart shaped, chocolate glazed cookies.

I also redid the chicken and waffles and the eggs, bacon, and hasbrowns.  I am still not happy with the bacon, so that won't make the store just yet.  The waffles need a little more syrup before I can list it.  They work perfectly fine in my dios though.

The last thing I made was small bowls of cottage cheese.  These will make the store, once I get some good pictures.

This is the second post of the day.  You can see the first one, After the Wedding Ceremony, here.

  3. They look absolutely fantastic!

I'm sorry for the reason they were made, though, and I hope it's something that will ease with time.

When I saw the pizza pop up I was like "Is that a real pizza or a mini-pizza"?

  12. I am sorry for your grief. I've been struggling with a loss that has given me a psychosomatic toothache for the last two weeks. The creative work really helps. The pizza looks scrumptious and Aunt Paulette will appreciate the spinach pasta cups and other vegetarian entrees!

  13. You have brought so much joy and excitement to so many people; I am sorry that you are in mourning. I admire your ability to produce these scrumptious dishes and to entertain us in spite of your pain. Good to hear that doing these things brings some ease to your pain. God bless - no, God continue to bless you.

Joe told me that he would pat your hand and give you a big hug. He feels that that would ease any woman's anguish. (I didn't say that, mind. He did.

  14. Your food looks absolutely scrumptious - and the best kind as it has no calories. You are also in my prayers and thoughts - that you will know the comfort that God gives and that "underneath are the everlasting arms". As D7ana says that God will continue to bless you.

  15. Thanks everyone for your encouragement and support. Now that all the comments are in, I can relay why I am so sad. Since you have all blessed me already, there will be no need for additional comments. Not sure I can handle them right now. Sunday, a few hours after loading the wedding video, my Teddy, went to sleep peacefully for good. For those of you who don't know, Teddy is my dog who has been with me for 19 yrs. When you come home to the same dog for 19 yrs, it's hard when he is no longer here. I knew it would be hard, but I am happy that he passed away peacefully, on his own terms. A few months ago I told him I wanted him to make his 19th birthday (April 17th) and that I wanted to finish the wedding video, then he was free to leave if he needed to. He was doing well until Saturday, when he wouldn't eat anything. Three hours after the wedding video was up, he left. He looked like he was just sleeping, but I could tell. Had I known he was going to take me so literally, I would have told him to stay forever. If you are not an animal person, you may not understand. He was the closest thing I had to a child. He was such a joy. Smart as a whip, loving, and friendly to all creatures (people and animals) big and small. Remember, no additional comments are needed. Thanks. Love you guys.
